CHAPTER 6: The End of the universe
"So where are we going now?" Marissa asked. She sounded half excited, half worried. I would be to.
"I just need to take a quick rest." He said with a smile.
"Kind of like a pit stop?" Marissa chuckled. I giggled with her. The Doctor was going all over the place. There was a screen showing what was going on outside. My head cocked to the side as I saw a man running towards the TARDIS. He had a long and heavy wool looking jacket with big gold buttons flopping in the wind. Underneath it looked like he was wearing a blue buttoned down shirt. Really dark blue pants and boots. I turned to the Doctor who seemed to be occupied with the TARDIS. With that, the Doctor pulled the trigger and we travelled through time once again. He seemed to be intrigued by the screen that was filled with weird circle symbols. That must've been Galefreyian.
"Five trillion years into the future that can't be right." He said holding onto the screen.
"Why what's wrong?" Marissa asked. The Doctor turned to her.
"Marissa, Jade. We're going to the end of the universe." He looked at me for awhile. It was strange hearing him say my name other than the time when he was human. We were there in the nick of time.
"We should probably leave, this is very bad." Said the Doctor. He turned to the two us and smiled. Yeah right are we leaving. The three of us giggled and ran to the door. The Doctor grabbed his long trench coat. We looked out the TARDIS door and we were in a barren waist land. It appeared to be night time. I looked around and gasped at the sight of a man lying on the ground. It was the man from the screen, was he dead?
"Who's that?" I asked as I ran to him. The man was young and handsome just like the Doctor. Judging by the size, his eyes were small. He had short black hair that was a little spiked up. I heard footsteps and Marissa ran over with a first aid kit she found. The Doctor was staring at us the whole time as if he was waiting for something to happen.
"He's a friend of mine. Use to travel with me. He must've been hanging onto the TARDIS while we were in the time vortex. " The Doctor looked away for a second. Suddenly, the man gasped for air. He looked at Marissa and smiled.
"Well hello there. Captain Jack Harkins." He grabbed her hand and shook it.
"And what's your name miss?" I heard Marissa giggle. I turned to the Doctor and smiled. He rolled his eyes but smiled at me.
"Marissa Maravilla." She chuckled. Jack smiled.
"Nice to meet you Marissa Maravilla. Pleasure." He kissed her hand and stood up. He noticed me and grabbed my hand too.
"Who are you?" He asked as he kissed my hand. My face turned bright red.
"Jade. Jade Collier." I giggled. The Doctor interrupted our introduction by stepping in front of us. Jealousy.
"Alright. She's mine so don't even think about it." The Doctor demanded. Two guys fighting over me? Awesome. I turned to Marissa and gave her a thumbs up. She winked. After the little introduction the Doctor walked off. Jack wrapped his arms around us and asked us questions. He then started to talk about himself.
"I'm a time agent meaning I could travel anywhere in time too." He showed this band around his wrist.
"I could travel with this." He bragged. I heard the Doctor sigh.
"That's not even a good time machine. I have something even better. Like my TARDIS is a camaro and your's is a dinky little car." The Doctor was trying to act all high and mighty with his big TARDIS.
"Boys and their toys. I think it's cool that you even have a time machine at all." I laughed.
"Ha, see even your girlfriend think it's cool. What do you think Marissa?" Jack teased.
"Oh who cares!" The Doctor shouted at the three of us. Someone was a little edgy right now. The Doctor stopped at the edge of a hill. The three of us followed. We saw a person, a man to be exact, running. What was he running from? Suddenly, a heard of people with torches and spears were chasing him. Question answered.
"I think there's a hunting going on." Said the Doctor as he ran down the hill to help the poor man. Without thinking, the three of us did the same.
"What's going on mister?" The Doctor asked. The man seemed to be in his early thirties at the least. He had short black messed up hair along with a small beard. He had a blue jacket and a dark colored shirt.
"Those monsters were following me when I was on my way to silo." The man answered.
"What's silo?" The Doctor asked.
"A place for survivors." The man answered. Closer and closer the monster people were coming. Jack pulled out a gun and was ready to fire.
"All for silo?" The Doctor asked. All of us agreed and we ran with the man.
"Jack don't you dare!" The Doctor shouted. Upset, Jack placed the gun back in his jacket. It took us awhile but we reached a gate where people were guarding the inside with guns.
"Show us your teeth" the guard shouted and everyone obeyed. They opened the gate and quickly let us in. The monster people shouted in anger.
"Human!" The kept shouting. The leader in the front was speaking an unknown language.
After things calmed down, they brought us to this building that was filled with homeless people it seemed.
