A note about this chapter this takes place a few hours before Naruto dies and the Kyubbi is sealed away. This take place shortly after the second chapter ended.

Learning To Live Without Naruto

Sakura walked with Konan well Hinata looked shyly around. Sai just stared at a bird, Sasuke and Gaara argue about what Jutsu was better. Ino and Lee walked hand in hand. Finally Kakashi-sensei was not reading his book at all and looking around the village.

"Konan, right?" Kakashi asked softly.

"Yes?" Konan answer.

"There was a war here not long ago." Kakashi said sadly.

"Leader-san overthrew the corrupt government and became the new Leader of this village." Konan said with pride in her voice.

"How strange that there are no people around here." Hinata said softly.

Konan shrugged her shoulders,"I don't know why there are no people here."

"Oh." was all Hinata said.

"I bet they are busy working else where and we will see some later" Konan said with a smile to Hinata.

"Konan, you live here?" Sakura asked quietly.

Konan nodded her head.

"I was born and raised here. I plan to die here. I saw my parents and friends die here. I have fought here. I wish to make this world a better place for the children that will come after us." Konan said well-looking at the sky.

"It raining." Sasuke said annoyed.

"It does that, Sasuke-kun. That is why it is called the Rain village." Konan said annoyed.

"Oh my god. I am so bored." Ino screamed loudly to Sakura.

"Shut up, Ino-pig. I'm looking at the plants here." Sakura said with a faint smile.

Sai sat down and draw a picture of all he could see. Drawing fastly has his friends voices disappear he could help but be a bit scared. He was a ninja. Must not show any emotion. But he was alone in a strange place with no one around him anymore.

Hinata stop and stare back at the group counting every one. She blink, count again but the number was the same. They were missing someone but who?

"Sasuke-kun." Hinata said softly pulling on his sleeve with a faint blush. She was no good at talking with men, and when that man was Sasuke Uchiha, the former missing-nin from the Leaf Village, she became even more nervous.

"What, Hyuga?" Sasuke replied annoyed. He had no time for a stutting, weakling, little girl like her. All he want to do was marry Sakura, father a bunch of Uchiha children (boys and girls), and make his clan great again. Hinata Hyuga was not in his plans and right now she was just a bother to him and in his way.

"Did you noticed that someone is gone?" Hinata said softly again.

"Yea, why?" Sasuke asked not getting the point. God was she annoying.

"The mission was that we all stay together and not get lost. One of us is missing in a village we know nothing about, Sasuke-san." Hinata said feebly.

Sasuke raise an eyebrow at her. She was smarted than she appeared and she had noticed pretty quickly that someone was missing.

"Who is missing, Hyuga-san?" He said with mock politeness to her and saying her name with a scowl on his face.

"Sai." was all she said.

That jerkface was the one that was missing. Shit. He did not want to be accuse of murder like this. He could not be. He would not be. Stupid, stupid Sai. He was always messing things up for Sasuke. It was his fault that Naruto had died and Sakura no longer loved him. It was all his fault in the first place.

"Well, what do we do, Hyuga-san?" Sasuke asked Hinata softly.

"Tell Kakashi-sensei first then we go look for Sai." Hinata said well pushing her fingers together.

"That's a good idea, Hyuga-san." Sasuke said softly welling go off to talk with Kakashi.

"Hey old man." Sasuke yelled loudly to Kakashi.

Kakashi raised an eyebrow to Sasuke with a bored look on his face.

"Yes?" Kakashi asked Sasuke.

"Hinata and I need to look for Sai." Sasuke said fastly and softly.

"Okay" was all Kakashi said.

Sasuke nodded his head and grabbed Hinata to look for Sai.

"This is going to be troublesome." Kakashi whispered softly.

Hinata sigh has she looked around for the 100th time for Sai. They had been looking for him for two hours and had check in with Kakashi twice through their radio earrings.

"Sasuke-san. He isn't here." Hinata said quietly.

Sasuke just stare at Hinata. This was so annoying. That was it, Sai ruining everything. He wished Naruto was here.

Hinata sigh again has Sasuke ranted under his breath about Sai and Naruto.

"Let's go back to the others." Sasuke said before walking away from Hinata.

"Wait for me, Sasuke-san." Hinata called out to Sasuke.

Sasuke just "hn" to Hinata.

Hinata sigh for the third time that day. Today was going to be a long day.

Sai walked around looking for his teammates, anything that looked familiar to him from the walk with Konan. He didn't see anything that he knew. He was lost. Hopeful lost.

Oh how much he missed Naruto.

