Things were unusually quiet in class 2-A. an awkward silence filled the room. Re tapped his fingers on his desk and glanced at Chiki, who casually took notes. It was clear that she was angry about yesterday, but it wasn't clear why she tried to hide it. He looked behind him to Eri. She was staring blankly ahead. No sign of hopes or dreams in her. He sighed.
Destroy everything! Make them feel your sorrows and jealousy. The words had stung him terribly. He just couldn't get it out of his mind.
"So much for first impressions…" He mumbled. When class was declared over and the teacher left, Chiki immediately stood up.
"Hold on a sec!" Re called. Chiki looked straight at him, looking very interested in what he was going to say.
"You get one question." Re's eyes widened. He didn't expect her to actually give answer at all. He definitely didn't plan that far ahead. Chiki smirked.
"Well, if you don't have anything to say, me and Eri will go-" She was interrupted by the door slamming open. A girl with short blonde hair and big glasses franticly looked around until her eyes landed on Chiki.
"Crap…" Chiki murmured. An awkward smiled formed on her lips.
"Miss Chikako!" The blonde yelled.
"H-hi there, Amaya-chan…"
"Don't 'hi there' me! You know exactly why I'm here!"
"Do I?" Chiki gave a weak smile.
"Then let this be a reminder." Amaya told her. "We have practice tomorrow. You need to show up this time!"
"Tomorrow, got it. I'll be there." Chiki assured. Amaya narrowed her eyes. Chiki crossed her heart. "Promise."
"…Fine…but I'd better see you!"
"You will..." Amaya smiled and nodded. When she walked out of the room, Chiki sighed.
"Who was that?" Re asked.
"Amaya Yoshida. Captain of the choir." Chiki sneered. "Let's go Eri."
"But I still had a ques-"
"That you used up." She walked out of the room, holding Eri's hand. Out of her bag popped Strawberry and Vanilla.
"You shouldn't be so mean…" Eri had said emotionlessly. Strawberry nodded in agreement. Vanilla was still a bit on Chiki's side.
"Just because you think there's some good inside them doesn't mean that I should." Chiki retorted. She suddenly stopped. "Could you say that again?"
"You hurt his feelings." She said. "You should be more aware of people's feelings. Don't be like Ichigo." Chiki looked into her best friends eyes and saw a small glimmer of light. Chiki's eyes widened. She then ran to Aiko's house.
Meanwhile, Re was glaring at Flect, who had burst out laughing when Chiki had left the room.
"Will you shut up!?" Re yelled. Flect wiped tears from his eyes, still laughing.
"I cannot believe…" He gasped. "You would actually fall for that!"
"Not everyone can analyze everything like you do!" Re snapped.
"But I thought that even idiots like you had at least some sense. I hope they're not all like you." He got up from his chair, finally calming down. "But this isn't entirely your fault."
"Don't you think I know that?"
"You know, but it's not the reason you think." When Re raised an eyebrow, Flect sighed.
"You think you're not at fault because you were caught up in the moment the first time you came to Earth. But that's actually all your fault. She is angry because Miss Fugioka's mirror was broken."
"But that wasn't my fault!"
"Exactly. But it seems that we are the only people she can blame at this point." Flect grabbed his white book from his desk and started to read it. "Particularly you."
Re raised an eyebrow. "Why just me?"
"Did you not hear her yesterday?" Flect asked. "Your first false cure was her. I was not there, but it seemed to me that you were not entirely yourself that day. Or maybe you were excited to be somewhere other than Sham's palace and really did get caught up in the moment, like you said."
"….Fine…I'll give her that." After a moment of silence, Flect decided to say something.
"Quick question Re." He asked. Re's eyes widened. Flect only called him by his name when he really wanted to know something.
"Yea…" He answered hesitantly.
"Why do you even care if they hate you or not? It isn't like you can be friends or anything. "
"Who says that?" Flect looked at Re with serious eyes. They were almost angry.
"As long as we take hopes and dreams that belong to those other mirrors, they will always be here to stop us. As enemies." He stood up. "You and Kagami seem to be forgetting that and our tasks at hand." And with that, he walked out of the room. When he turned the corner, he stopped and clutched his white book tightly.
