Mornin'
Heyy, so this chapter is the 2nd chapter posted today and I'm really proud of it. I think it adds a lot to what you all have been wanting. I don't know when the next time I'll be able to post is because basketball is getting ready to start. But I'll try my best. Please, please, please review! I hope you all like the story and continue to read it!
Where we left off…
Ian: "I was hoping you would say that Love," I said to Mel as we cuddled up and were off to sleep.
Loren: Finally, I remember the one thing Eddie hadn't told me. I totally forgot about it all night and usually I don't forget things like that, but this night was just so amazing I had no reason to bring it up yet and of course it wasn't the right time. Lost in thought until I hear my phone buzz, it was a text reminder. I wonder who text me? I gently and slowly roll off of Eddie to get up and find my phone.
Loud thud…
Loren: Walking to the living room of the hotel room I pass the bathroom and think No I don't have to pee, but then my bladder goes oh yes you do! I make a swift turn in the hall and about bash my head on the wall but stop myself with my hands.
Eddie: I was sleeping peacefully until I hear a loud thud and then realize my girl is missing from my arms and the bed. Oh shit, is all I think as I hop out of bed searching for Loren. Worry sets in and I begin to sweat. But I'm glad I get this worried over my girl. As I'm thinking that's about the time I hear the toilet flush and now I'm just standing here in front of the bathroom with this puzzled look on my face and that's when she walks out.
Loren: "Well good mornin' to you too. What's that look for?" I asked Eddie as he stands here with a confused look on his face.
Eddie: Wiping sweat from my head I ask, "Mornin', what was the loud thud?"
Loren: Laughing at Eddie being so worried that he's sweating I say, "I just almost hit the wall when my bladder decided that if I didn't go pee now there would be pee all throughout the hall. What's with the sweat?"
Eddie: Embarrassed I answer, "It's uhhh it's hot in here."
Loren: Laughing at Eddie's pathetic lie I reply with, "Sure. Now wipe off the rest of your worry sweat and help me find my phone."
Eddie: Smiling a shy smile I walk with Loren and help her find her phone.
Coffee…
Loren: Once I find my phone I have a text from the girl at the concert. It simply is just a "thank you" text for everything I did for her and her telling me how happy she was to meet me. I reply with a "you're welcome" and a couple other inspiring words.
Eddie: Loren stops typing and that's when I ask, "Why are you up?"
Loren: "I don't know. I was sleeping fine and next thing I knew I was wide awake. You wanna go back to sleep?"
Eddie: "No I'll just get some coffee."
Loren: "Alright well I'm gonna call my mom, I know she's up."
Eddie: "Pops is probably up too. He never did sleep well in hotels; that's why we have houses and bungalows everywhere. He says he can make those feel more like home."
Loren: "Alright. Now are you making coffee or tea?"
Eddie: "Really?"
Both: "Coffee."
Loren: "Knew it," I said with a smile on my face as he walked toward the kitchen to get some coffee going.
Phone call (5:30 ishh)…
Nora: My phone was ringing and I finally made my way to answer it. I whispered to max that it was Loren as I said hello on the phone. He laughed because we were just talking about the kids. "Hey sweetie, what're you doing up?"
Loren: "Couldn't sleep."
Nora: "Is something wrong?"
Loren: "No mom. Now is Max awake?"
Nora: "Yes, why?"
Loren: Yelling to Eddie, "You were right!" To Nora, "Eddie said he would be awake so I was just checking."
Nora: "Well, if Eddie's awake put him on the phone too. We have some questions for you guys."
Loren: I waved to Eddie to come here as I placed the phone on the table and hit the speaker phone button, "Nothing happened mom, if that's what you're gonna ask."
Nora: Placing my phone on speaker phone too, "No that's not I was gonna ask, but that's good too. But we want to know this tea vs. coffee story. You both had said something to one of us but never really told us the story and well Max doesn't like tea either."
