Chapter 26
Isabella and Connnor ran past where Adam had broken off from them. They went down a few more floors scanning every room. Until at last they found Aloyse in large room filled with monitors.
"Ah you two came to get me? Pity I was expecting more," He said
"Well no more was needed for someone as pathetic as you," Isabella said simply as she blurred into the room and towards him.
She bounced off something when she got near him though.
"Ms. Garcia-Shapiro you clearly are not as smart as your brother, this is my personal force field generator," Aloyse said pointing to a black box on his belt.
He pushed a button, the room was suddenly filled with men in suits.
"Well that's a problem," Connor said.
"Not really." Isabella said before turning to nothing to handle the men.
She blew through them some literally sent flying through walls by her super strength. Connr dodge ducked and blocked the others before finally ramming his knee into the last mans face.
"You were right, that was easy," Connor said
There was still the main problem, how to get through the force field to Aloyse. May if…
"What if we teleport through?" Connor suggested.
"Might just work." Isabella said pulling hers out and quickly punching in the coordinates.
"Hold on tight!" Isabella said
Connor grabbed on to her and the both disappeared.
Soon the appeared right next to Aloyse.
"Forget something?" Isabella asked punching him square in the jaw.
He flew backwards stumbling on landing. He pulled out a laser and started firing as several other lasers emerged from the ceiling.
They dodged every laser fire concluding that they need to somehow trick him into the path of one of the ceiling lasers without getting hit themselves.
"Thoughts?" Isabella asked
"We could use the sonic screwdrivers to destroy the lasers." Connor whispered knowing Isabella can hear but Aloyse shouldn't he just barely dodged another laser shot reminding Isabella that he's still a trainee.
Could we control the lasers?" Isabella asked
"I don't see why we wouldn't." Connor said pulling out his sonic screwdriver.
He pointed it at one of the laser and tried redirecting the blast.
Isabella pulled out her own and tried it on a different one.
Soon they were all dodging and trying to hit each other.
Isabella turned her laser away from Aloyse and started firing at the other lasers besides hers and Connor's.
"Good plan," Connor said still firing at Aloyse,
"Thank you." Isabella said dodging a blast from the handheld laser as she shot the last ceiling one.
"Now we have clear field make him dance," Isabella smirked firing at Aloyse' feet.
Aloyse dodged it and with his hand help laser fired another shot at Connor since between the two of them he's clearly the weak one. Both literally and metaphorically.
Connor just barely dodged it.
Not liking him going after her boyfriend, Isabella physically pinned down Aloyse since with her powers it's a LOT faster than shooting at him again.
He gasped as she punched hard in the gut. "Don't EVER touch my loved ones," She said
"No promises." He managed to smug and bit her nose which distracted her just long enough for him to throw her off of him.
"Cheap shot!" She shouted angrily.
"It worked didn't it." Aloyse said getting up spitting out her blood.
"I'm going to break you," Isabella said
"We'll just see about that." Aloyse said firing a laser at her.
She dodged it easily.
What she didn't see coming is that Aloyse fired at her laser destroying it.)
"Dang it!" Isabella said
While they were busy with each other, Connor tried a shoot at Aloyse since he still has his own laser.
It hit him in the right leg. He gasped in pain and fired another shoot at Connor. Connor avoided it again and fired a shot at Aloyse' other leg.
With one leg already shot, he couldn't dodge quick enough and hit the ground from the injuries to both legs.
"Your coming with us," Isabella said blurring him into cuffs.
"Last words?" Isabella asked.
He didn't have any. Isabella picked up his laser and rested it against his head.
"Goodbye," She said firing.
He went limp with a large hole burned through his head. The we no denying that he was dead. "Well, we make a great team." Isabella smiled then blurred them back to the craft.
In the highest floor sat Felicity, waiting patiently.
She just smirked when Feliss came in, "Well, hello, Me."
"Hello, myself," Feliss said
"So, I take it you came here to kill me?"