"But you two aren't the only ones." He said to himself. "Maybe coming to of all places Earth was a mistake…maybe they shouldn't have existed in the first place…" After he said that, he had completely dismissed the thought.
"Does the great Flect really not know what to do?" A voice taunted. Flect's head whipped around to see Shigure leaning on a wall in the hallway.
"It's simple really." He continued. "If you don't want them to exist, then just wipe them from existence." He sneered. "I'd be honored to do it for you. Oh, and by the way, they're trying to fix the mirror themselves right now. Let's see whose mirror break this time. I'm betting on the blue-haired girl." He then disappeared.
"Me and my big mouth." Flect sighed.
Chiki had dropped Eri off at Aiko's house and started running to her house.
I'll need something that Eri cares about, she had remembered Aiko say. Something that she thinks she couldn't live without. Things like that could trigger a bit more emotion from her.
"I'm sorry Aiko…" Chiki muttered to herself. It was a lot of pressure to put on a 12 year old, she knew that much. Chiki then decided to give Aiko a break when she had gotten back. Vanilla and Strawberry flew on both sides of her.
"What are you going to get for Eri-vani?" Vanilla asked.
"The keychain that I gave to her." She replied. "I noticed she didn't have it on today." Strawberry paled.
"Great idea-vani!" Vanilla praised. "We're almost there too-vani!"
"Um-berry…" Strawberry stammered.
"Yea?" Chiki answered, still running.
"You should've told me your plan sooner-berry." Chiki and Vanilla stopped cold.
"Why-vani…?" Strawberry answered by going into Chiki's bag that was slung over her shoulder and pulled out the keychain. Chiki stopped cold.
"Strawberry…" Chiki started. "You've had that the whole time?"
"I'm sorry-berry!" She yelled, about to cry. "I want to save Eri too-berry!" Chiki giggled and patted Strawberry's head.
"It's alright Strawberry." Chiki said. "I'm not mad. I'm actually better than I have been in a while." She started to walk back.
"You are-vani?" Vanilla asked. Chiki snuggled her and nodded.
"Yea. It's been a while since I've laughed without Eri. But soon, we'll both be laughing. Emotions and all." As they turned the corner Chiki crashed into a smaller figure. Strawberry and Vanilla dropped to the ground, pretending to be stuffed animals.
"Sorry little girl-Akemi-chan?" Akemi rubbed her nose.
"Ow…" She groaned quietly. Chiki noticed that there were streaks of silver and white in Akemi's hair. When she stopped rubbing her nose, the streaks faded into black.
"S-sorry about that…" Chiki apologized, uncertain if it had been the trick of the light.
"It's alright." She said, picking up Strawberry and Vanilla then handing them to Chiki.
I know I didn't make that up, Chiki thought as she slightly raised her eyebrow.
"Hey Akemi-chan."
"Yes?"
"Do you know any people by the names of Flect, Re, and Kagami?" Akemi unnoticeably stiffened.
"Who?" She asked quietly. Chiki let out a sigh of relief.
"Just making sure." She said. "But of course you wouldn't be like them."
"You looked like you were in a rush." Akemi said frantically. "Where are you going?" Chiki's eyes widened.
"I'm off to save a friend!" She yelled as she was about to take off.
"But we can't have that, now can we?" Before Chiki could turn around, she felt a hand on her neck as she was slammed into the wall.
"Shigure!" She managed to yell. His grip tightened.
"Let go of her-vani!" Vanilla cried as she and Strawberry tried to attack. Shigure rolled his eyes and he waved his hand. A huge gust of wind blew them away as he turned to Chiki.
"I'm so glad you remember me." He said calmly. "But you aren't thinking of ruining all of my hard work, now are you?" Chiki had suddenly remembered what he had done.
"You rotten-" Was all she could get out before she could say before he tightened his grip once more.
"I really don't think you should be wasting your breath, Miss." Miss!? Now he's polite!? Chiki thought. She swiftly tried to connect her knee with his stomach, but he caught it.
"You would dream of hurting me, now would you?" He asked smirking. "Speaking of dreams." He reached into her bag and pulled out a familiar blue hand mirror.
