So I know this has to have been the world's slowest update but finally I have finished this story. I still have no idea why I didn't do this ages ago, I could just never find the right way to finish the story but finally I have one. So here it is, hope it was worth the wait in order to conclude the story.
Previously: Whilst on a hunt Dean and Sam had run into a very heavily pregnant Jo Harvelle. It turned out the baby was Sam's after events during the time he was possessed and had found Jo in Duluth and attacked her in the bar she was working (Born Under A Bad Sign – season 2). The baby she was carrying was special and it meant demons, evil spirits and more were after it. An epic battle took place during which Jo gave birth to a daughter who was as special as it was promised. Just when all was going well for everyone, including Jo and Dean who had gotten together, yellow eyes showed up and attacked Jo the same way he had Mary Winchester. Sam and Dean arrived back from a hunt in time to protect the baby but Jo was left bleeding to death. Just when they thought they had lost her Bobby showed up and revealed more about the baby, her ability to heal and bring the dead back to life. She was able to save Jo, but will their battle against evil be truly over yet?

Chapter 12
All Jo could think as she looked down at her daughter, who lay chilled out in her arms gnawing with nothing but gums on her tiny fist, was how grateful she was to her. How she would spend the rest of her life returning the favour to her. How she could never truly thank her. She was so happy she would get to see her grow up, see her become the great warrior she knew she would be. However, part of her wished her daughter could live a more normal life, like Jo had often wished she could lead.
She looked up from Gabriella and into Dean's eyes. He sat opposite her at a table in the Saloon, his gaze changing from Jo to his niece. Jo had to smile back at him when she saw him watching her. "What?" she asked him.
"I don't care how cheesy it sounds but I could happily spend the rest of my life sat here watching you mother her." he replied.
"And never drive the Impala again, I don't believe you?" Jo mocked.
"Well maybe the odd spin around the block." he said.
"And never feel the thrill of a hunt again?" she asked with a playful smile.
"Hunting's overrated," he joked back, "but seriously, Jo, I am so unbelievably happy that you're okay. And I plan on making her the most spoilt niece in the world. I have no idea how I will ever be able to thank her but I swear to God I'm gonna try."
"I was just thinking the same thing." Jo confessed with a smile.
Dean was unable to resist any longer, he stood up and leant over the table so he could kiss Jo, a kiss that only confirmed how glad he was to still have her in his life. He pulled away from the kiss and stroked Gabriella's head. "I'm not really a baby person, but for you I totally make an exception, sweetie." he said to the now sleeping baby girl.
Jo had to laugh, she knew Dean well enough to know he adored Gabriella and had from the moment she had come into the world, surrounded by angels and hunters. Both Dean and Jo turned to look when Sam, Ellen and Bobby all walked into the bar. Ellen moved to sit by her daughters side and sat with one hand gently stroking her granddaughters head and her other with her fingers gently combing through the ends of Jo's hair. Having lost her had devastated her and now she had her back she didn't want to waste a minute of the time they could spend together.
"We think Yellow eyes is going to hold off on trying to do anything to Elle for a while. At least until she's older. Pure good touched her first so it's gonna be hell for him to turn her evil, no pun intended." Bobby said.
"There's not an ounce of evil in her." Jo informed him matter-of-factly.
"So what do you suggest?" Dean said.
"We've been discussing that." Sam said, Dean could detect the note of sadness in his voice.
"And?" Dean asked.
"The only thing we can do is start training with her as soon as we can. She has to be prepared."
"You mean we drag her into the life we had, Sammy?" Dean growled.
"I don't want this, Dean. She's my daughter, remember, I want nothing more than for her to have a normal life but we all know that can't happen and because of that the only thing we can do is keep her safe by teaching her everything we know, having other hunters teach her what they know." Sam argued.
"And when does she just get to be a kid, Sam. I never had that and I wish I had." Dean argued back.
"And if you hadn't had that you think you'd still be here today? Do you I would, do you think any of us would for that matter?" Sam barked at him.
"Dean, I hate this too, but like Sam said we have to keep her safe and if this is how we have to do it then…then what choice do we have." Jo said.
"Dean, she's my little girl, and I will teach her everything I know but I need you to teach her the rest, you know so much more about this than me. I'm asking you to help me keep her safe." Sam pleaded.
Dean scratched his head and growled inwardly. He wouldn't wish this lifestyle on anyone and he certainly didn't want it for his niece but he knew the others were right. "Okay, but training starts when she's six…no earlier. She has to be a kid for a little while at least."
"I agree." Ellen said.
"Me too." Jo said.
"Then that's that." Bobby said.

6 and a half years later.
Sam stood watching his daughter fight. It still shocked him how good she was for someone so tiny. She seemed a natural born fighter. She had speed, precision and stamina. He knew without a doubt she was born to be a warrior.
He had to smile as she knocked Dean's feet from under him using the wooden staff they were practising with. "Way to go, Ella!" he called over to her.
"Thank you, Daddy!" she called back to him with a big smile that matched her grandmother Mary's.
"What have I told you about using your supper strength on your old Uncle Dean?" Dean asked as he pushed himself up.
Ella could only smile and shrug her shoulders, "I was holding back, it's not my fault you fight like a girl." she giggled. She had quickly grown to have her Uncle's sense of humour and sarcasm.
"Yeah well, how's about you go practise with your Dad for a while. Beat him up for a change."
Dean turned to look as a car pulled up behind him, he instantly recognised the car so was ready to call, "Hey, Bobby!" as the older hunter climbed out.
"Uncle Bobby!" Ella called out, dropping her staff and running over to Bobby who scooped her up into his arms and handed her a present.
It was at that point that Jo and Ellen walked out. Ellen walked over to greet Bobby who had walked over to Dean. "She kick your ass again?" Ellen asked Dean knowingly, unable not to hide her satisfied smirk.
Dean just smirked back at her and watched as Bobby placed Ella into Ellen's arm. "As always." Bobby mocked
"She doesn't always kick my ass." Dean protested as Bobby and Ellen walked into the bar, Ella now in her father's arms as she showed him her new present. A hunting knife that any other parent would want a million miles away from their child, but Sam could only be grateful of the safety and protection the weapon would offer her in the years to come.
"She kicks everyone's ass." Jo reminded Dean in an attempt to mend his ego.
"And yet everybody loves her." he said.
It was the truth, Ella could easily make anyone fall in love with her, even the toughest of hunters wanted to lay their lives down in order to protect her, however it was quickly becoming clear that Ella would easily be able to hold her own in the years to come.
That still didn't mean that the Winchesters, the Harvelle's and all the other hunters wouldn't be there to fight by her side, after all they were all fighting the same cause, good against evil and evil wasn't about to wait for long...
The End
I've left this one on a slight cliffhanger/teaser type ending as I would like to do a sequel one day if I think enough people would be interested.
Thanks so much to everyone who has read, reviewed and added alerts. I truly appreciate it and hope to hear from you again when I start posting other Supernatural fictions in the (hopefully) not so distant future.
