~Discord
It was dark in his prison. Cold. Lonely. He couldn't move, reminding him of his previous prison. But there had been light there. He saw the outside. He had company. Most of the time.
Was this what they had felt? No, he would never do this to her. Then he remembered. He remembered why he loved her.
"I know that isn't true." She said, standing up from the mud puddle. "My friends would do anything for me. I already learnt that, many times before."
Discord was confused, for the first time in eons.
"But they're always ignoring you! Calling you random, silly, STUPID PINKIE PIE!"
"Do you honestly think I believe that, after all we went through?" She said, with a defiant glint in her blue eyes.
Discord growled, popping the balloon he had transformed into and showing his full self. "So you want to do this the hard way, huh?" He said, placing a talon on the top of her head. Nothing happened. His powers had failed him.
He flew off quickly, into a corner of the garden. Pinkie looked at him with surprise, and trotted over to him. Discord was crying. He couldn't remember the last time he cried. But he was now, for he knew the only thing that had ever stopped him before was love. True love, not some passing fancy. And Discord was scared. Because bad things often happened to ponies he loved. He felt a gentle hoof on his shoulder and he looked up into Pinkie's eyes.
"Discord?" She said, confused at the supposedly evil creature's behavior. "What's wrong?"
"If I didn't manage to change you into something you're not, I would have to go back to stone and I-I just can't!" He lied. It might not have been a full lie, he didn't want to go back to his prison, but it was for different reasons the pink pony might think. He didn't want to stay because of power, or fun. He wanted to stay because of her.
Pinkie smiled sadly at him. "You're in love, aren't you?" Discord started. How had she seen through him so easily?
Pinkie laughed at his surprise. "I bet she's really nice. And as how I saw through you, I've been in love before. I know how it feels to love someone but never feel like they are going to accept you. And for that, I'll play along."
Discord frowned quizzically at her. "You are very deep for a pony so... Random."
Pinkie laughed. "You're not to bad yourself for an evil spirit of chaos!"
"Evil? Who told you that?" Discord made a halo appear above his head. "I'm as angelic as Celestia!"
"And that's why you want to take over the world." Pinkie countered.
"Take over the world? I'm just borrowing it for a while!" The two chaotic creatures laughed together.
"So what do I have to do?" Pink asked through giggles.
"Weeeelllll... You would have to act a bit grumpy."
"Like this?" Pinkie asked, mock scowling.
"You should be in the acting career, not a baker!" Discord exclaimed, mimicking a upper class Canterlotian.
Pinkie snorted with laughter at Discord's surprisingly realistic mimicktry. "Okay, then what?"
"I would make you greyer every so often, and you would have to get even nastier. Just don't take anything they say to you as real, I would have really Discorded the rest of them."
"Why? You could persuade me to fake it, why not them?"
"Unfortunately, some ponies don't appreciate me like you do, but don't worry. The change is completely reversible. They'll be back to their old selves in no time, once I finish wreaking a bit of chaos."
Pinkie contemplated this, before smiling. "It's a deal!"
Later...
"Pinkie Pie!" Twilight called out, finding her friend in the remains of the balloon garden. "Are we glad to see you you!"
"Oh you are, huh? Why? Need a good laugh?!" As Pinkie trotted ahead of her friends, she winked at Discord, who only she could see in his invisible form. And Discord smiled back.