"That's Chiki's-berry!" Strawberry yelled. She tried to rush to Chiki but Akemi beat her to it. She took out a gray mirror and tried to hit Shigure with it. Still holding Chiki captive, he dodged it easily.
"And who is this little irritation?" He asked. "You're not going to go very far with that." He started to laugh. Akemi charged at him again, but this time her legs were caught in another mirror.
"Stop!" She yelled.
"Just in time Satomi." Shigure called out to the floating girl.
"Anytime Shigi." She called back. "Looks like we finally have someone to play a game with."
"That we do."
"A-Akemi-chan…" Chiki groaned, losing consciousness. Satomi rolled her eyes.
"Can you hurry up with your game?" She asked. "Sho and I have been waiting for 20 minutes."
"Just take your prize and I'll be there in a minute." He looked to Chiki's mirror. "I have something I want to get first."
"Fine. But please, make it quick." And with that, she disappeared. Shigure let go of Chiki, and she fell to the ground, gasping for breath.
"This isn't a petty reason!" Chiki yelled, lunging at him. He dodged every punch she threw at him with ease.
"Now, let's see what kind of deep dreams and memories are in here." He said to himself, putting his hand through her now glowing mirror. Chiki's head was alerted with memories from the past and present. She screamed in pain.
"Oh, this one looks good." He smiled and pulled his hand out. A small blue heart hovered above his palm and he dropped the mirror. "Well, can't leave those two waiting. Who knows who they'd kill? Aw well, see you later Chikako." Chiki struggled to get up and took out her cell phone. She dialed Aiko's number.
"Chiki, where are you!" Aiko answered. "Do you-"
"Aiko." She interrupted. "Shigure and his brats have a little girl hostage." There was a moment of silence.
"How far are you from my house?"
Eye catch 1: A simple hand mirror spins and transforms into different colors with Chiki, Aiko, Eri, Kagami, and Kemuri surrounding it. When the mirror stops spinning, it is blue and shows Cure Joy in its reflection. 'Joy!' They all cheer.
Eye catch 2: A simple hand mirror spins and transforms into different colors with Chiki, Aiko, Eri, Kagami, and Kemuri surrounding it. When the mirror stops spinning, it is green and shows Cure Cheer in its reflection 'Cheer!' They all cheer.
Chiki was with Eri in Aiko's room moments later. She remembered their conversation a minute ago.
"Eri's mirror still isn't fixed." Aiko told her. "And you two are stronger together."
"But what about you?"
"I'm pretty strong alone." She said, smiling. "I'll go get the little girl back no problem. You just focus on getting her mirror fixed so you two can fight again. I cast a barrier spell in front of the door, so don't worry about anyone interrupting."
Chiki looked to the door. There, a circular barrier glowed yellow.
"I wonder why we could never do that." Chiki muttered to herself. She took a look at Eri's mirror. The pieces were all there, but there were huge crack throughout the frame. She grabbed the mirror and both their key chains.
"Eri." Eri turned from a window she was looking at to face Chiki. "Do you remember this?"
"Yes. They're the key chains your Mom got us."
"Because we're best friends, right?" Chiki noticed Eri's mirror sealing a little. But then it cracked.
"What really is friendship, but a mere title?" She asked, her eyes lifeless again.
"Ok. That's enough." Chiki held their hand mirrors and key chains to her chest. "Eri, I miss you. Please, just try to remember how happy you used to be." Eri looked at Chiki and both of their mirrors started to glow their Cure colors.
"Happy?" Eri asked. "But that's-"
"Yeah, yeah, a mere emotion. But remember those happy feelings from where you would dress me up in anything you wanted?" Eri thought back to when she dressed Chiki up in the most adorable costumes and clothes. The faces Chiki would make when she called them 'horrifyingly girly'. She remembered the fortunate event that had led to her getting the money for the clothes.
"It…..it was never just about the clothes." Eri stammered quietly. "I really like to see your facial expressions when you wore them." Chiki smiled.
"Ok then. Tell you what; I'll let you put me in anything you want if you go back to normal." Eri's eyes widened and her mirror sealed a bit more. But Chiki's mirror cracked. She winced at the pain.
"What the-" She was interrupted by the door slamming open.
