LONG LIVE THE QUEEN

~Scootaloo

Scootaloo was lucky, in a sense. She had no home, no family, and no cutie mark, but she had awesome friends. Applejack had kept up Scootaloo's bluff, and she filed down in some part of her brain that she would repay the earth pony one day. She was currently sitting in the waiting room of the hospital, Applejack next to her. The doctor had dismissed her after a few quick jabs with a needle, and Scootaloo was feeling better already. Then the questions began.

"Your legal guardian? Scootaloo, that seems a bit of an extreme lie for wanting to not get in trouble with your parents." Applejack said, and Scootaloo winced at the word parents. Her parents still thought she was staying with her uncle Greengrass. Ha. Her uncle moved to Fillydelphia when she was on the trip to Ponyville after her parents entered the Wonderbolts, nearly two years ago. They never sent so much as a letter to her over the years. They didn't care for her. A single tear rolled down her face and Applejack's eyes widened, realising why Scootaloo had lied.

"Scootaloo, it's OK, Ah didn't know. Ah'm sorry." Applejack scooted closer to the filly. Scootaloo started crying feely, and Applejack did her best to comfort her. "You know what, sugarcube? You can stay at Sweet Apple Acres, if you like. We're always welcoming." Scootaloo dried her tears and looked into Applejack's eyes.

"You mean it?" She whispered.

"Ah' the element of Honesty, Ah always mean it." Scootaloo then crushed Applejack with her biggest hug.

"Thank you."

~Applebloom

Applebloom blinked, not believing her eyes. She wasn't in the hospital anymore. She was standing in a ginormous throne room, complete with stained glass windows and decorative flowers lining the walls. She stepped forward and tripped over something. It was a golden scepter lying on the floor. She stepped around it and made her way over to a large golden throne lined with red velvet. Apple blossoms were engraved into it in an intricate pattern, and Applebloom somehow knew it was meant for her. She sat slowly down on it, and doing so she realised she was wearing a flowing red cloak with a large crown atop her head.

"All hail Queen Applebloom!" A chorus of voices rang out, and ponies suddenly materialized in the room. None of them had cutie marks. Applebloom should have been shocked, but she wasn't. She smiled. Maybe I could get a cutie mark in Royalty! the thought, and checked her flank out of habit more than actual purpose. What she saw shocked her to the core. A beautiful tiara made out of apple blossoms was emblazioned on her flank.

"Hail Queen Applebloom!" The crowd called out again.

"Yes, hail me." Applebloom whispered under her breath.

Somewhere far away, Discord smirked.
