Previously

I sat on one of the pool chairs and stared out into the pool silently. That was when I saw Sakura's head pop out and also when I noticed how beautiful she looked. I really had to think of a plan fast before I loose her to someone else.

Chapter 12

Xx Sakura's P.O.V xX

It's already been 2 weeks since my shameful confession to Sasuke. I don't even know if it would be considered a confession the way things were. For the past 2 weeks after the slumber party at Ino's we've been practicing our buts off for this very day. The first round of preliminaries, also my first ever tournament of my high school career. Overall I am tremendously excited but at the same time worried. But for now all I have to do is enjoy the upcoming games like I planned to.

*Brr… Brr…*

I took out my phone and looked at the caller ID, seeing Naruto's goofy pic.

"Hello?" I asked as I answered the phone.

"Yo. Are you coming right now? Everyone is here except for you." He replied urgently.

"Yeah I'm almost there. Stupid pig said she was going to pick me up but she ended up forgetting." I growled as I started to pick up my pace.

"Hey don't blame me!" I heard Ino yell through the phone.

"Yeah yeah whatever, I need to go bye."

A few minutes later I was there meeting up with everyone at the front door of the big stadium like building. We were all wearing the same uniform consisting of a blue and white tracksuit with the words KONOHA HIGH on the back in big black words. As for our jersey it was a collared yonex t-shirt that was also blue and white with KONOHA HIGH and our names below it in bold print.

"Great everyone's here. Lets go in," Neji suggested.

We went to the registration area to put our names in, and went to stretch and warm up.

"Saks, are you ready?" Asked an overly excited blonde female.

"Yes. Yes I am," I replied calmly.

Ino and I stretched together as we laughed and soon Tenten and Hinata came as well. I was happy that this was my team. Everyone is so kind even if some people didn't show it. I glanced over at the boys and caught Sasuke looking at me. When he saw me looking back and catching him red handed, he quickly looked away as a blush started to creep up my neck.

W-why was he even staring at me in the first place? Did I do something weird without noticing?

"Is something wrong Saki?" Asked an amused brunet. It was quite obvious she had just encountered Sasuke and my interaction.

"N-nothing!" I squealed without thinking. "There's nothing wrong really."

"Oh is that so~"

I looked down embarrassed knowing she saw what had happened.

"Konoha High. Mitaka High. Please report to the courts in room 360. I repeat, Konoha High. Mitaka High. Please report to the courts in room 360."

"Lets go!" Naruto shouted not minding those around him.

"Stupid dope," growled an enraged Sasuke.

As we walked towards our designated area, I couldn't help but realize how perfect Sasuke looked in our team uniform. It was as if the uniform was made especially for him. Realizing that I was staring, I looked away quickly scolding myself for being so attracted to him. What was wrong with me? This is no time to think of such things.

Xx Sasuke's P.O.V. xX

God dammit! It's been 2 weeks and I haven't talked to her properly yet! Inside I was dying from not being able to do anything but that wasn't important right now. I had to think about the games up ahead. After all I was the captain and our coach was bound to be late like usual. But even so, there's no doubt about it… the coach is extremely talented.

We got into the room and we took a bench to put our stuff. The other team was already there and even though there should be no problem in beating them there was still this ominous feeling that was being emitted from them.

The gym was big with a 3 courts meant for schools to play at the same time. The gym also looked like a stadium. There were seats surrounding the courts for audiences that come.

"Lady and Gentlemen the matches of Mitaka High and Konoha high will start in 5 minutes," the umpire said.

"Alright, here's the matches," I declared as I showed them the draws that were given to me.

PREMLIMINARY ROUNDS

ROUND 1

XD- Uzamaki Naruto & Hyuuga Hinata vs. Matsumura Yu & Koaga Inoe

MD- Nara Shikamaru & Hyuuga Neji vs. Hitsugaya Toshiro & Cho Arashi

WD- Uzamaki Tenten & Yamanaka Ino vs. Shiraha Ai & Kurotsushi Nana

WS- Haruno Sakura vs. Hayashi Yui

MS- Uchiha Sasuke vs. Sasaki Kei

"Alright, Naruto, Hinata, get ready and warm up. We can do this," I said with a confident smirk on my face. It was true, I knew we were going to be able to win but it was the best encouragement I could give them and I knew that if they heard me say something like " we can do this" they would have lots of confidence since I rarely say these things. My thought was verified when everyone smiled and they all put their hands in the middle waiting for me to bring even more team spirit.