"Wow! I am smart," Feliss said.
"Well, you're out of luck of that." Felicity shrugged not getting up from her seat.
"I like me odds," Feliss said pulling out her sonic screwdriver.
"You just gave birth yesterday. You're week."
"Maybe, but strong enough to beat you," Feliss said.
"Why don't you come over here and see then?" Felicity asked calmly still not getting up.
"I think I will," Feliss said walking slowly toward her.
After one step, a bunch of shurikens flew toward her.
Feliss was forced to jump duck and dodge. When she dodged to the side though, she quickly found she couldn't move.
"Stun mines," Felicity smirked She snapped her finger and a robot floated in a took Feliss' sonic screwdriver when she couldn't do anything about it.
"It's a fun game isn't it, there is a safe path from the door to here, you just need to find it without dying first."
"Impressive," Feliss said
Now unfrozen, Feliss tried to think her next step through memorizing the traps she has already found.
She jumped to the right and was almost dropped into a spiked pit.
She looked back at her counterpart who was simply watching with a smirk. "You're really enjoying yourself, aren't you?"
"Yes, yes I am," She said
Feliss scowled noting that one and taking a step foward, nothing happened. She was on a safe square.
"One safe square," Felicity said
Feliss thought her path from here through, a straight path would be too obvious but they had to be connected so she went diagonally in the other direction.
Knives flew from the walls. Feliss dodged right back into what she already knows to be a safe square but one of the knives grazed her wrist luckily missing the radial artery not being enough to kill her alone.
She clutched her wrist wincing slightly. She watched as the nearly transparent twelve percent blood, forty-four percent chemical, fourty-four percent arsenic mixutre hit the ground thinking this through.
'Okay that did not work, lets try left,' She thought wrapping her arm with gauze from one of her belt pouches.
She realize something and looked back at the belt poaches wondering if there's something thing she could use to test the squares in a safer way. She dug into the pouch and found marbles for situations like this. She threw one to the left and was glad she didn't step on that one as it instantly went up in flames.
'I have got to thank Adam for including marbles, even if it did seem ridiculous,' She thought relieved.
"Cheater!" Felicity declared angrily.
"Hey all fair in love and war," Feliss said
"You're no fun." Felicity pouted.
"Maybe you should run then?"
"That wouldn't do any good." Felicity said shaking her head.
"Why not surely you know a way to get out unseen," Feliss said.
"It's obviously a trap." Felicity responded as Feliss threw another marble on the square right in front of her.
"I'm in no place to create a trap," Feliss said as nothing happened.
She stepped forward surprised that was it and nothing happened. "Two safe squares," Felicity said, "And with you, any place is place to create a trap."
"What do you mean?" Feliss asked.
"You're just the kind of girl who won't let anything stop you." Felicity pointed out.
"True, but so are you," Feliss said throwing a marble to her immediate left.
A bunch of arrows when flying through the air past that square.
"Interesting," Feliss said
"Thank you, I tried to make it interesting but you're still a cheater." Felicity scowled.
"You took my screwdriver, you cheated first," Feliss said finding another safe square.
"Three safe squares and you and I both know that if I hadn't you would have used it to find the exact path right away." Felicity reminded rolling her eyes. "Where would the fun be in that?"
Feliss stepped on it and immediately felt extreme heat.
She immediately jumped off but the bottoms of her feet were badly burned, "Ops, I forgot that it's not safe for you." Felicity shrugged with a smirk, "See? That's why you need to wear shoes."
"That's not fair!" Feliss whined
"How is it not?" Felicity asked. "You're acting like I stole your shoes or something when really you just refuse to wear them."
"You know how I feel about shoes!"
"Last time I checked, your peterphobia is your problem, not mine."
"No it's your old friends!"
"No, it's his fault. It's still your problem." Felicity corrected.
"Oh please shut up while I think," Feliss said
'Okay, so far there have been two safe squares in a line going straight towards her but she's obviously using that to throw me of so the square right in front of me in obviously deadly.' She threw a marble immediately to her right.
