Chapter 9
Dimitri POV
I heard a car pull up in the driveway. I looked out the window and saw a red minivan pull up and Ivashkov get out. What could he want now? Couldn't he tell that nobody here wanted Rose and her lies? She never sent the DNA results. I bet he's even the father. I opened the door before he could knock. He looked up surprised. He looked angry for a second before wiping his face clean of any emotion. "Belikov."
"Ivashkov, what are you doing here."
He looked back towards the van. "I have three kids who want to meet you."
I shook my head and started to close the door. "Enough with the lies Ivashkov. Rose's kids have nothing to do with me." Right before I could shut the door, Ivaskov stuck his foot in the doorway and brought the door back open.
"They have everything to do with you. They're your kids too."
I sighed. They just wouldn't let it go. I firmly shut the door and walked away from it. Rose's kids had nothing to do with me. Why don't they all just go find the father and bug him? I walked back to my chair in front of the fire place and picked up my book and began to read.
Adrian POV
Shit! I ran my hand through my hair. What was I supposed to tell the kids now? That their dad didn't love them? I walked back to the van. They were all asleep. I drove them around for a while before finally deciding to go back to Lissa's house.
The kids started school the following year. They were all excited and clung to me. Rose could still barely look at them so I was the one dropping them off. Kirova was wary when she saw their applications. "Rose's children." She muttered. Then she turned to me. "I thought there were four of them."
"He developed Leukemia last year. He died from it." I replied softly. Kirova looked shocked.
"I'm sorry for your loss."
"It's perfectly alright. Please just refrain from mentioning Alek to the kids. They won't even look in mirrors anymore."
She nodded in understanding. They all started crying and clinging to me when Kirova tried to lead them away to their dorms. They were moroi so they didn't need to see Alberta first. I sighed and picked up Aleksi and Niki. "Which way?" She looked at me disapprovingly but led the way.
She stopped in front of a room. "This is Aleksi's room."
I put her down and opened the door. She ran inside and Kirova set her stuff down on the bed. "Uncle Adrian. Is this all mine?"
I nodded and shut the door. I picked up Zak and we went down the hall and stopped at another room. "This is Nikoli's room." I put him down and he went right in taking his stuff from Kirova. We went down another hallway and stopped at another room. "And this is Zakariah's room. I set him down and he did the same thing his brother did. I started tearing up. They didn't even hug me goodbye.
Sorry I know it's short. Right now it's almost six in the morning and I haven't gone to bed yet so my brains a little fuzzy. I'll update soon so REVIEW! They make me update faster. ^-^
