Blue Skies and Sunshine

"I do," Cammie replied, as her and Zach walked toward her mother and Joe, who were about to get married.

Things were silent as they walked back to the beautiful, Macey-fied wedding. There wasn't room for talking when all you could do was take it all in. The beauty, the innocence of it all. Wasn't that what a wedding was supposed to be? Innocent?

Cammie looked at Joe for a facial expression. He was happy, he was finally happy. Her mom would get a brand new start.

Cammie looked upwards, toward the blue skies, in heaven, where she knew her daddy was resting peacefully. Daddy would be happy about this, she thought. Daddy loves Joe.

"Gallagher Girl?" Zach said when they arrived. She looked at him. "Walk a bit faster. You can't possibly expect me to let you be this slow when it's our turn, can you?"

Cammie blushed. Zach wasn't one to talk about stuff like that. It definitely wasn't a Zach thing to say, but then again, it would come up at one point, wouldn't it?

"I suppose not," Cameron said, regaining her posture. "But you know, brides are supposed to walk slowly. You can't expect them to run down the aisle." She replied, cocking her head. "Madame Dabney would be highly disappointed."

"How do you expect grooms to keep it all in?" Zach said, looking down at her. Cammie wasn't short, but she wasn't tall. "It's like watching a beautiful girl just walk down the street and not saying a thing to her."

Cammie snapped her head up at him and squinted. "Oh, so you watch beautiful girls walk away from you now, huh?"

"Well, of course I do," Zach smirked. "How else would I have met you, Gallagher Girl?"

Finally, it was time. The people were waiting. The wedding photographer was starving. And the caterer was pretty sure he was never doing a McHenry wedding again.

Of course, things had to wait two minutes. Macey almost went down the aisle with a headset on.

One by one the bridesmaids and groomsmen went down the aisle. As Zach and Cammie walked down, Joe smiled hugely. He knew one day soon they wouldn't be walking down the aisle at someone else's wedding.

Then out came Aunt Abby, with Rachel by her side. Rachel was lovely. Her dress fitted her perfectly, and you by looking at her, she didn't look a day over 30 (even though she was 42). It was as if spies never aged.

Cammie looked at her mother, tears in her eyes. And even though Macey didn't say a thing about her makeup, she still kept it in. For now.

Soon enough, the vows had been said.

"You may kiss the bride," echoed through the room. Joe didn't hesitate to scoop up Rachel in his arms and kiss her. They walked down the aisle, hand in hand, surrounded by the sound of clapping and hooting and hollering. Then went the pairs of bridesmaids and groomsmen, each beautiful paired together. (Preston looked nervous, though. He must've thought spy weddings meant spy games at the reception, which he was so not prepared for.)

Then went Zachary and Cameron, the two inseparable graduates, to the reception.

"I'd like to make a toast," Abby said, standing up with a glass of champagne in her hands. "To my beautiful big sister, who's taught me everything I know that's important about life. She's always been with me. I love her and I love Joe, they're both so close with me," she paused, almost looking like she was going to cry. "And I loved Matthew too, and I know that he would've loved this. He loves you too, Rachel. And he loves you too, Joe."

And as a tear went down the face of both Rachel and Joe, everyone raised their glasses. "To Rachel and Joe," they said in unison.

Then up stood Zachary Goode, who had been forced in a tie, but looked like he was born to wear one, saying, "I'd also like to make a toast, to Joe. Thanks for always being there for me, Uncle Joe. Thanks for taking me with you, and teaching me about life, and that it's okay to be in love," he looked down at Cammie. "I love you both, congratulations."

Everyone raised their glasses in unison again, "To Joe."

Then Cameron rose, holding up a glass, "I'd like to make a toast as well, to my mom. I love you a lot, Mom. Thanks for dealing with me and everything I've done, thanks for teaching me, thanks for looking out for me, and thanks for loving me," Cameron said. "I love you, Mom."

The glasses were raised, "To Rachel."

"So much love in one room," Zach said as everyone was on the dance floor.

"It's a wedding, what'd you expect?" Cammie replies, raising an eyebrow.

"Well, for people to be killing each other of course," Zach said with a grin.

"Don't jinx it," Cammie warned him, looking over at Macey, who was finally dancing with Preston instead of yelling at a scared waiter.

"I won't, I won't," Zach assured her, smirking as usual. Then he got a tad serious as he said, "So, Gallagher Girl, when are we running away again?"

She looked at him and sighed, "Do we always have to be on the run?"

He shrugged at looked at her, taking her hand. "I guess not. As long as you remain my girlfriend."

"Maybe I don't want to be your girlfriend," Cammie said, taking her hand away and sticking her tongue out at him.

He grinned. "Good. Then you can just be my wife."

Cammie hadn't even noticed the ring that had slipped on her finger, or Zach reaching in his pocket for it in the first place. She looked at him, raising her eyebrows. "Am I obliged to say yes?"

"Well, I suppose you could say no, Gallagher Girl," Zach said, never losing his smirk. "You are fond of rejecting me. I'd just have to try again."

"Hmm," Cammie said, pretending to think. "No, I think I like it. It really suits me, doesn't it?"

"I'd be lying if I said it didn't," Zach replied.

"Then I'll keep it," she said. "Does that mean I have to keep you too?"

"I think that's the point."

"I guess I could live with the pain."

"Oh please, Gallagher Girl. You know you want me."

"You can't want something you already have," She replied, grinning widely.

"Just say yes, won't you?" Zach said, pretending to be annoyed. "I kind of need an official yes."

"Not if you don't kiss me first."

So he did. He leaned in and grabbed her waist, pulling her closer and kissing her with everything he had. When they pulled apart, Zach looked at her deeply.

"Yes."

"Are you sure about that, Gallagher Girl?" he smirked. "You won't get tired of me?"

"Who could get tired of you, Blackthorne Boy?"
