Is forever too much to ask?
First of all, thank you for the overwhelming amount of support this story has gotten. I didn't expect to get so many reviews for just one chapter :)
Since so many people seem to want it continued, I give you chapter 2!

asucagafan: Thank you for reviewing! Athrun is dreading the fact that Cathryn is his daughter because he just got married to Meyrin. He married Meyrin because he hought that Cagalli didn't love him anymore and he knew that she would always stay by his side. The love Athrun feels for Meyrin is very different to the love he feels for Cagalli, while he will alwas love Cagalli, he simply loves Meyrin because she loves him with her whole heart. Here's the update you asked for, hope you enjoy!
Serena Fallenheart: Thank god for small miracles! I'm not a Meyrin hater, I really like her character but she will not stay with Athrun because i love AsuCaga too much :) Cathryn will play a big part in getting her parents back together...thats all I'm gonna say for now :) Enjoy the update and thank you for reviewing!

Chapter 2.
Everything was dark when Athrun found himself coming to. Managing to pry his eyes open enough to glance his surroundings, he realised that he was not in his apartment, nor was he at the ZAFT headquarters.
The room he was currently situated in had white walls and the bed in which he lay had fresh sheets that smelt suspiciously of disinfectant and other chemicals.
Putting those facts together, there was only one place in which he could be and that was the hospital.
There was nobody else in the room with him and apart from the odd beep emmited from the various machines, a calm silence enveloped the room
Attempting to sit up, he groaned when he felt a sharp jolt of pain run through his head and layed his head back against the too-flat pillows.
How had he ended up in a hospital? The last thing he remembered was being at his and Meyrin's wedding reception.
Meyrin! If he was in hospital then where was she? Surely she would be worried about him.
A wave of lethargy washed over him and he closed his eyes again, hoping that everything would make more sense when he next opened them.
It had been quite a shock when Athrun had passed out and at first neither Cagalli nor Cathryn had known what to do.
Good thing a nurse had come in to check on her and noticed him lying there.
That had all occured over four hours ago and now Cagalli sat patiently by his bed side, talking quietly to Cathryn.
"Momma, why did the blue haired man faint?" Cathryn asked, for a five year old she was rather intelligent.
Cagalli chuckled, "He was just a bit surprised..." Cagalli trailed off when she heard her phone start to ring.

Grabbing the small mobile device from her handbag, Cagalli flipped it open and pressed talk.
"Ms. Cagalli..." The voice of Myrna drifted over the phone. "When i arrived home today i found Master Ace by himself without a guardian. I can't seem to find Lady Cathryn though, do you have any news of her where abouts?"
Cagalli's eyes widened a fraction, Athrun had brought Cathryn to the hospital with him but she had completely forgotten about Ace!
"Myrna relax, I have Cathryn right here with me. Do you think you could get Ace dressed and take him to Miriallia and Dearka's place?" She asked, hoping that she wouldn't have to traumatize Athrun any more than she already had in the past few hours.
Myrna quickly agreed and Cagalli put the phone down, before punching in Miriallia's number and hitting call.
After two rings, a voice sounded over the phone. "Hewwo, Esman Howse Miwiam spweaking." Cagalli chuckled as the couples young daughter picked up the phone.
"Hello Miriam, are Mommy and Daddy there?" She asked in a child like voice.
The girl responded after a second, "Momma is in bwed Stwill. Papa... I find Papa!" She heard the phone hit the counter top and the girl call for her father.
After a minute or so, the phone was picked up again. "Hello, who is this?" Cagalli was hoping for Dearka but apparently their older son Connor had gotten to the phone first.
"Connor, is your father there?" she asked. He replied right away, but he wasn't talking to her. "Its for you dad." He said and in the background Miriam could be heard shouted, 'I tawd you Sooo!'
This time when a voice rang through the phone, it was Dearka Elsman.
"Hey Cagalli, Miriallia's still in bed because she's not been well but is there anything i can do for you?" He asked, you could hear the usual smirk in his voice.
Cagalli sighed. "In short, Athrun's back and he knows about Cathryn but not Ace. Is it okay if i have Myrna drop Ace off at yours to stay the night?" she asked.
Dearka replied immediatly. "Sure we can keep the little fella for the night, Connor'll be happy to hear it. Keeps us updated on the situation with Athrun though." he said.
"Thanks" Cagallis said quickly before putting the phone down because Athrun was beggining to stir.
"Hey sleepy head..." Cagalli whispered in a soft tone as his eyes fluttered open quickly.
"Cagalli!?" He shouted, obviously surprised to see her. His eyes then swept over Cathryn who was still patiently perched on her mothers lap, before widening in recognition.
"I remember now! What you told me last night... Is it true? he asked, "Is Cathryn really my daughter?" He sounded desperate, though for it to be true or a lie she was not surprise.
At first Cagalli didn't answer, then in a barely audiable whisper she stated, "Yeah... Its true"
Athrun was silent and the tension in the room was so thick that you could cut it with a knife. Then a small voice shattered the tense silence.
"Momma, why is the man staring at me like that, its scaring me. He doesn't look like he likes me very much, did i do something wrong?" Cathryn asked.
Immediatly Cagalli turned her head down to face her daughter. "No sweetie, nobody could ever hate you. Like i said earlier, Athrun is just surprised because he didn't know about you."
The girl then turned to face Athrun again. "Are you my papa? You look lots like Ace..." The girl trailed off as her mother covered her mouth.
Athrun looked shocked for a second that the girl had spoken directly to him, but he recovered quickly. "Yeah... I guess I am your Papa. Who's Ace?" He asked, directing the question more at Cagalli than the small child on her lap.
Cagalli eyes widened for a minute, trying to think of an excuse. "He's...he's just the child of a family friend who comes to play with Cathryn a lot!"
She inwardly sighed as Athrun's eyes narrowed but he didn't ask her to explain further.
The room became tense again, neither party had anything to say.
What could they say? I'm sorry that we broke up but now we have a child together We'll magically get our happily ever after? Cagalli and Athrun knew that in real life, things just didn't work out that way.
Suddenly Athrun's head shot up, "Where's Meyrin?!" he inquired, souding alarmed.
It amazed Cagalli how much those two words hurt, the way when he spoke them it was like another part of her heart shattered.
Of course he would be worried about the younger Hawke sisters wellbeing, she was after all his wife. With all that had happened in the past few hours, she had easily forgotten that this mess had all started at the wedding itself.
Cagalli made sure to look unfazed by the statement, "I wouldn't know but the hospital has a phone if You'd like to try and get in touch with her." She replied, trying her best to sound caring and attentive.
Athrun shook his head, then seemed to regret it as he closed his eyes again against another wave of pain.
"As long as she's okay then i could do with getting some more sleep. If you don't mind, could you leave?" he asked, finding it hard to keep his tone polite.
As the blond exited the room, he tacked on "Bye Bye sweetie" as an after thought, blowing a kiss to the young girl whom was peeking over her mothers shoulder. She blew a small kiss back and Athrun found himself smiling unconsciously.
He was already getting attatched to the girl whom he now knew to be his daughter. After all, He'd missed so much of her life yet it seemed as though he was in a tricky situation.
Why did something like this have to happen After He'd gotten married to Meyrin?
He knew one thing for sure, things were gonna get worse before they started getting better.
And thats the end of Chapter 2! I'm sorry that it's shorter than chapter one but the chapters wil get longer. This had to be put in because it contained some important information that may be useful in future chapters (You could call it a filler of sorts)
