I do not own Harry Potter
Epilogue
When he would look back to this moment, it would always bring a smile to his face, no matter what the condition.
God knows until when he was going to use this memory, this moment for his patronus.
The moment when Teddy Remus Lupin was placed in his awaiting arms for the first time.
A great wizard in the making, indeed!
He was sure his happiness was contagious because when he had visited Muriel's to apparate Molly back to her family and tell them about Teddy's birth and had visited Shell cottage to tell Harry about birth of his godson, the stars have seemed brighter and night had appeared a little less dark. He had not got himself this drunk since Merlin knows when and yet had managed to remain perfectly sober.
He had also apparated to his father's place to share the good news. When Lyall Lupin had seen his son on his doorway in the dead of the night with a goofy grin glued to his face, the expression on his face had been priceless. Which was nothing compared to the surprise and shock that was etched on his father's face once he had told him about his newly born grandson. He had almost danced with happiness. Because as much as delight, Teddy's birth had brought for Remus, he knew it had also fulfilled Lyall's dream of seeing his only son settled, leading a normal life. Remus had bid farewell to his father promising to bring photographs of Teddy in a few days' time. He had wanted for his father to see his grandson personally, but it had been too dangerous.
Then there was his wife, Dora. She was a different case entirely because she had always increased his any happiness tenfold. They have not stopped smiling for hours.
Currently, he was sitting in their bed, with Teddy bundled in blue blanket tucked in his arms and Dora leaning on his shoulder, both observing their son. She was utterly exhausted and when he had asserted her to have some sleep, she had insisted him that she had slept while he was out informing others. And truth to be told, he wanted her to be by his side, to watch their son flail his arms, or look at his little eyes wandering here and there or see his chest falling up and down with each breath he took or note his hairs changing colors...
He was as beautiful as Dora, though she had pressed that he looked like him. They have already snapped about ten pictures of him; Dora had not wished to miss even a single moment of his life.
Dora poked him in the arms and said:
"Give him to me now; you have been holding him for too long."
At that he cuddled Teddy further into his arm, draping another arm onto her shoulders pulling her closer."You have been carrying him for nine months; I didn't say anything, did I? Now it's my chance."
"You can very well carry the baby next time, I really won't mind." she sniggered into his shoulder.
"You want there to be a next time? Because pregnant Dora is a menace." he said teasingly tracing her temple with his lips.
She slapped on his arms. "I remember you saying something contrary to it few days back, along the lines of 'pregnant Dora is a beautiful Dora'."
He traced his thumb across Teddy's sandy brown hairline and answered her. "Oh, that's my personal flaw. I think I would always find you beautiful, in all state whether you are covered in warts or mud. I think something's up with my eye." He nodded as if truly believing his own theory.
"Oh look you distracted me! Give me my baby."
"I am your baby, he's your son or do I have a competition now?" he wiggled his eyebrows at her.
"Oh stop being loony Lupin."
They both turned to Teddy just in time to see Teddy yawning rather dramatically and Remus couldn't curb the urge to coo, no matter how unmanly it appeared to be.
He made all sort of noises and exclamations right from aww to awaao owww, etc, to lull his now awake son back to sleep, which sent Dora into a fit of giggles, because he was sure he really appeared quite funny and stupid behaving like a little kid.
But if there was one occasion when he should probably behave like a little kid it was with his little son.
Here went his oath of never exclaming aww and truth to be told he didn't give a toss.
He looked over at his smiling and sniggering wife, told her with tender amusement with underlying seriousness.
"Thank you."
Dora looked him into his eyes, nuzzling his nose and placing a peck on his lips before bending down to their son to press a kiss to his forehead.
"Believe me, the pleasure was all mine."