"Lets do it!" we all yelled.

I looked up and caught Sakura's eyes and she smiled encouragingly. But even so, something seemed strange… almost fake. It was as if she was worried about something but I couldn't quite figure out what she was worried about. But maybe it was nothing and it was me instead…

Xx Sakura's P.O.V xX

WD- Uzamaki Tenten & Yamanaka Ino vs. Shiraha Ai & Kurotsushi Nana

…

You got to be kidding me! What should I do? Should I tell them? No, I'll just worry them and besides, Ino probably knows now anyways.

I looked up after giving our cheer and saw Sasuke. I offered him a smile, I was quite proud of him for being this 'encouraging'.

"Uzamaki Naruto, Hyuuga Hinata, Matsumura Yu, Koaga Inoe, please enter the court."

With that, the rest of us took a seat on the bleachers behind Sasuke who sat on the coaches' seat waiting for Kakashi.

The game was quite easy with us winning both matches and Sasuke not giving much advice. It was funny how well they were working together. Neji and Shikamaru did pretty well too. We were pretty relaxed for the first to games but now I was pretty worried. But I mean if they didn't use Nana's technique last year they might not use it now anyways right?

"Wish us luck~" Ino said in a sing along voice and gave me a confident smile. I know she was trying to make more relaxed, but even still… I was still worrying.

"Yeah, good luck… and if- never mind," I cut myself short not wanting to worry anyone.

They warmed up for a few minutes and I continued to watch the other team closely. The other girl didn't seem to have any special and everybody on Mitaka didn't seem to look suspicious, but when Nana looked at me with a smirk I knew that they WERE up to something… at least Nana was up to something.

"Hmm… something seems off," a voice said wonderingly. We looked over to the spot next to Sasuke that was supposed to be empty only to see Kakashi!

"Wha-" we all squeaked shocked at his unexpected arrival. When in the world did he even get there?!

"Sorry I'm late, I ran into an old lady who had some trouble-"

"Yeah yeah enough with the excuses. What did you mean something's off?" Naruto asked with boredom.

"I don't know its just they don't seem to be worried about loosing 2 games already and knowing that this is already their last chance… They seem confident," he explained eyes narrowing into the court looking as if he were trying to figure out what was so strange.

"M-maybe we should just forfeit this match," I suggested.

"Do you possibly know something we don't know Sakura?" Kakashi asked knowingly without sparing me a glance.

"I-it's just that I'm worried, as you said they must have confidence and even though that girl doesn't seem to look good, Kurotsushi Nana knows the human body well."

"Continue…"

"… I didn't want to say this before but… Nana plays making her opponents run in a certain way that may injure them without knowing even though it looks like they're running around normally. Its not that effective… sometimes," I told them hesitantly.

"Well it doesn't matter, even knowing this, they surely wont give up. I'm sure you know this already."

I looked down with worry written all over my face, I didn't know what to do.

"Don't worry, they'll be fine," Sasuke said looking up to me with a small smile on his face. I nodded gratefully.

We continued to watch the game, Tenten and Ino coordinated well and they were holding their ground pretty well. All I could do now was put all my hope in them. Soon it was the second game and they looked exhausted and as if they would fall soon. Even so, Ino continued to cover for Tenten and they smashed every chance they got. Suddenly, Nana smashed to an open spot and as Tenten ran towards there, she fell unable to get up. Getting out of her shock, Ino ran for it trying to hold her own against the others.

The rest of us were already up in our seats with worry glances as Tenten was had a constricted look on her face. After the point was lost the umpire announced our forfeit.

"Due to the immobility of a player on Konoha High, this game will be given to Mitaka High."

We all rushed towards Tenten making sure she was okay. "Ten, can you get up?" Naruto asked concerned.

"Y-yeah, it's just… dammit!" she said frustrated at her current state. As we led her to the bench Nana walked past us to her team with a smirk in her face.

"Hmm~ if it isn't Haruno Sakura," she started with a mocking grin as she stopped by me. Murmurs began to occur around for those that heard what she said.

"Haruno Sakura?"

"THE Haruno Sakura from Teiko?"

"No way!"