Another spike trap opened.
'But, unless the hot square is the only 'safe' square left then that only leaves…' Feliss' thoughts trailed and she threw a marble right in front of her.
Nothing happened.
She stepped on the square and still nothing happened, she might be able to kill her from here though.
She tried throwing a marble to her left and a laser sent it flying into what looked like another stun mine. Though the marble reflected the blast and bounced it around the room before it finally went into one of the reviled spike pits.
Feliss was to busy watching the marble noting what it activated to pay attention to where the laser went until she heard a gasp, that gasp contained a word though that sent Feliss' world spinning at a hundred miles an hour. "ROSLYN!"
"What did you say about my daughter?" She asked turning to Felicity.
When she did she though, she notice a laser hole burned through her lower abdomen.
Felicity pressed a button on her arm rest shutting the traps down.
Feliss registered the hole, the word, the look on her face and the fact that she's wearing a very baggy shirt and realized what's going on. "You're pregnant?!"
Felicity nodded.
They both hit the ground at pretty much the same time. First Dimension Felicity died since the laser had went upwards through her uterus and up to her stomach. Second Dimension Felicity had simply fainted.
At the craft Adam was waiting for Feliss back in control and the others were in the craft.
Adam had complete faith in his wife and her abilities even while recoving from childbirth but after a quite a few minutes still have heard nothing from her, he started to worry. "I need to go check on Felicity." He told those in the craft and blurred off after her.
He arrived to find both Felicity' on the ground. Panicked, he went straight to the one he instantly knew to be his wife and checked for a pulse relieved to find it still going strong.
"Thank goodness," Adam said picking her up.
He noticed she didn't have her sonic screwdriver and double checked over her in case he missed it knowing that she obviously had it with her when she went found it with a now deactivated robot. He took the sonic screwdriver and his wife and blurred them both back to the craft.
"What happened?" Isabella asked.
"I'm not sure," Adam asked and ran a scan with his own sonic screwdriver, "Besides a cut on her wrist that's basically healed now and bad but only first-degree burns on the bottom of her feet she's perfectly healthy yet she won't wake up. Think I should wake her up myself?"
"When we get home," Isabella said.
"Alright, who's flying?" Adam asked.
"I will," Ferb said.
"Alright." Adam said moving the unconscious Felicity to a seat and sitting down next to her in case she wakes up on her own before they get home then she's not just on the floor.
Ferb started the craft and they began to fly.
A short while into the flight, Adam heard crying next to him.
He turned to see Feliss crying and trying to keep quiet.
"Feliss, what's wrong?" Adam asked worriedly putting his arm around her.
"I...I..." She stammered before crying again and burying her face in his chest.
Though confused why she was crying? Adam decided it was best to just let her cry gently rubbing her back.
"It's okay," He soothed
"No it isn't." She said crying harder.
"What happened," He whispered holding her to me.
"The other… me… she was… P-pregnant." Felicity stammered between sobs. "I-I didn't… realize it… until it was too late."
"Oh no, Feliss I'm so sorry," Adam said holding her close
She didn't say anything and just continued to cry till they got back to the manor. Adam picked her up and carried her inside to their room. When he sat her down on the bed, she had not calmed down at all.
"I'll be right back," Adam said blurring to Roslyn and Vivian.
When he got there, Roslyn instantly noticed how her daddy was feeling and reached out towards him.
"You want to see your daddy?" Vivian asked smiling as she handed Roslyn over.
Adam took his daughter in his arms and Vivian noticed what Roslyn noticed right away. "Is something wrong?"
"Feliss is having a break down," Adam said
"You better get back to her then." Vivian said worried about her daughter-in-law.
Adam nodded as Roslyn pulled his hair as if to say; 'Let's go!'
Adam got the message and holding Roslyn secure blurred them back to Felicity.
They arrived to find Felicity still crying sensing her mothers mood Roslyn pointed to the bed.