Eddie & Loren: Laughing and smiling at each other, "Oh, mom that was the night Eddie and I pulled an all-nighter and watched the sunset, member?"
Nora: "Yes, I remember."
Eddie: Interrupting, "Why don't you guys give us some time to both take showers and get ready and we can discuss this over breakfast because I'm starving…" hears a growl through the phone, "…and I can tell Pops is too."
Max: "Sounds great! Meet us in the lobby in an hour?"
Loren: "Sounds good. Bye guys!"
All: "Love you!"
Nora: As I go to hang up the phone I can hear that Loren hasn't hung up yet and you can hear them messing around and arguing about who's gonna get in the shower first so the other doesn't have to go without hot water. And that's when Max and I hear Eddie say something about taking a shower together.
Max: "Son you better not say that again, Nora and I might have to come supervise you all!"
Eddie: Blushing and asking, "You didn't hang up?"
Loren: Laughing, "Oops." "It was a joke!"
Nora: "Better have been!"
Loren: Laughing at Eddie and this time hitting the end call button.
Shower time (6:00 ishh)…
Eddie: "You got me in trouble," I say in a little kid tone and place on a pouty face.
Loren: "Don't say those things and we wouldn't have a problem." I say winking at him.
Eddie: "You like it."
Loren: "No."
Eddie: "Sure," I say raising my eyebrows at her. "Now hurry up and go take your shower!"
Loren: "Really?"
Eddie: "You better go now before I regret saying it."
Loren: Taking off toward my suit case to get clothes and heading to the bathroom Eddie yells to not use all the hot water and I laughingly yell back "Love you!"
Copier…
Max: "You know Eddie was kidding right?"
Nora: "I hope so, but if he wasn't we would find out when we see them in an hour."
Max: "True, but…"
Nora: "What?"
Max: "We both need showers and…"
Nora: "Wow, you copy your son a lot."
Max: "It's not coping; he learned everything he knows from me."
Nora: "Oh sure. Let's go Mr. Duran." I say grabbing Max's hand and heading to the shower.
6:30…
Eddie: I pour myself a cup of coffee and head over to the couch. I turn the stereo on in the room and grab my phone. Looking at it I see the text from Tyler and read it again, "I'm glad you've decided not to help her. Also glad you want to talk, but I guess you do deserve this. Man, look, I was in the car. I know that's so messed up! I used to call her my Mom too. I guess after the accident my life just went down from there. Hands down that was the worst mistake of my life! I hate myself for everything I became after that night, but I'm trying to change. I'm so God damn sorry for everything man! But look, I don't wanna talk about all this through text. We need to meet up in person and have a talk, a civil talk." This time I'm actually going to reply. Rereading this text hurts, but it also gives me this feeling. If Tyler is ballsy enough to tell me the truth then he must really have changed. I think for a minute and I realize what to say back, "Wow, I actually read this text as soon as you sent it and it almost ruined my night so much that I was gonna go get a drink instead of having a perfect night with Loren. But then I realized you were drunk or tipsy whatever, but I can't blame you for everything. And honestly I don't want to know any more details all that matters is the person who was actually driving the car is in jail. I don't care what you had to do with it. I can tell you are trying to change and that showed last night in this text. It also made me realize that I helped to screw up your life. I went after the one thing you had always wanted and man I'm so damn sorry! But I agree we need to talk about this in person and I hope that can be soon. When are you free?" That message took about 5 minutes to type and now I'm almost done with my coffee. Loren is still in the shower so I go put my cup by the sink, stick my phone in my pocket and make my way to my suit case to pick out my clothes for today. I grab a pair of red cargo shorts and a blue and white V-neck and lay it out. The only thing I'm taking to the bathroom with me is my boxers, hopefully Loren doesn't mind ;). After getting my clothes Loren is still in the shower and it's almost 6:30, but its okay because Tyler just text me back. He said, "That's fine with me because actually I'm trying so hard to destroy that night from my head and all the terrible nights after that. Most of them are gone because I was too drunk to remember them lol. But anyways I'm actually in Chicago and am about to start filming a movie with Oz. He's out of jail it really was just a big mix up. Please don't try to steal my part lol! But I'm gonna be up here for awhile. And I think I might have re-found the love of my life, NOT CHLOE! And I might stay up here to be with her. So whenever you can fly up here would be nice." It was good to hear Tyler admit that he had had a problem before. It was also good to know that he was staring his acting career again and with the big time produced Osborne Silver. I'm sitting here thinking and I'm starting to wonder who this "Love of his life" could be.