"Why, what in the world are you doing in this no name school?" She asked me with fake pity.

I glared keeping my mouth shut not trusting myself to hold in my anger.

"Hmm, it is quite the pity you know, you coming to this wannabe new school. Tsk tsk, being here with people that are so weak, don't you feel like you're being held back, Sakura?"

Xx Sasuke's P.O.V xX

Who in the world did she think she is, saying that we sucked?

"Just because you won one game, you shouldn't flatter yourself. You have no right to judge our team," Naruto said in a voice as if he was deliberately taunting her."

"Stay out of this Naruto," I heard Sakura demand in a low voice as she took her racket from of her bag as she walked past Nana and stopped to give her one glance. Her eyes looked dark and no longer the bright emerald she usually has. Not only were her eyes darker but it also felt as like something strange was happening and something dark seemed to emit from her… It was as if she was no longer herself. Something ominous was going on, and I wasn't the only one that felt it. Nana did as well.

She looked shocked and terrified as she fell to her knees unable to shake off this strange feeling.

Xx Nana's P.O.V xX

W-what was this? What is this feeling? H-how can anybody be this dark?! No she isn't dark its just this feeling, this strength its so… so frightening. How can anybody be so strong?! It's as if her power… her strength weakened me to the point that I cant even get a hold on myself. How in the world are there people like this. How can I be this weak compared to her?

I felt so frustrated! This was the first time I felt so weak compared to someone else. I couldn't even stand! Arg! I could feel tears starting to well in my eyes. I've never been so infuriated and scared before.

Xx Sasuke's P.O.V xX

Sakura walked into the court continuing to emit the strange feeling and it also seemed as if the others noticed a change too.

"Sakura… seems strange," Shikamaru stated looking as if there was a puzzle needed to be solved.

"…" Kakashi continued to watch Sakura, as she looked emotionless while she warmed up with her opponent.

"Kakashi, what do you think?" I asked wearily.

"… I'm not sure but there seems like there's going to be a surprise."

We all quietly looked back at the game that was just about to start. As Yui, her opponent, served it was as if Sakura disappeared. Everything happened so fast that it shocked everyone. You were unable to see how Sakura got the point but she did. This went on for a while, we watched in disbelief, this was so unrealistic… but it was real. As we continued to watch and got use to her speed, we realized how graceful she moved no matter how quick she moved, it was as if she was putting on a show that was so genuine that even though almost no one can see it, it was still there… Is this really the power of the Teiko starters that defeated all of their opponents? Is this why they were called the Miracle Angels? How beautiful…

Xx Yui's P.O.V xX

I feel so helpless. She's so strong, how in the world did they think I would stand a chance against her?! She's making me run like a crazy chicken! What the hell is this?! I can't do anything! There's no point… there's no longer any point in even trying…

Xx Sakura P.O.V xX

Yui just stood there barely moving or trying… this always happens. I ended this as fast as I can, not wanting to waste anymore time. There's no point right?

As I walked up to her to shake her hand I wanted to say something but I had no clue what to say. I walked up to my teammates that smiled at me and congratulating me, but I knew that they were shocked. Smiling back I gave them a nod and packed my things.

"I'm gonna wait outside."

"It's fine," Sasuke said as he nodded back at me.

Xx Sasuke's P.O.V xX

Even though she won and acted as if nothing happen, I knew she was upset. But the one that was probably the most upset was Tenten. Knowing her, she would probably blame Sakura for not using this power when she played with her when they played before.

And… I was right. "How could she be so inconsiderate?!" she yelled "just because we're friends, doesn't mean she should go easy on me! Did she ever think that I'd be angry if she did that?"

"Ten, calm down," Neji commanded concerned.

"Why should I?" she grumbled

Neji sighed, knowing that he couldn't do anything to stop her. Since the games were now over us winning 3 games first, we packed our things and did the common courtesy of shaking their hands and the umpires. When that was over we headed to the door that lead us out. As we did so, we heard someone talk as if it was meant for to hear.

"Wooh it's been so long since I've seen SakuSaku play like that. Hmm~ seems like Nana went too far this time…"

"You know Sakura- chan?" Naruto asked stopping to turn to the guy.

"Why, of course I know SakuSaku," the guy said smirking towards our direction.

… Who is this guy? And what's more important is how does he know Sakura? I couldn't help but glare at this mysterious man.
