"So, you've been betrayed then, huh?" Thea exclaimed as they kept searching through trash. It was 'off-limits', but everyone went in it anyway. It was in broad daylight, and they were on the other side from the entrance. So, Eren and Thea were in separate piles of the dump, looking through the metals.
"... No. I was to stupid." Eren sighed, throwing another piece of useless junk to another pile.
"You break yourself down too much. Lay off sometimes, just relax. I sometimes just lay around for a few days to get my mind off things." She commented, walking over to Eren. "I've met so many people, and they can walk away dude. My friends, comrades, fight partners..." She murmured something else, but it wasn't heard.
Eren looked at her for a moment, and saw a new emotion on her face.
It was the emotion sadness.
"Hey, just what happened-"
"Danger. Two Level One person-els in the Dump. Will bring four 2 meters and two 5 meters." A man said with silver eyes. He sighed, then staring right at Thea. Thea grabbed Eren tightly.
"Were fucked, god were fucked," she hushed, shaking. Eren looked over, and saw Thea frightened to hell. "There coming..."
"Who are they?" Eren whispered in her ear carefully.
"... Mini Titans..." She murmered, and that let Eren wide eyed. "They haven't made a real Titan formula that works yet, thank god. What a monster that will be.." She shivered, and Eren felt guilt go straight through his chest.
"Well, since were eliminating most of the east side of the town, we could start at the Dump." He smirked, and whipped back his hair. "Target found." He smirked, and eyes turned a blood red, charging at Thea.
Thea whipped up a iron pipe, and tryed to smash his head in. He quickly dodged it, making her tumble a little. He went for her back in the heart area, making Eren run over and block the attack with his own body. It slashed his arm, making blood splurge all over the place.
"Fuck Eren! What are you doing?!" Thea screamed before Eren spit a little blood out, turning around and facing the young man. He had a deadly glare in his eyes that even made the red-eyed man surprised.
"Ah, I see. You got a spirit, don't ya? Haven't seen you around, are you new?" He looked back over at Thea. "Do you even know her? What she is?" He slithered out.
Thea seemed enraged. "Shut up!" She bellowed, pulling out her gun.
"We all know you don't actually carry bullets in that gun, Thea." He spat. "Were not stupid, and you're weak." He turned his head over to Eren. "And you brought a weak newbie over here. You're dumb."
The man came forth at Eren, making him jump out out the way of the speedy attack. "Don't you know?" The man snorted, evilly grinning. "I'm a bull."
He gritted his teeth and slashed at Eren again, knocking him down. They tumbled down the pile, the junk shredding and taking pieces of cloth and skin on the way down. It bumped Erens head, and made him see the world very blurry.
"EREN!" He heard Thea scream, and he looked the way she was looking. He saw blurry images of giants, naked and coming straight at them.
Eren...
Where was he? He couldn't figure out. All he saw was a blurry Thea close to tears and the man pulling out a shiny object. He held it up in the air.
"Eren, do you remember what I said? Live! Live no matter what! You're weak. Pathetic. A waste of time. Get up, Eren! Use your power! Protect your friend! Now!" A voice screamed at him, Eren confused.
"What are you talking about? I'm at home. Who do I need to protect?" He asked the man standing in front of him. "Why go outside when I'm just fine inside?" He exclaimed.
"Eren! Why did you want to be someone?" The man yelled again.
"So I could make a difference, simple." He replied back, standing up. "Now go away. You're annoying me."
"You're making no difference. You remember our promise, right? Then keep it. Walk outside. Wake up."
"Open your eyes into the world of inhumanity, Eren."
Erens eyes flashed open, seeing the object being thrusted down. Thea was close to death, kneeling as they were climbing up the pile.
Protect. Protect. Live. Kill. Kill. KILL. KILL!
Kill.
Eren lost all conscious and felt his bones being ripped apart. Layers of skin forming on new ones. Ribs connecting and muscles tying together. His jaw having new teeth grow into them. Eren had one thought on his mind.
Kill.
