Rin P.O.V.

Rin hugged her knees. She had run away to the rooftop after she heard Miku talking about her to Len.

"Her voice is so dull."

Rin hugged her knees tighter.

"She can barely sing."

Rin's entire body retreated all at once.

"There's nothing special about her."

A single tear streaked down her face and soft sobs followed.

Len P.O.V.

"Oi! Len!" Kaito called.

Len looked up from his sheet music.

"Yeah? What?"

"Where's Rin?"

Len did a quick scan around the room. Miku, Kaito, and Ms. Luka were all there but no sign of Rin.

"I have no idea," Len said.

"Well you're in the same class, right? You should have seen her leave," Kaito persisted.

Len didn't say anything.

"Come to think of it," Miku started. "I do believe I saw a blonde head around the corner when we were out in the hallway." Miku smiled.

Len nearly jumped up from his chair and raced over to Miku. He grabbed her shirt collar with all his might.

"You knew she was there?" he hissed. "You knew she was listening!"

"Len!" Kaito yelled. "Put Miku down! I don't know what she did but that's no way to solve it!"

Kaito pried Len's hand off of Miku's top and stood between them. Ms. Luka then got up from her seat and walked over to Len. She bent down and whispered something softly to Len. He then scrambled out of the room at full speed.

Rin P.O.V.

Rin continued to cry. It was no longer just about what Miku had said, everything bad that had ever happened in her life all flowed out at once. Rin began to cry so hard that soft animal noises started coming from her.

Just then, something touched her shoulder and her head whipped up. It was a hand.

"L- HIC- Len?" she murmured.

"Damn," he said as he knelt down beside her. "I knew it."

Len pulled the sleeve of his sweater onto his palm and began to wipe the tears from Rin's face. When he had gotten most of her face dry, he sat down beside her, placed the sweater around her, and put his arm around her.

"Listen," he started. "I'm sorry."

Rin's eyes widened.

"I'm sorry for what Miku said. I didn't know you were listening, or I would have said something sooner."

Rin relaxed. It seemed comforting to be with Len. She slowly closed her eyes.

Suddenly, Len's phone rang. He pulled it out of his pocket.

"Len-

Did you find Rin yet?

-Kaito"

Rin looked up at Len.

"Kaito wants us to get back," Len said as he started to get up.

"Us?" Rin asked.

"Of course," he said. "You are part of the Vocaloids, aren't you?" Len extended his hand to her.

Rin smiled and took it.

Just as they reached the door, Rin stopped.

"What now?" Len asked. "I told you. You are welcomed."

"It's not that," Rin said.

"Then what?"

Rin walked up to Len and pecked him on the cheek.

"Thanks." Rin then opened the door and went inside.

Kaito looked through the doorway at Len.

"Len?" he asked. "Is there something wrong? Your cheeks are red."

"I fine," Len muttered quickly.