Adam carried her over and sat next to Feliss, "I brought someone to help to you feel better."
Feliss did not look up until she felt Roslyns tiny hand on her cheek
Felicity looked at her daughter with a small smile managing to emotionally separate her from her now deceased counterpart not wanting to shut her own daughter away.
Roslyn looked happy and lay down beside her.
Felicity picked her up running her fingers through her tuft of blue hair. "I think I owe you an apology, Adam."
"What do you mean?" Adam asked.
"For thinking that including those marbles was ridiculous. Thank you for including them otherwise Roslyn would have lost her mommy."
"Really?" Adam asked.
Felicity nodded and explained her battle making sure to cover the first one she used the marbles on.
"Wow, that is incredible and sad," Adam said.
She nodded and looked down at Roslyn but it didn't help as Felicity started crying again. Roslyn looked up at her mother worry on her little face. She did not stop crying enough to see it though.
"Feliss," Adam said trying to comfort her.
"It's all my fault." Felicity said helplessly.
"No it's not," Adam said
"Yes it is, I killed the other Roslyn."
"You had no way of knowing," Adam said soothingly.
"Every Second Dimension citizen has a First Dimension counterpart whether dead or alive. If I had just used my brain."
"Feliss, none of us knew" Adam said.
"I should have though!" Felicity said louder than intended.
"Feliss there is nothing we can d about it," Adam said
"Well, I guess you're right." She said calming down a little.
"See calm down," Adam said
"I'll try." Felicity promised.
Roslyn made a baby noise and hugged her mother
Felicity just smiled holding her close, "You know, Roslyn seems to be rather smart for her age."
"Yeah I know," Adam sighed.
"From us that was to be expected though." Felicity said tuning to Adam, it wasn't arrogence, it was the truth.
"Yeah I guess it was,"
'If she only knew.' Adam thought looking at his daughter who when Feliss wasn't looking just shrugged with a cute little baby giggle.
Adam huffed.
"Something else bugging you?" Felicity asked him worriedly.
"No, nothing" Adam said knowing no one would believe him. '
"Aren't you tired?" He asked Feliss since it had been a big day for her.
Felicity nodded and handed Roslyn to him.
Adam took smiling girl. "Say good night to mommy," He said
Roslyn just made some cute little baby noises. Feliss kissed her daughter and her husband then lay down as Adam took Roslyn out of the room.
"Why do you mess with me?" He asked Roslyn when they were alone.
She shrugged with a smug look that matches her mothers.
"That's not funny," Adam said.
Roslyn shook her head finding it very funny.
"No toy for you," Adam said
However, instead of crying, she gave Adam a copy of her mom's sad face.
"Oh no, that is not working," Adam said looking away from her.
So Roslyn started crying the way a normal newborn does.
"Oh come on?" Adam said looking back at her.
She did not stop though.
"That's no fair," Adam said.
She couldn't keep the crying up long enough as she just started laughing.
"Your lucky your my daughter," Adam said.
She stopped laughing and went back to the sad face.
"Okay fine we'll go to the store," Adam said.
Roslyn giggled happily and hugged him.
"But we go by car," Adam said
Roslyn sighed but nodded.
"You don't even know what a car is," Adam said
Roslyn shrugged and shook her head. She didn't know but whatever it was it wasn't super speed or water.
"Lets go," Adam said blurring them to the garage.
Roslyn looked around at the odd devices.
"Which to use?" Adam muttered to himself
Despite knowing nothing about them, Roslyn pointed to one.
"The black corvet? Good choice," Adam said picking up her car seat.
He set it up correctly for a newborn and placed her in it. Roslyn looked around not sure what to make of this thing.
"You'll see." He said kissing his daughter's forehead and buckling her in before climbing into the drivers seat and starting the car.
He heard her giggle slightly when the engine started. He opened the garage and started to carefully drive out. Roslyn seemed to be enjoying the ride.