He thrashed around in the 15 meter tall body, running straight forward the Titan closest to Thea. He ripped the head off, throwing it to the door entrance. He then bashed two others heads together, and teared out the swollen back of his neck. He roared in the five meters face, and chomped its neck while trying to punch another.
Thea was shocked. Eren... Was one of them?
The other red-eyed man also seemed shocked, since he tryed to flee the scene before he was brutally stepped on by Eren. Eren had already taken out every single one except the seven meter, who seemed to be confused. Eren took advantage of the situation and toppled him over, he then processed to stand up, and bash his head with his foot. Blood had filled the ground that used to be dirt, and slashes of blood on Thea's clothes. She was trying to convince herself that Eren wasn't one of those things, but she couldn't. She saw him kill everything. He was the thing everyone was waiting for.
The monster.
Eren seemed to of calmed down, and he fell to the ground. Thea took a better look, and saw that Eren was exhausted. His skin broke loose at his neck, and he toppled out. Thea ran over, looking at him. He came out with flawless features, not one having a single scratch or mark. He slowly opened his eyes, and looked at Thea.
"Hey... Thea..." He murmured before passing out again. Thea sighed, and flung him over her shoulder.
"You're definitely leaving."
Eren woke up with a horrible headache. He pushed himself up, and rubbed his forehead. He saw Thea playing card games with herself, and she looked over when she heard the bed creak.
"Oh, there comes your soul again." She commented, standing up. "Look, I won't say anything, just get out. I don't want to see your face anymore." She stated, throwing a bag at him that had some food and a knife in it, and then opening the door. "See ya."
"Wait, please give me some time-"
"No," Thea stated immediately, "You don't get shit. I gave you some things, now get out. I don't want to live with a monster. " she exclaimed in his face, making him feel sadness and fury.
"I didn't ask to be this!" Eren snapped back, gripping the bag tighter.
"But you are, Eren. That's the problem. I don't care who you were before, I care about who you are now. And right now, you a sick, disgusting, vile, monster. I don't want to even breathe the same air as you. You should act like a monster, since you already are one." She spat, truth in every word. She was terrified of him.
Eren glared at her, and then hung his head. He laughed, looking up as Thea was confused. "You know what?" He asked, towering over Thea. "I will. I fucking will. I'll do what every living thing has told me to do since the beginning. Be strong. Don't cry. Be a total douche bag to anyone and everyone. I'll talk like the bad guy, be the bad guy. Will that make you guys happy? Tch. Okay then. I will, Thea." He shoved her over threw the bag at her, and walked away. He opened the front door of the thrift shop, "Oh, there's your shit back. And by the way, I really recommend not ever running into me again." He slammed the door loudly, stuffed his hands in his pockets, and started to walk away.
"Cause, unlike you, I can kill you."
"Oh, whatdaya know, headphones and an iPod. Just what I need." Eren commented, picking it up from an abandoned jacket. He put it in, hearing Gas Pedal. He chuckled. "If I was in a better mood, I would dance to this." He noted, sighing. He was walking to the border of the higher-ups and lower downs. To tell ya the truth, he was already sick of it. He was ready to blow up all this shit. Fuck government. He wanted to live in someplace that you need to kill people without being regulated. He wanted to shut it all down.
When he was about two miles away from the border, he felt as if something was coming at him. The ruffles in the bushes, the street lights aways on stop, it's as if they knew he was coming.
And prepared to attack.
So, Eren took another turn, and before you know it, there were four people lined up and in proper suits. They didn't have any weapons though, which made Eren a bit curious.
"Hello, Sir. We mean no harm." The man said, and those were the last words Eren ever expected to come from that mans mouth.
"Then what the hell do you want?" He questioned, putting his hands down his pockets so he could quickly get his leather man if needed.
"We would like to give you a very, very rare opportunity, and let you come over to the headquarters to... talk to Master." One commented, giving the last word much respect. Eren almost burst out laughing. Master? What the hell?