"Kagami?" Chiki asked.
"Joy! Stop please!" Kagami yelled, running over. The barrier glowed and wouldn't let her pass. She groaned, frustrated, and summoned a mirror and put it to the barrier. It glowed brighter, but wouldn't disappear.
"I don't have time for this!" She yelled again. "Joy! You have to stop that!"
"Why should I? So she can remain like this?" Chiki asked bluntly.
"No! Would you just listen for once!? The price of fixing a mirror is yours!" The barrier cracked, and so did Chiki's mirror. Chiki's eyes widened as she looked at Eri.
"If Eri's mirror is fixed, then mine will break?" She asked softly. Kagami, who was still working on the door, frantically nodded.
"You have to stop this! We're on your side this time, really!" Chiki smiled and closed her eyes.
"On my side or not, mirror breaking or not, she's done so much for me already. So… I guess this is just a sacrifice I'm willing to make." Kagami's eyes widened.
"No…" She whispered. Just then, a huge cracking sound and the sound of something shattering were heard throughout the house.
"Joy!"
Aiko raced to catch up to Sho who flew to the top of a building to meet up with Shigure and Satomi.
"Didn't I tell you to stay here while I get Shigure?!" Satomi yelled as he landed.
"Yea, but I got bored." He said.
"There she is." Shigure happily changed the subject before they could start arguing, spotting Aiko looking for them. He then looked to a tied up Akemi and walked over to her.
"Please don't come near me." She said calmly, her attitude making a complete 180 since she had been taken. "You're trick won't work." Satomi and Sho raised an eyebrow while Shigure smirked.
"What's gotten into this kid?" Sho asked. "She looked terrified when we first caught you."
"That's because my spell started to wear off when Satomi's magic interfered with mine. I don't want that girl to know who I really am." Satomi blinked twice.
"Magic?" Satomi questioned. She started to laugh. "Shigure, I think you scared this girl silly. She thinks she's like us."
"I don't know," Sho said, a bit nervous. "She sounds pretty convincing." Satomi rolled her eyes.
"That's because she's trying to trick us into letting her go, you idiot!" She snapped.
"Hey! Don't call me stupid!"
"Or what!?"
"Both of you just shut up." Shigure interrupted. "This girl is obviously special."
"How do you figure?"
"Simple really. She effortlessly made you both argue with each other, like she had known exactly which buttons to push." He smiled. "Either way, this child will make an excellent False Cure." He summoned a light blue ball of light and threw it at Akemi. An image formed above her.
"Now let's see what you want to become!" Sho exclaimed. Strangely, the image was gray and blank. Akemi sighed.
"I told you it wouldn't work." She said. Satomi looked puzzled.
"Hold on! Every human has hopes and dreams!" She yelled. Shigure walked closer to her.
"Could you be…?" He waved his hand in front of her face to see a familiar looking girl with silver and white streaks in her hair. "I thought so Kemuri. What are you doing here?" He unwound the rope.
"Making sure you three don't screw up." She said coolly. "I saw what happened with Kagami, and I'm not pleased. Neither is Sham." Sho paled. Satomi raised an eyebrow.
"What about that Cure you were with?" She interrogated. "How is that helping anything?" Kemuri looked to Satomi calmly.
"Sham said nothing about doing anything to hurt others. You are only to collect mimicry mirrors to give to him. Now, how many have you collected?"
Sho looked to the ground. "None…"
"Well, we're making progress here." She said sarcastically. Satomi glared at Kemuri.
"You want progress!?" She yelled, summoning a mirror and shooting a silver ball of light in it. "You'll get it!" A flash of light showing many images showed in front of her.
"I couldn't care less what you wanted to be. Let's see if those stupid girls can purify this one." She continued, obviously frustrated. "I'm out of here." And with that, she disappeared.
"Well, you've officially ruined the moment." Shigure said. But then he smiled. But I know exactly how to make this more fun, he thought as he and Sho disappeared. Below, Kemuri looked down as the now vacated area below her and balled up her fists.
"We weren't told to do this…" She murmured. "This place won't be able to withstand the fight and there are innocent people who haven't left here." She noticed Aiko taking out her mirror. From the top of a building Kemuri read her lips.
