Apollo was surrounded by Hunters of Artemis. Each had their bows up, arrows pointing directly at his face. He did some on-the-spot thinking and came up with a poem.
"This moment may look dire
but I promise it is not
I will leave in peace
for I don't want a shot
to fly from one of you
and hit me in the head
for though I want to stay
I prefer to remain not dead
so let me leave in peace
my shoulders bent and bowed
but alive and whole because
it's what you Hunters have allowed."
There were whispers among the Hunters. Finally, a girl with a silver circlet on her head stepped forward. "We have decided to permit thee to live, Apollo," she said. "We also wish to mention that thy poem pained the ears."
A/N: "Thy poem pained the ears" ...yes, Zoe. Yes, it did. Please review!
