Although Natasha never really had to comfort anyone in a situation like this, she hoped she was doing her best to show Steve that he could let all of his frustrations and anger out. Maybe that wasn't his style of dealing with things but it would be better than seeing him so depressed.
Still she felt that she had made progress. She at least found out why he's been so reserved and now she just had to help him see he isn't really alone.
True that the Avengers and all of the new people in his life couldn't ever replace the people he once knew and fought alongside with but they could at least try to help him overcome some of the pain.
"I'm sorry." Steve said softly. "I'm sorry about all of this."
"Don't apologize." Natasha said. "You were in pain and couldn't figure out how to handle it properly. We've all been there, Steve. Yours was just a little harder to figure out. No one has ever gone through a situation like yours before."
"Still, I shouldn't have been so harsh to all of you. You were just trying to help me."
"We knew that something was bothering you, Steve. Now that we know, we can do everything we can to help you feel better."
"Nothing can ever make me feel better about what happened." Steve said as he pulled away from Natasha. "I knew what I was doing when I crashed the plane but I never believed I would survive it. Had I known, I would have thought of something I could have done. Tried to find another way to stay with everyone I knew."
"Steve, you did what you had to because you knew there was no other way. We all know that you wanted to stay in your time. We can never replace those people you cared for but maybe you can see this as a new chance at a new life. Kind of like being born again."
"I don't think that's for me." Steve said. "That would mean turning my back on everyone and everything that was part of my life then. I can't do that."
"Maybe you can give it some time. You don't have to turn your back on everything about your life then but maybe it can be a way for you to start letting go."
"I'll think about it."
"Good. That's all I ask. That and for you to eat." Natasha said.
"Alright." Steve agreed and moved over to the table to eat the food Natasha brought him.
Just to make sure that he ate, the spy stayed and watched him eat every bite of food. Steve was begining to get back on the right path and she was going to make sure he stayed that way.
