A/N: Sorry I know its been ages but I wasn't sure where the story was going and wanted to finish it before I posted again. I hope you like what I did the last few chapters will be posted over the next few days.

Chapter 19

Caroline's stomach turned nervously as the pulled up to the Mikaelson mansion. How was this whole thing going to work out? Would Klaus accept their offer? Caroline also couldn't shake the feeling that she should have listen more carefully to Katherine this morning.

She looked over and Stefan and took a deep breath she had to admit she was glad he was here with her she couldn't face Klaus on her own. "Are you ready?" She asked Stefan who nodded once. Caroline took another breath then stepped out of the car.

The front door opened even before they reached it. A scared looking maid was waiting for them. "Mr Klaus is waiting for you in the dinning room." She said directing them down the hallway.

Caroline and Stefan exchanged a confused look before heading towards the dinning room. The long table was completely set and Klaus was sitting at the head of the table. "Ah Caroline, Stefan, you're the first to arrive. Come in have a seat." There was a smug look on his face.

As Caroline got closer to the table she noticed small name cards in front of each place. Caroline read the names looking for her own: Stefan, Megan, Katherine, Damon and even Elijah's names where there. Tyler and Rebekah's names however were no where to be found.

Caroline felt the knot in her stomach tighten even more. Something was not right. Klaus could not have pulled all this off in ten minutes. It almost seemed like he was expecting to hear from them.

"What's going on?" Caroline asked looking at Klaus. She could see Stefan out of the corner of her eye and she could see he was thinking the same thing she was. Klaus knew why they were there.

"I'm having a party love." Klaus answered calmly sipping a glass of wine. Caroline heard the front door open again and a few seconds later Damon's angry voice floated towards them. The maid gave him the same directions as she had given Stefan and Caroline. A few moments later he burst into the dinning room followed by Megan.

"What the hell is going on?" he demanded as soon as he was through the door. "And why couldn't you pick up your own girlfriend?" He barked at Stefan. Klaus shook his head and dismissively waved his hand in Damon's direction. "Enough with all this hostility. This is supposed to be a party now take your seats."

Caroline took her seat nearest to Klaus and her eye fell on the still empty seats of Katherine and Elijah. She couldn't figure out what was going on. Why was Katherine not there yet if there was a seat for her?

Klaus made a small motion with his hand and a few minutes later food was being brought to the table. Even though it looked pretty good Caroline could not bring herself to eat. Katherine's empty seat was making her nervous.

"Where is Katherine, Klaus?" Caroline demanded. Her expression was cold and hard she had enough of Klaus and his games and she wanted answers. Klaus smirked. "She is fine love. Whether or not you should be glad about that is a completely different question."

Everyone at the table looked confused. Damon opened his mouth to say something but the sound of a door opening somewhere above silenced him. They all stared at the door listening to the approaching footsteps.

"It seems our guests of honor are on their way." He smiled and got up from his chair, just as the door opened he raised his glass. "I would like to propose a toast to my brother and his new bride. To Elijah and Katherine Mikaelson."
