Epilogue: Peter's Initiation

It was raining hard. The death eaters, twenty in total were gathered together in a tight circle. Voldemort stood in the centre of the circle with Peter Pettigrew at his feet. "Pettigrew, you want to join me?" Voldemort asked.

"Y-yes my lord," Peter replied. He was stuttering like a fool.

"Why?" Voldemort asked.

"Because there is no point fighting against you," Peter told him.

"No point?" Voldemort tilted his head to the side, "why not?"

"Because I've lost everything… I've lost her," Peter cried.

"Ah… of course… Mary McDonald…" Voldemort chuckled, "so you can't live without the love of your life?"

"I might live but I can't be happy."

"So you would rather be one of my servants?" Voldemort laughed, "as you wish…" Voldemort beckoned for his followers to bring someone else into the circle.

"Peter, to join me you will have to prove your loyalty."

"How my lord?" Peter asked.

Voldemort chuckled, "you will have to kill him."

"K-K-kill him?" Peter stammered.

"Right now," Voldemort grinned.

"A-Ava…" Peter tried.

"Try harder Pettigrew or I'll have to kill you," Voldemort frowned.

"Avada Kadavra!"

The man fell to the ground, dead. Peter stared into his lifeless eyes – he couldn't believe what he had just done.