Once they arrived at the store and Adam parked the car, he told back to Roslyn and asked, "Did you enjoy the ride?"
She smiled at him still giggling.
"Can I take that as a yes even though I didn't get a nod?"
She smiled and extended her arms to him.
Adam smiled back and detached the car seat to a carrier.
Roslyn just kept on smiling. He took her into the store and straight to baby toys.
She looked around with bright eyes.
"See anything?" Adam asked her softly.
She looked around carefully before her eyes settled on a set of pink and white baby toys and multi-colored building blocks. She looked excited and reached towards them.
"You like those?" Adam asked
Roslyn checked to make sure that no one else was paying attention and nodded. Adam smiled and picked them up. It's a good thing Felicity was back home because Adam just took them straight to the register without checking the prices.
"That'll 25.25," The women said as Adam pulled out his debt card for it.
She scanned it and did other debt card stuff but then noticed both of their eyes and hair.
"Oh my gosh! Is she yours?" She asked.
"Yes she is." Adam said proudly but didn't like the way she was staring. "Her name is Roslyn but please don't be rude."
"I'm sorry sir, but she's so cute!"
"Thank you, she got that from her mommy."
"I'm sure you are both proud," She said smiling.
"We certainly are." Adam smiled looking down at Roslyn. She may drive him crazy but he still couldn't be happier to have her.
"Well that's great please sign here," She said
Adam sighed it and took his bags.
"Do you need any help?" She asked.
Adam shook his head. "I got it. Thank you though."
"Alright have a nice day!" She said.
"You too." Adam smiled leaving with the bag and his daughter.
"Did you like the store?" He asked
Roslyn nodded and reached towards the bag.
"Not until we get home," He said
Roslyn was disappointed but did not complain refraining her arms.
"Good girl," Adam said smiling.
Roslyn smiled back with a giggle.
"You are definately my daughter," He said.
She teasingly gave him the 'duh!' face as Adam attached the carrier back to the car seat.
"Too smart though," Adam said
Roslyn shook her head since there's no such thing.
"Did that baby just shake her head ?" A man passing by asked.
Adam turned to that man though he had never seen him before and said, "Yes! Would you mind telling my wife that?"
"What, but how?" He asked.
"I'm not sure. She's only a newborn yet she can understand everything I say. Isn't that right, Roslyn?"
She nodded this time.
"That's the most incredible thing I have ever seen." The man said absolutely amazed.
"Yeah that's my daughter," Adam said.
"But your wife doesn't know she can?" The man asked because of his request.
"No she likes to mess with me," Adam said and Roslyn smiled.
The man chuckled, "Preaching to the choir there, kids will do that to you. Just wait until she gets older."
"I can only imagine," Adam said smiling down at Roslyn who giggled again.
"She is beautiful, though." The man observed. "With those looks and brains she'll have to beat the boys away with a stick once she's older."
"No I will," Adam said smirking.
The man chuckled, "Well, as much as you want to, once she's older you won't be able to be with her every second."
"I know that, but by that age I know she'll have good judgement," Adam said
Roslyn nodded with a smirk having been following their whole conversation.
"Too smart," Adam said kissing her forehead.
Roslyn giggled and shook her head still thinking that isn't possible.
"We'll see," Adam said closing the door and getting in the car.
"Well, it was nice meeting you." The man said before leaving.
""Well that was a boring trip," Adam said as they pulled away.
Roslyn looked over out the window not thinkig so though.
"You have fun?" Adam asked when they got home.
Roslyn checked this time then nodded with a smile.
"Well then we'll have to go out more huh?" He asked
Roslyn nodded with an excited giggle. He picked her up from her carrier and took her to one of the living rooms where he opened her toys for her. She motioned to one of the pink and white one's on the floor so he picking it up and handed it to her. It was a rattle and she shook it smiling at the noise.
"You like it, Roslyn?" Adam asked but didn't get a response.
It made sense though when he heard, "Aw, that's just adorable," from behind him and turned around finding Isabella.