Two friends' texting…
Tyler: Eddie was my second surprising text this morning and then just a couple of what felt like seconds Eddie is responding back to my text and he says, "That's great man! And I won't try to take your part; I don't want to do movies lol! Umm well I'm in New York and don't have time to fly there for awhile but I was wanting to take Loren somewhere for graduation. Maybe I can fly up there first we can talk and then I can fly her up there after or something like that, who knows. But you've got me thinking 'bout this girl. Is it Traci?" Well I'm glad him and Loren are still going strong through all there drama, but how in the world did he figure out so quickly that it was Traci? He's a crazy good thinker! I reply back saying, "Alright just let me know! And umm how'd you know?" It was a simple reply, but it seemed like we were just two friends texting now.
Eddie: I'm just relaxing on the bed waiting for both Loren to get out of the shower and Tyler to text back. Of course My Girl would take the longest because now Tyler and I are just having a conversation. I read his text and reply, "Well you used to always flirt with her and I know she and Jake broke up and she's living in Chicago." I didn't want to give Tyler too much info but I figure he was gonna find out sooner or later.
Tyler:"Do you think they will get a divorce?"
Eddie:"Umm I can't be for sure because I know Jake loves her so much. I used to think he and Traci were perfect but I can tell they are far from it and they need to work things out. But a word of advice for you if that's cool?"
Tyler:"Shoot…" Eddie is actually being nice to me for once. It's crazy how just one apology and a couple texts can change things.
Eddie:"Just start out as Traci's friend and take it super slow. She's not gonna want another relationship so quickly. At the most she's looking for someone who will be there for her, no matter what. I know her and Kelly aren't friends anymore so she just lost her best friend and her dad's not doing well so just try to be there for her and DON'T BE SELFISH. If she asks what to do with the situation between her and Jake just tell her what you think in the nicest way possible and don't even say too much. I once asked Loren if I should get back with Chloe and she was so kind about it and just said how she didn't know much about our relationship and I was just glad that even through a tough question like that she still found a way to answer. Also don't get mad at her when things take a long time no matter what it is. Be calm and try to spend time with her, but don't bug her too much and don't try to get with her everyday or anything like that." This was probably the greatest advice I've ever giver Tyler. Neither one of us is drunk; and we are both more experienced.
Tyler:"That's actually really good advice for a pretty boy JK. But thanks so much Ed! I'm really glad we can actually be men and work this out in a civil way instead of fighting all the time because damn my fists are really starting to hurt lol."
Eddie:We are both such smart asses but that's okay because for the first time in a long time we are starting to see eye to eye. "Man you know I hit you more times than you ever hit me lol."
Tyler:"Yeah cause you're like a freaky ninja and come out of nowhere!"
Eddie:"Excuses, excuses lol."
Tyler:"Lol. Alright man I gotta get going. I have to go to Chloe's court hearing."
Eddie:"Wait, why?"
Tyler:"I got some call from some guy telling me if I wasn't there I was going to be arrested."
Eddie:"That doesn't sound right…"
Tyler:"Trust me I know. I'm nervous as shit to go there."
Eddie:"I can get some people to watch out for you."
Tyler:"No way, it's cool man. Everything will be okay." Man I swear this boy gets way too protective.
Eddie:"No way, I'm setting up some people for you now. They won't talk to you, but they will be there and save your ass if they have to. Now I seriously have to go. I've got 20 minutes to take a shower and get to the hotel lobby and Pretty Boy here needs more than 20 minutes lol." After typing this text I finally here the water turn off.