"Um..." Eren thought about the disadvantages. He'd probably get captured, then beaten and slaughtered, and that was about it. It would be pretty quick. Then, the advantages. Those were much better. Take over the facility, rule the city, break down this government... It didn't sound half bad. Eren smirked, a hand on his hip. "Sure." He said kindly, and the suited man seemed to sigh in relief.
"Great. Follow us." He ordered, having an armed man walking beside Eren. Eren sighed. Did they seriously not trust him? That was shocking.
"Well, why am I meeting him?" Eren commented, and the man sighed.
"You'll see."
Eren swore this place was Las Vegas compiled in a skyscraper.
The minute he walks in, he sees this casino with many people in it. All the people had fine suits or elegant dresses, with excessive makeup and bags. It was amazing to see that these people were the best killers around here. When they went up the stairs, since 'the elevator was on the third floor', it was like a strip club. The lights were flashy, and there were poles in the corners of the room along with a walkway. Women in... elaborate clothing were dancing everywhere, and it made Eren feel sick. I mean, he had snuck into a strip club once, but this, with everything going on... Really? Really?!
He quickly took some deep breaths, and kept on walking with the men. They trotted up the next set of stairs, and the elevator was right there in front of them. When the doors opened, Eren saw two, around the age of 5, kids standing at the corners. Their eyes looked so dull, so manipulated.
"Hello Joshua, Hello Ashley," the former man greeted, getting no reply from them. They just stared at the wall. Eren was, to say the least, a bit intrigued with the children. How were they that way? "The penthouse, please." The man said, and the girl barely moved to press the button. It was pitiful.
It was a silent way up, until the elevator dinged and opened, the children walking out first. A shadow was sitting in a chair, with a wine glass in its hand and a... very large animal beside it.
"Master," the man escorting Eren bowed, "I have brought him." He slithered out, the atmosphere now tense.
The shadow looked up, and sighed. "Indeed, you did. Very well, Kaleb. Thank you." A voice called, the shadow standing up.
"W-Why, of course. Excuse us." He stuttered, shutting the elevator with the other men, but leaving the children, and the elevator left. The man sighed.
"Now, what's your name?" A buff man instructed, having a black suit and blue tie on. He had a bit of stumble, and his hair was a sleek black, brought back by hair gel. His eyes were an orange, and his skin was very tan.
"Um, why do I need to tell you?" Eren replied in a cocky voice, and you could see the slightest flinch in the young boys expression when he said that.
The man smirked. "A little pain in the ass, aren't ya?" He asked, smirking. "You know, I have heard that you have a divine advantage against others." He bellowed, eyes glaring. "And, I am willing to let you become one of the people I can trust to rule over this utopia."
Eren, with those last words, went off.
"Haha!" He laughed, and he kept laughing hysterically. The children were wide-eyed, and shaking. The man was angry, upset about why Eren was laughing. "Look," Eren started out, "Imma give it to ya straight. Your fucking 'utopia' is your definition of this bullshit, but mine is hell. Your sick, seeing this as good. You've never been on the other side of this world. It's nasty, it's horrid, it's dangerous, and it's scary. Hell, I've been here for what, two days, tops, and I think this is worse than anything I found in the Hunt. The casino, strip club, let me ask you; are you shitting me?" Eren yelled, blood boiling and letting out all the steam he had ever held in before now. "Others are living in scraps and you're throwing it around as if it's dust. You little piece of crocodile scat. Join you? Join you? Naw, fuck that. I'm going to rot before I join your little party. Cause in my dictionary, you're nothing but a tiny joke." He spat, huffing deep breathes.
"... You really dont know what I can do, do you?" He replied, as slick as ice and as sharp as knifes. If Eren had looked back, he would've seen terrified children, struggling to stay where they were without falling to their knees.
"Nope." Eren smirked back, and dared to step closer. "And I really don't care."
The man seemed to burst, and looked at Eren. He stared deep, deep into his eyes, and seemed to be trying to do something. But, even though Eren felt a bit woozy, nothing really happened. The man seemed enraged, and the kids were amazed.