Even having Naruto here would keep him from feeling down.

He was so stupid to get lost and moved away from the team.

He was...

"Oi. Boy. What are you doing here?" A voice called out to him.

"Hm?" Sai whispered.

"Oh! Your that guy named Sai." the voiced said to him smugly.

"Who are you?" Sai yelled at the voice.

"I'm a friend of Konan." the voice said with a laugh.

"Who are you?" Sai asked again annoyed.

"No one that you need to know at this time and my name is of no important to you at this time." The voice answered.

"Then leave me alone." Sai said annoyed.

"Are you lost, Sai?" the voice asked.

"I'm not lost. I know where I am." Sai said quietly.

"I can help you find your friends again if you be kind to me." The voice said with a smirk.

"Fine." was all Sai said.

The voice step out of the shadows to reveal a young woman of about 15 with shoulder length blonde hair, and emotionless blue-green eyes.

She was wearing a red top with black fishnet and bandages under it. She was wearing a red skirt with black shorts under them. On her arms were black armbands and on her fingers were black gloves.

She stare at him his annoyance in her eyes.

"What may I call you then if you won't tell me your true name?" Sai asked softly.

"You may call me Time." was all the girl answered.

"Okay, Time" Sai said with a smile.

"Good, now Sai we must turn right and past some trees we will end up near the place your friends will be led to by Konan." Time said to him.

"Thank you." he said with a bow to Time.

Time just glance at him for a moment before turning down a small side road away from the place he had just been.

He follow her quietly wondering if she would truly led him to his friends or would he be following into a trap?

Only time would tell.

Konan stop for a moment trying to sense something.

She seem to be looking for someone.

She seem to be waiting for someone.

Sakura pressed her hands against her head in a fit of angry after what had happen with Sasuke and Hinata

Sasuke and Hinata had failed in finding Sai after he had gone missing.

They couldn't find Sai anywhere in the places they had looked for him.

So they had to come back here and told them what had happen well-looking around the village.

Hinata press her head on the ground trying to mimic what Konan was doing.

Sasuke glance around with his sharingan well it was blazing in his eyes.

Lee just looked at a tree with a small smile on his face.

Gaara just stood silently watching what was going on around him.

Ino sat down drawing a blanket over her head with closing her eyes for a few moments of sleep.

Kakashi glance briefly at Konan before looking back at his book.

The sound of footsteps could be heard before a person came into view.

A young female with a male behind her could be seems.

Konan eyes widen in shocked before a smile graze her face.

The young female stop for a second, glancing at the group before her eyes setting on Konan.

"Hello, Konan-san." the female said softly before bowing to Konan.

"Sai-kun." Hinata yelled quickly when she realize that the male was their missing teammate Sai.

Sai looked happily to be back with the group.

"Giant Boobs-chan, how are you doing? Your not sacred are you?" Sai asked with a smile.

"Eep." Hinata said before covering her face with her hands.

"Her name is Hinata Hyuga, boy." The female said coldly to Sai.

"Hm. Why is Miss Time so angry about what I said about Miss Boob-san..."Sai was able to say before he was punch by the young female he had called "Time".

The woman glared at Sai with such hatred that if looks could kill he would have die by now.

Sai felt all breath leave his body and his body tense up at the looked that the girl give him.

The woman bend down to his level before knocking him out.

"Annoying little piece of shit." Time mumble under her breath.

Sakura look in shock has Sai passed out before she let out a small whimper.

Hinata lowered her body to the ground in shock at what had just happen.

Both Sai and the woman Time had show up shortly after Konan had stop has almost they had plan this meeting.

"Here your little lost friend, Sai." the woman said coldly cutting into Hinata's thoughts before turning around and going back the way she had come.

"Wait-" was all about Hinata got out before the woman was out of view.

Hinata sigh before breaking down in tears at all that had happen recently to her and the ground.

First Naruto was kidnapped by the Akatsuki well on a mission with her and Kakashi in the rain village.

Then they were told that Naruto had die and now this had happen.

Sasuke glance at the young female has she cried loud sobs before they turn into soft whimper.

Konan bend down to give Hinata a hugged well awkwardly patting her back.

Hinata buried her head in Konan shoulders well she started to cry harder.

"It's all right, Hinata-san. It's all right." Konan said well whispering into her ear.

Sasuke growl under his breath in frustrating at what was happening to all of them.

Sakura and Ino stood close to Hinata and Konan with looks of helplessness on their faces at what they could do what now.

Lee watch this with a small sad smile on his face.