"Yeah she is isn't she?" Adam asked
"Yeah." Isabella smiled going over and bending down to her niece. "Hi Roslyn."
Roslyn made no indication that she understood Isabella other than reaching for her nose.
Isabella however back off from that from where Aloyse had bit her, which was actually a VERY hard bit so it was still healing since she had not thought to use her sonic screwdriver to heal it.
"Are you okay?" Adam asked her.
"Yeah, Rodney just bit my nose during the fight." Isabella said motioning to the blood bite marks around the tip.
"Why did you not heal it?" Adam asked
Isabella face palmed and pulled out her sonic screwdriver. "Because I wasn't thinking." She said and healed it back to normal.
"Better?" Adam asked noticing Roslyn starring at the screwdriver in wonder for a second.
'Guess I know what we're doing the next time we're alone.' Adam thought.
"Better." Isabella smiled putting it away.
"Good, do you want to hold her?" Adam asked
"Yes please." Isabella said picking her up gently.
Roslyn giggled a bit as Isabella picked her up.
"You are really just the cutestest little thing!" Isabella gushed having no idea that she understands everything she's saying.
Roslyn however gave no indication to that and snuggled her head into Isabella's shoulder as she was being held. Isabella smiled bouncing slightly.
"Yeah she does that," Adam said smiling
"It's a little odd, she has been awfully quiet for a newborn." Isabella chuckled, "Not that I'm complaining."
"Yeah, but she can cry when she wants to," Adam said.
'If you only knew,' He thought
When he said that Roslyn started crying, "That's odd, it's almost like she could understand me." Isabella observed checking her diaper to see if that it then handing her to Adam.
"Sorry bro she's stinky and that is daddy's job," She said.
"Of course." Adam sighed taking his daughter.
She calmed slightly when he held her.
Adam took her to the changin table and since Isabella didn't follow him asked more jokingly, "Don't you think you're smart enough to get potty trained?"
She shrugged because honestly she was not sure what that was.
Adam chuckled, "It's okay, I wasn't expecting you to know what that is yet."
She seemed to not know what to do.
"Besides, that would be something you'd have to do with everyone, not just me." Adam sighed changing her diaper.
She smiled and tried to hug him.
Adam got the new diaper on and picked her up hugging her.
"That is so sweet," Isabella said
"Thank you." Adam said looking back at her. "I'm just trying to be a good father."
"Your a great father and she loves you."
"Maybe," Adam shrugged and looked down at here and kissed her nose saying, "and I love her."
That made Roslyn giggle again.
He handed her back the rattle which she shook happily.
"Such a smart girl," Adam said.
Roslyn just giggled shaking the rattle.
"She is going to be a beautiful girl when she gets older I'll give her cute lessons," Isabella said
"Between you and Feliss, of course she's going to be."
"That's what Feliss said," Adam said
"Well, she was right." Isabella smiled ruffling Roslyn's hair.
Roslyn smiled and grabbed her finger. Isabella smiled back just letting her hold it.
"She likes you," Adam said
"Good, she should love her Auntie Isabella." Isabella smiled down at her.
"She will I'm sure," Adam said
"Good." Isabella smiled kissing her niece's forehead.
"She loved the store earlier," Adam said
"She likes shopping?" Isabella asked turning pale as a sheet. "There's only one person in either family that she could have gotten that from."
"Isabella she will not be like that women!" Adam said
Roslyn was very confused.
"I'm just saying," Isabella said
Adam looked down at his daughter then back at his sister and simply stated, "I won't let her be."
"Good," Isabella said
Adam nodded, "I promised Feliss while she was still just barely pregnant that I'll make sure of it and I certainly intend to keep that promise."
"You are a good father," Isabella said smiling.
"I try to be." Adam said making a mental note to asked Roslyn once they're alone.
"Dad would be proud," Isabella said
Adam sighed sadly and nodded, "I hope so."
"I know so," Isabella said
"Thank you, Isa." Adam smiled.