"Hmm..." The man questioned, stepping back. "Why can't I control you?"
And then it hit Eren. This man had controlled people. Manipulated them, forced them to do things. Forced them to accept there way of life. Forced them to do things. Manipulated. Forced. Disgusting.
"..." Eren was quiet, looking at the children. They looked at Eren, with little shimmers of reflection in their eyes, that Eren took as hope. "Control? Naw, man. I'm a Titan." He smirked. "I am different than those souls you take over. I'm your nightmare. I'm your curse. I'm your shadow you never wanted to find. I'm the poisoned apple. You took a bite, and now," Eren slyly pulled out his weapon out of his back pocket, that was hidden by his jacket. "Your falling."
Eren lunged at him, and he quickly moved out of the way. "I'm not only good with controlling people. Your just... A disadvantage."
Eren sighed, twirling the knife around his fingers. "Oh, a disadvantage?" He looked over, and smirked. "So, do you keep your..." He turned back to the man. "Disadvantages, or the people you can't control, with you?" He questioned, and a fire was set in the other mans eyes.
The man thrashed over a couch, and Eren barely managed to get out of the way, the leg scraping his upper left arm. He flinched, blood coming out endlessly. "Ya know..." Eren smiled, since the man seemed satisfied.
And that smile was sent to the look of anguish.
He just stared at Erens arm, that was now healing, the skin sowing itself back together. "I thought I already described this to you. This fight ain't gonna last long, to say the least. I'm a Titan. I'm unstoppable. I'm unforgiving." Eren commented, walking over to him, only dry blood clinging onto the new skin. The man stumbled down, now Eren towering over him. He put his foot on his hand, bones crunching. The man held back a yelp, not used to feeling pain.
"No..." The man said, staring at Eren. Eren had put his knife on his temple, ready to push it in. The children just stood there, not making a sound. The world didn't move. It was just him and Eren.
"You're a monster."
Eren plunged the knife in, the blood splurging out once the skull made impact with the blade. Eren stood up, and turned over to the children whose faces were now painted with little splotches of blood. They seemed more relieved than terrified, and Eren carefully sat down in front of them. He took the girls fragile face and gingerly wiped off the splotches, some stains left behind.
"Are you scared of me?" Eren asked them, holding the girls and boys hands. The little girl looked at him straight in the eye, while tears were streaming down her face. The boy was shaking, not knowing if it was in fear or fury.
"... No..." The girl murmured, grasping onto Erens hand tightly. "No... We aren't..." He whispered shakily, trying not to stumble.
"The one who was scary was the man." The boy interrupted, trying to give the girl a break. "You saved us. We are in your debt." He politely said, and that made Eren feel angry rather than satisfied.
"I'm a scary person. There will be not words that result in orders that come out of me. You can go on. Be free. I will not let you come with me unless you are doing it because you want to be with me. " he noted, and started to stand up.
"No." The boy said firmly, holding onto his shirt. His hand was shaky, as if begging him not to take a step. "We want to stay with you." The boy confirmed, and Eren sighed. He grabbed the kids gently, holding them in his arms, now muscular and broad.
"Sure. After all, you guys are 'normal'. You have no powers." He noted, and hugged them. "I'll keep you guys safe." He noted, putting them on the couch. "But first," he said, turning around. "This building needs to not exist as a symbol of governments rule." He noted, smiling back at them. "I'll get you guys out."
"Cause this place will be nothing but rubble soon."
"Eren-kun!" Ashley yelled, running over and grabbing Erens legs. Joshua looked up from his book, and smiled.
"Hello, Eren." Joshua also noted, Ashley's grin far and wide.
Eren looked underneath him, and picked up Ashley. He rubbed noses with her, and she laughed. "Hey, Ashley. How was your day?"
"Good!" She replied happily, looking over to Joshua. "He's done nothing but read the new books you found the other day since mornin'. " she complained, Eren putting her down.