Kakashi glance at all of them before returning to acting like he was still reading the book

Gaara stared off into the distance, thinking about the mysterious girl who had appear and then disappear in a blink of an eye.

She looked familiar to him but he couldn't place where he had seem her before.

Has Gaara was looking off into space well thinking about the girl, Sasuke took this chance to attempt to leave the area to look for the strange girl.

"Where are you going boy? Do you want to get in trouble again?" a voice whisper coldly in his ear.

He twirl around to see the strange woman staring at him coldly.

"Sasuke." She said his name with an emotionless tone in his voice.

"Ashly" he whisper back to her.

She laugh a cold laugh before smiling bitterly at him.

"Where are you going, Sasuke-kun?" She asked with a cold laugh.

"What are you doing here in the Rain village, Ashly-san?" Sasuke asked coldly.

"Following you guys of course." Ashly said with a giggle.

Sasuke raised an eyebrow before drawing his sword and slashing quickly at Ashly waist.

Ashly dodge quickly before laughing at him again.

"What's the matter, Sasuke-kun? You can't hit me. Your so much weaker than you were when we last met." Ashly said cruelly to him with a small smirk on her face.

"S-shut up. I can beat you. I'm not weak." He scream back at her with hatred in his eyes towards her.

Gaara turn his head where Ashly and Sasuke where standing shouting and screaming at each other.

He stood up and walk towards both of them.

"Gaara." Ashly yelled noticing him before Sasuke could react.

She punch Sasuke in the guts before running towards Gaara with a smile on her face.

Gaara watch with a look of concern on his face towards Sasuke and Sai.

"They'll be all right Gaara." Ashly said with a smile.

Gaara took a step back well Ashly took a step foward to get closer to him.

"Why are you being so shy, Lord KazeKage?" Ashly asked Gaara softly.

"Um... Ashly lets not act to quickly or else bad things can happen to us." Gaara said quickly.

"Aw. Gaara doesn't like me anymore." Ashly said with a pout on her face.

"That's wasn't... I mean... I... um..." Gaara spit out in a panic.

"Aw. How cute. Little Gaara is all tongue-tied by seeing me again." Ashly said mocking to Gaara in a baby voice.

"What! How dare you insult me in that tone, Ashly." Gaara hiss in angry to her.

Ashly smile back at Gaara.

"There all done." was all she said.

"What the hell do you mean?" Gaara scream at her.

"That I got all my teasing of you out of my body." She said with a small smile.

Sakura glance up slightly before gasping in shock at what she was seeing.

She blink her eyes then rubbed them to make sure this wasn't an illusion or a genjutsu hadn't been caste on her.

It's wasn't an illusion.

It was real.

Ashly was here and she was talking to Gaara.

Sakura glance towards the ground and saw Sasuke lying on the ground.

With a shrug, she walked towards Ashly and Gaara wondering what they were talking about.

"Ashly-chan." Sakura yelled out loudly shocking both of them.

"Sakura." Ashly said softly.

"Haruno-san what do you what?" Gaara said coldly.

Sakura reach them before grabbing Ashly in a big hug.

Ashly hug Sakura back with a smile.

"I'm here to see Ashly-chan, Gaara-san." Sakura shot back at Gaara with a glare in her eyes.

"It's nice to see you again, my dear cousin, Sakura." Ashly said with a soft laugh at the end.

Ino, Konan, Hinata, Lee and Kakashi carrying Sai walk towards the small group around Ashly.

With a wave, Hinata ran quickly towards Ashly's side.

"Ashly-chan." Hinata said with a smile.

"How are you doing guys?" Ashly asked sweetly.

"We're doing okay. We can't find a trace of Naruto anywhere in this village" Hinata said sadly.

"Don't worry, Hinata. I'm sure you will find a trace of Naruto in the village." Ashly said softly in Hinata's ear.

"Yes. I'm sure we will find Naruto here and prove that he didn't die." Hinata said loudly.

Kakashi threw Sai to the ground beside the knock out Sasuke before returning to read his book.

As they all talk loudly and hope was renew for the Leaf Ninjas they didn't notice red sharingan eyes watching the group's every action.

The eyes where watching even closer on Konan and Ashly.

A note about this chapter.

The Konan and Ashly that shows up with the group are both Shadow Clones.

They were sent to stall the Leaf Ninja well the real Ashly with Konan and the rest of the Akatsuki get ready for the sealing of the Kyubbi into the statue and to start the ritual soon.

In they next chapter we will be up to the part of Naruto's death told through the eyes of his friends from the Leaf and Sand.
