Chapter 10

Kono was intently watching the table, everything she was still too fresh, she had always dreamed about the day that the two were seated at table Christmas with Kyla, still seemed like a dream, and she never did not wants to wake up from.

Steve's voice pulled her from her thoughts and let her to watch him carefully, he sat on the floor playing with Steve Kyla by tickle her and she would laughs like she always did when she was around him, after all Steve was the best thing for them, he was a wonderful father and their family seems quit perfect for Kono… but nothing was perfect, and his Navy Seal dutty could take him away from them in a second and that idea was practically killing Kono.

"I think the mother also needs tickling? Don't you think Kyla?" Steve ask her, and Kono immediately take a steep back smiling.

"Don't you dare Steven! You know that tickling…" She had no time to finish the sentence, she felt Steve pulls her onto the floor, from there she could not stop laughing over that. She truly had a family.

The table was simple, decorated with typical Hawaiian flowers and a colorful red tablecloth on it. There was some typical dessert form the island, but the most important things were the they favorites like the chocolate cake that Steve loved though he didn't admitted, the another one was a lemon mousse like Kono loved and Kyla also had strawberries with whipped cream…

The dinner went wonderfully, they laughed and Kono was trying to teach Kyla how to eat with cutlery but seeing Steve helps her to eat with her hands she just did not care anymore, because the happiness and laughter of her daughter was well worth. At the end and now sitting on the white sofa in her house, they were laughing and had the "so famous chocolate cake" in front of them, and no silverware so the end up were eating cake with there hands, Kono could not remember the last time he had soiled chocolate but was really fantastic, Kyla was completely covered in chocolate, but seemed to enjoy, her the white sweater it was now brownish from the chocolate, but she seemed not to care, they quickly finished eating the cake and Kono could see her sofa also all dirty, they needed a bath quickly.

"I think it time for present, don't you think babe?" Steve asked the daughter who quickly got up happy and clapped.

"Yes, yes, please Daddy, may we open presents, please?"

"Mom and Dad will get present for you, okay?" Steve got up and makes his way to the Christmas tree that was in a corner of the room, a huge Christmas tree was shining, making the delights of Kyla, like any other child looked stunning with Christmas lights.

He came back with more than ten present in arms and much more had been left in the tree, for Kono that was an exaggeration mostly because Kyla had enough toys, but Steve was the first time that he could buy toys, and since it was his birthday and Christmas together he had a good excuse.

Kyla won a huge pink dollhouse, bright blue a bicycle that left her radiant, a new surfboard since her older one was getting too small for her, plus a bunch of other toys, but Steve had an even bigger surprise to Kyla outside.

"Come Kyla, we still have a gift for you out there!" Kono said and took her daughter in her arms "Me and daddy think you will love it since you don't do anything else that talk about it ..."

And Kono was absolutely right when Kyla saw the brand new beam in the garden, a huge and bright smile could not hide the little girl happiness.

A beam, like the one there was in the gym where she trained gymnastics. That was the best gift of all.

Making Kyla fall asleep was not easy, but in that practically night, and even after spending half the night, numb her it was even more difficult, Kono and Steve needed almost an hour for Kyla stay asleep, and when they came down again to tidy the living room, Steve had something else in mind.

"Kono, I still have a Christmas present for you ..." They were holding each other so close to one another and Kono had a sweet smile and passionate, and Steve felt the luckiest man in the world, he opened a small blue velvet box and Kono was speechless when he saw a beautiful necklace with a small pendant blue reminiscent of the sea.

"I could have given you a ring, but I think this means much more to us, is like a symbol of my love for you, of how much I love our family, how much I love Kyla and how she became the most important thing in my life, and I promise you I'm not going anywhere, ever! From now on my place is by your side Kono, never think otherwise, okay?"

"Nothing else occurred to me," she said kissing passionately, and Steve went behind her and put his collar on neck. They kissed again, this time passionately as only they knew, because it was time to give for her to give him his Christmas gift, and she was sure he would love it.