"I enjoy knowledge." Joshua smoothly replied, turning the page of The Hobbit, making Ashley a bit irritated.
"Now Ashley," Eren commented, putting a hand on her shoulder. "You like fighting and weapons, while Joshua likes reading. Respect your differences." He noted, walking to a house. It was a cabin, that looked about 700 square feet and was pretty small.
Ashley sighed, pulling Joshua up. "Fine, Eren-kun. But I'm hungry!" She whined, pulling Joshua inside with her. The house had a small stove and fridge, along with two rooms and a bathroom. The kitchen and living room were connected, and it was very small. Ashley sat on the old, worn out tan couch and Joshua sat in one of the three dining chairs near the coffee table.
"Don't worry, I'm cooking some tomato soup, okay?" Eren replied, putting a pot on the stove.
Ashley whined again. "We had that two days ago!" She exclaimed, making Joshua Shake his head in disapproval.
"Do you realize how fortunate we are, Ashley? Compared two back then-"
A butter knife whipped by Joshua and into the wall, not making him blink once. He simply looked up, seeing a furious Ashley. "We do not talk about that. " she stated, hands crunching the other utensil. "Not what happened over a year ago."
"A year and four months, to be precise." He explained, putting the book down and standing up. He went over to Eren and used him as a ladder to grab some paper towels.
Eren smiled. "If you wanted them, tell me. Don't just climb up my shirt." He noted, letting Joshua climb down before grabbing bowls to pour the soup in. He gulped, before telling them, "I'm going to leave in a few minutes."
The room went silent, as if a new setting had came in. The kids knew that Eren always went out at night, but they certainly didn't like it. They wanted Eren all to themselves. "I see." Joshua explained, gently dipping his spoon into the soup. "I guess well go to sleep early once again."
"Yep." Ashley said quietly, more shy than she ever was. They never complained about Eren leaving, because they had a feeling it was necessary.
"Okay then." Eren said, pulling up a jacket. "I'll be back soon." He noted, kissing the children on their foreheads. "Love ya."
"We love you too." Joshua said, before Eren smiled, turned around, and shut the door.
For Eren, it was like entering another world.
The government had been shut down. The moment Eren said it over the intercom, the place turned into a battlefield. Strippers pulled out guns and started shooting, while waiters were bashing glasses on the others heads. Eren had found bombs under the lavender colored couch, and started to place one on each level of the staircase. People were screaming out, while Eren had made the kids rush out. He was left with a battlefield in the process of evacuating.
He had made it, but now things were different. People had found out it was him, and either wanted to help him or kill him. After a year, Eren had a group called Legion and was hunting down people who were claimed 'rich' back then. Eren had killed hundreds of people, and everyone feared him. He was relentless, evil, and insane. He killed people without hesitation, showed no regret, and was a monster.
Eren had walked over to a old store with the name "Toms Music Store' on the front door, and he walked in. He was greeted by other men, who at the time were wearing casual clothing. This was where he evaluated, or killed, men who were suspected. He killed around ten people per night, and that was on good days. Eren started off with "Who's dyin' tonight?"
A man sighed, and put a hand on Erens shoulder. He was one of the few who weren't afraid to touch Eren. "A girl tonight, actually." He noted, opening the door.
Eren barely made movement, but inside he was shocked.
Right in front of him stood Thea.
...
"Sup, Eren." Thea said, her clothes and hair a mess.
"Thea Harbuck. Suspected for helping a 'rich' with gun exchanges. In first times, she was raped many times and called a slut. Many think of her as dirty and guilty. Options?" The man recited, and Eren just stood there.
"So, just because your raped qualifies you as a slut?" He asked, angry. Such bullshit.
People around him got the chills, and didn't dare to say anything. He examined Thea, and saw no fear or sadness in her eyes.
"Her punishment will be to live." He announced.
Some people couldn't help to not hold in their gasps. Not one man, or woman, had been spared by the Monster. It was absolutely ridiculous to some that she would be the one who was spared. "Release her. I'll take her." Eren said, making the people behind her unravel the knots. "Not a word," he said to Thea, and grabbed her wrist. He walked out of the store, getting looks from the other people in the store. He slammed the door open, and started to run out. Thea was confused.