Tyler:"Alright, alright fine. I'll text after the hearing and let you know I'm okay and everything."
Eddie:"Alright man." And with that I'm done talking to Tyler for now and I get to spend the rest of the day with people I love in a beautiful city. Loren is now walking into the bedroom and looks as beautiful as ever even though her hair is up in a towel and she has no makeup on.
"Air dry"…
Max: Nora and were just getting out of the shower and it was about 6:40. We figure we have plenty of time because the kids are always late. So we didn't rush to get ready or anything. Nora put on her a bra and panties and I boxers but we were just sitting here "letting our bodies air dry" and talking about renovating the house so I could move in. Nora wasn't telling me earlier that she wasn't gonna let Loren move out she was just saying that she wanted both kids to have a bedroom at our house just in case they wanted to come home for a day or for any other reason. I knew that we didn't have to write down any notes because Nora remembers everything.
Cold Shower…
Loren: As I walk into the bedroom I see Eddie's clothes laid out and him relaxing on the bed with his phone out. "Ahhh that was such a great shower!" I say to get his attention.
Eddie: "Yeah, it only took 40 minutes now I only get 20 minutes to make myself look all pretty." I say jokingly.
Loren: "What're you a pretty boy now?"
Eddie: "According to Tyler I always have been."
Loren: "Tyler?" I say wondering why he is bringing him up.
Eddie: "Oh, yeah we just had a 10 minute text conversation."
Loren: "Good or bad?"
Eddie: "Good, actually. I'll tell you about it later but for now I have to get in the shower."
Loren: As he gets up and starts walking toward the bathroom I grab his waste and kiss his lips and then his neck and chest and back up to his lips. He just gives me this "what was that for look" and I tell him, "Now you need the cold shower you are about to get." He laughs, kisses my cheek, and whispers in my ear "I will get you back for this." And then he is off to the shower. I take my hair out or the towel and brush it, I decide I don't feel like doing anything with it so I brush it back and place it in a ponytail and leave my bangs out. I mean it is six in the morning and I'm just wearing grey jeans and a pink V-neck. Plus I put on the necklace my mom and I both wear everyday and the bracelet Eddie just got me.
Longest way…
Nora: After a while of talking Max and I decide to get ready. I put on blue jean Capri's and an orange tank top and Max throws on some tan cargo shorts and one of his band T-shirts. It's about 6:55 and there was nothing else for us left to do so we start walking to the lobby knowing no matter how slow we will walk the kids will be late. But we don't care because we are used to it. But by Max's choice we decide to walk the longest way possible to the lobby and just talk about anything and everything.
Shocked…
Eddie: Loren was right I did need that cold shower. She was way too beautiful for me to not get turned on at her slightest touch. I took about a ten minute shower, dried off, and walked the bedroom with my boxers on to find Loren lying on the bed writing in her notebook. "New song idea?" I ask.
Loren: Jumping at Eddie's words, "Huh?" and then surprised at what he was wearing I say, "uhhh yeah."
Eddie: "What is this not okay?"
Loren: "Oh, no trust me it is I'm just shocked."
Eddie: "Shocked at what?"
Loren: "Your body…"
Eddie: "I know I'm not in shape."
Loren: "No you are fine, it's just that you are still so scratched and bruised up. Maybe you need to see a doctor."
Eddie: "I can't yet. Not till we go back home. Then I will, I promise."
Loren: "Why do you wanna wait?" I ask as he starts to get dressed.
Eddie: Hurrying to get my shirt over my head I say, "Because I want to just spend time with you not worry about me."
Loren: Grabbing my phone and purse and Eddie grabbing his phone and walking out the door, "You are way too selfless and I love you for that."
Eddie: Hitting the elevator button, "That's the only reason?"
Loren: "Of course not!" I say and then back him into the elevator wall and kiss him. As our lips meet the door closes and Eddie somehow hits the lobby floor button and that's when…
