Azula was in her bedroom, cleaning out her purse like she usually did before going out to work. Why she was going to work in the middle of the day when it was hot was beyond her. She just wanted to get out of the house. She could hear the kids singing along with their colorful TV show downstairs and knew that they were happy and had no idea that things had been awkward between Cas and her for the past couple of days. She couldn't stand it anymore, the awkwardness, the tension, and the silence, and decided that work was her best option, no matter how hot it was.
She walked downstairs and kissed both of her children on the top of their heads. "Be good for Daddy. I'm going out, alright?" she said and received mumbles in response, knowing they were not really paying attention to her, and put her purse strap over her shoulder and walked into the kitchen. There she found Cas leaning against the counter and stopped in her tracks, staring at him, not really knowing what to do or say.
"I'm going out. I'll see you later tonight?" she asked and walked past him toward the fridge to get a bottle of water before leaving.