"... Why?" Thea asked as Eren was going into the isolated forest land.
"I would've killed you," he commented, giving Thea the chills. He had transformed into this? "But I think I can trust you to take care of Ash and Josh."
"Who?"
"Look, I have been getting sporadic messages from a man. We have a history, and I don't know how long I will be gone." Eren noted, walking faster. "I'll say goodbye, and you will take care of them. I will know. Or I. Will. Kill. You." Eren snarled, Thea being scared to hell. Eren was intimidating. Not the little boy who was clueless and kind when she first met him. He had changed, and guilt filled her heart. Was it partially her fault? The things she said?
"... How are they?" Thea asked, trying to lighten the mood.
Eren expression softened, and was actually pleased. "Ashley is my little angel. She's kind, sweet, and considerate. Though I must say, she can be a bit greedy. She has a bit of a temper, and loves weapons. She's a badass." He replied happily, making Thea kinda confused. "She's about seven in two months. Anyway, then there's my gentle Joshua. He's generous, thoughtful, and exceptionally smart. He loves books, and I'm pretty sure he'd be a good professor. He's twins with Ash." He commented.
"... And your relationship? Their powers?" Thea questioned, more curious.
"Oh. We met... A little after our little brawl." Eren smiled sadly, making a wave of regret hit Thea. "They were... Hostages, to say. They worked for the government. But their okay now, and there happy and healthy. I plan on keeping them that way." Eren noted, continuing." They have none. That's their power. There completely normal. My angels." Eren said, moving along.
Thea didn't comment anything else, and kept walking. She let all of that sink in. The kids, him leaving, him changing. It was actually pretty freaky, but she accepted it. She only had one argument;
Wasn't it too cold for angels?
"Good mornin, Ashley." Eren said, kissing her forehead.
Ashley groggily opened her eyes, smiling when she saw Eren in front of her. She jumped up, wrapping her arms around his neck and snuggling into the crease of his neck. "Morning, Eren-kun." She whispered, voice still drowsy. Joshua was already awake, with a flashlight in his hand reading. Eren sighed, going over to his bed and kissing his forehead.
"Joshua, we have a visitor." He said, pulling the covers out from under him. Ashley and Joshua got up immediately, staring at Eren suspiciously.
"Who? An intruder?" Ashley said deadly, a glare set for the door. Even Joshua looked like he was about to kill someone. Eren sighed.
"No, she's very nice. Her names Thea, she took care of me when I came here, okay?" He explained, picking Joshua up. "She's gonna take care of you." Eren said very cautiously, afraid of how they would react.
Ashley stopped everything, and it seemed she couldn't catch her breath. No one could. It was as if the room was out of oxygen. Joshua even dropped his book.
"... W-What..." Ashley croaked, shaking at the edge of the bed. "Y-You're...l-leaving?!" She explained quietly, now shivering violently.
Joshua gripped Erens shirt with a force like no other. "No." Joshua said, trying to act strong. "You're not. He's not, Ashley. He's gonna stay here, feed us, love us, tuck us in bed, give us books, teach us things,...kiss us goodnight, laugh with us... live with us... Do things with us..." Josh tried to say, his voice filled with sadness and tears brimming his eyes. "He's gonna stay..."
Eren couldn't say anything. His heart was already so breakable; now he had to leave the things he had needed the most. It was shattering, memories trying not to break, sadness swarming his chest, with a side dish of loneliness.
"Eren-kun, SAY SOMETHING!" Ashley yelled, tears streaming down her face. "I'll miss you... We'll miss you..."