"It's my pleasure,"
"Maybe we should both go to sleep if Roslyn will allow it, it has been a long day after all." Adam suggested.
Roslyn made a thinking face while Isabella was not looking
"Don't you dare." Adam whispered to her.
She shrugged innocently
"I could freeze you in time all night if I have to."
She made a sad face at him. Adam looked away hating that she learned that.
She then did something unintentionally cute then she yawned and made a grab for Adam.
Adam took advantage of that beginning to rock her.
She yawned again snuggling into him enjoying the motion
He smiled back and kept rocking her hoping it will put her to sleep.
Slowly, but surely she fell asleep. Adam pulled out his screwdriver and froze Roslyn in time as she slept. He blurred her to the nursery and laid her down in her crib before going to bed himself.
He was woken hours later by someone shaking him.
He opened his eyes and found that it was his sister and she looked scared causing him to panic since almost nothing scares her, "What is it, Isa?"
"I had a horrible nightmare!" She said
Adam sat up and pulled her into a hug. "It's okay, Isa. It was just a nightmare."
"That's the thing though, it wasn't just a nightmare." Isabella said starting to cry.
"What do you mean?" Adam asked
"Back when I was ten: Phineas, Ferb, Candace, and I had went twenty years into the future and Candace's daughter had refered to me as Aunt Isabella which meant that I will either marry Phineas or Ferb back then it was fantastic news but now…" Isabella didn't finish and just started crying harder.
"It'll be okay Isa that will never happen," Adam said.
"B-but… she said…" Isabella studdered.
"Isabella it was a possible future, but we know it won't happen now," Adam said
"Well, I guess so." Isabella admitted wiping her eyes.
"See so calm down," Adam said
"Alright, thank you, Adam." Isabella smiled and hugged him back. "I'm sorry for waking you up."
"It's alright," Adam said
"I guess I should go back to sleep." Isabella sighed letting go.
"It'll help," Adam said
"Alright, thanks again for your help. It really does mean a lot." Isabella said standing up.
"It's my job," Adam said
"Sometimes it seems like I'm not holding up my end of the bargain very well." Isabella sighed, "You always do so much."
"You do a lot too," Adam said
"Not really. Not enough."
"You do more than enough," Adam said
"Really?" Isabella asked skeptically, "Like what?"
"Saving me when I was all depressed," Adam said
"Not really." Isabella shook her head, "The only time I can think of is when you ran away because you found out Feliss' secret." She said starting to cry lightly. "I'm a horrible sister."
"Hey Isa, your a great sister," Adam said hugging her again
"You're just saying that. I'm not really." Isabella said sadly. "I have done nothing to deserve that title."
"You and mom took me in and treated me like family when you could just as easily have sent me to Uncle Charlie. You have always been there when I needed you, you are a great sister in every sense of the word," Adam said.
"That's because you are family."
"So my opinion of you as a sister should be the only one that matters," Adam said.
"Well, I guess." Isabella said finally returning the hug.
"That's better," Adam said smiling
"Now I really should get back to sleep though." Isabella reminded.
"Yeah you should," Adam said yawning
"Good night, Adam." Isabella smiled before heading out.
"Good night Isa," Adam said
Then he heard rustling form Roslyns crib and realized the time freeze had ended and she was likely awake now.
He went over to her and scooped her up, "Hey Roslyn."
She smiled up at him still seeming a bit tired, but clearly happy to see her daddy.
Adam smiled at her and asked, "Roslyn, do you think I'm a good daddy?"
She nodded smiling and pointed to his and Feliss' bed.
"You want to sleep in our bed?"
Roslyn nodded.
"Will you go to sleep?" Adam asked
She nodded snuggling into him.
"Alright," Adam said leading her over and setting her gently down between himself and Feliss.
When he did so, she closed her eyes and pretty much went right to sleep.
Adam smiled and wrapped his arms around Feliss and Roslyn for the first time in a long time he was happy with everything in life.