"Pretty Cure…"
"Reflect!" Aiko yelled. Yellow and orange lights took over. When they stopped glowing, Aiko looked straight into a false cure's eyes, a fire burning in them.
"The reflection of cheer and prosperity in your life! Cure Hope!" She said. The false cure looked Chiki's age with a green outfit and jewel on her forehead. "I want to help you. Please just let me." But the false cure looked infuriated.
"How can you even help when you don't even know what's bothering me to begin with!" She yelled. "Just shut up! You're so naïve!"
"So I've heard." Hope said. "Cure Anguish, if you would just let me purify you-" Anguish decided that she had enough of Hope and charged. Hope blocked and kicked her in the stomach, sending her flying in the air. "Fine then, resort to violence."
Anguish raised her hands in the air. A huge green fist appeared and slammed into the ground where Hope was. Hope dodged and hopped on her giant mirror, taking flight. Anguish grabbed on to the mirror and tried to push Hope off. She dodged once more and jumped off her mirror, causing it and Anguish to crash into a building.
"That should do it." Hope said, unhooking her hand mirror. "Hope Cannon!" A yellow blast came out of the mirror to the whole where Anguish was kicked into, bringing up smoke. Her eyes widened as she saw two giant green hands shoot out and grab her and start to crush her. "Let….go!"
Anguish smiled. "Not so helpful now, are we!?" She squeezed tighter. Hope was running out of breath. Think fast Aiko! She thought. What do I do!?
"Joy Rain!" Hope heard from behind her. Blue colored bubbles shot out at the giant hands causing them to shatter.
"Cheer kick!" Cure Cheer ran and kicked Anguish back a few feet.
"Hope-coffee!" Coffee flew into Cure Hope's hands with Vanilla and Strawberry a few feet away.
"Why did you just name that?" A familiar voice asked. "'Cheer kick' isn't even a real attack."
"Can't we all just get along and not criticize each other?" Another voice laughed.
"Cheer!" Hope said happily. "You're mirror! It's fixed?" Cheer held up her now fixed mirror.
"New and improved, if I may add." She stated and turned back to Anguish. "Cheer bind!" Cheer drew a green circle and threw it at Anguish. It then wrapped around her, tying her. "You're up Hope!"
"Right! Hope said as she unhooked her mirror. "Fortune…give me the power to purify this helpless soul." Orange and yellow energy drew near her from Coffee and her hand mirror started to glow. It took shape into a bigger two-handed mirror.
Cheer whistled in amazement. That's new. "Never saw that before."
"Prosperity Mirror!" She raised it toward Anguish. "Let all the sadness and sorrows melt away in one fell swoop! Pretty Cure, Hope Storm!" Spirals shot out of the mirror, encasing Anguish in a bubble. "Purify!" the bubble burst, leaving a girl floating in the air with an image above her showing her making a machine.
"An engineer." Joy mused as she grabbed the mimicry mirror. The girl slowly opened her eyes.
"Huh….what happened?" She looked around to find that she was all by herself.
The three had decided to stay at Chiki's house for the night. Aiko, who was beyond tired, had fallen asleep almost immediately with coffee in her arms. Eri had been sitting in a chair while Chiki was rummaging through her closet.
"It's great to be back." Eri said. "I bet you missed me didn't you."
"Yea, yea, don't get used to it." Chiki said bluntly. Eri paused for a moment.
"What about your mirror?" She finally asked. Chiki sighed.
"I wish you wouldn't worry so much. It's fine and so am I."
"You may not be for long. You could only do attacks that didn't require it."
"Eri…" Chiki peered at her mirror. It wasn't shattered, but it had a crack in it. "Let's just think about this tomorrow okay?"
"Fine…But no avoiding this okay?"
"Sure." With that Eri went to bed. Chiki put the mimicry mirror in a box where more lay. "We really need to find that last fairy with that mirror box. Someone could take these if we're not careful."
Eri: The mirrors are gone! Ichigo's working with who? Chiki's in trouble!
Aiko: Calm down! We have to figure this all out first.
Eri: But will there be enough time?
Next time: The mirrors are gone! Ichigo's blind loyalty!
Kemuri: This wasn't supposed to happen…