The strong Eren, the monster, couldn't hold it in any longer. He grabbed Ashley, and started bawling. Bawling in Joshua and Ashley's lap. Sobs, tears, snot, streaming down his face. The kids were shocked, but tears still going down their faces. Eren had never shown anything but happiness and calmness in front of them. Now, he was crying, letting out all the emotions he had held for years, all in one cry. Hannes, Felice, family, monsters, sadness, everything. He shook, he shivered, he tried not to scream. "Do you think..." He finally whispered, head still in their laps. "... This is any easier for me? I'll miss you guys the most... Why don't you understand this?!" He yelled, face red and tear-stained. Joshua and Ashley had been shocked, and didn't do anything. For minutes, they just kept that position. Josh gently put his hand on Erens head, hugging it.
"Okay." He silently said, not moving one bit. His voice showed courage. "Well stay. For you. But you," his voice wavered as he looked into Erens eyes. "You have to promise to come back! You have to swear!" He said strongly, Eren feeling his hands shaking. He sighed, and tryed to calm down. He wiped off his face, and kneeled down. He slowly pushed himself up, and replied "Of course. I'll come back."
Ashley couldn't stop crying, so walked out of the room with saltwater still coming out of her eyes. Josh acted calm, but you still see the stains on his face. Thea was sitting on the couch, and from what just happened, both of them were glaring at her like she was a evil villain.
"So, Thea, Ashley and Joshua. These are my angels, and I expect you to take very good care of them. No matter how long I'm gone. Got it?" He said, making Thea nod her head. Eren had already explained what they like and where everything was over night. He sighed, trying to hide his fear. "Well, " he said, kissing Josh and Ash on the cheek. "I love you, and I'll be back soon." He said.
When the door shut, he could hear more screams of crying happen, and his heart cringed.
He walked though the city without giving two fucks, and went over to a hospital. He opened the creaky doors, climbed up all the old stairs, and met a helicopter that was black and had a red logo on it.
The exact same one.
"So," Eren yelled, throwing notes into the wind. "What's up with these messages? Am I that dangerous?"
The man chuckled, coming out of the helicopter. "Well, yes. Too many people are dying to quickly because of you." He noted. "You're our first true experiment."
Eren smirked. "I see. And you want to 'keep me safe', ol' man?" Eren noted. "Oh, I forgot, you left your real name in the last message, like a good boy." He cooed, frowning immediately after. "So I'll address you by your name, and come aboard your shitty transport,
'Erwin'."
...
Eren had arrived at a place that wasn't the mansion. He had past right past it, and went to a concrete building, with steel bars as the gates and windows. He sighed, walking in on his own will.
"So, how are you?" Erwin asked, a hint of amusement in his voice.
Eren shrugged, smirking. "I get by with my wicked ways." He noted, running his fingers along the railing. "What's up?"
"Look," Erwin started, leading Eren inside and down some stairs. "You're powerful. Powerful without a power, and that's pretty freaky. You've killed more people than anyone else in the arena, and at first we thought it was because of the injection. But, after examining you, it was because of your will. You had something that no one else had; something to protect." He proclaimed, walking Eren down the hall. It was dark, and there seemed to be more guards at every ten feet, leaving Eren a bit cautious.
"And that's where we forgot what gives someone, like you, hope. Those children gave you hope. " Erwin said, his shoes clacking. "But, that isn't allowed in the Arena. So," he stopped, and turned around. "We gave you a drink to keep you from transforming until we explain." The guards started to come up, and Eren became tense. "Were keeping you under lock and chain until the population returns to normal. Until then... Well, you won't be given the best of service." Erwin sighed, letting the guards take up Eren.
"What?!" Eren roared in Erwin's face, spitting in his face. "What do you want, blood? I mean, what the fuck? What else do you want to do me to give? I've give you my blood, my skin, my fear, my courage, my sacrifice, okay, puffychecks? Fuck yo self, as they say back there. I mean, get a girlfriend or something. Don't you have anything else to do than to play tag with a dude in yo shitty game that is trying to survive?" He asked, more amusement and rage filling his eyes, nothing else in his mind.
"Ah, but you see," Erwin said, "It is a big deal. Because, if you don't cooperate and get in the cage like a good boy,
I'll kill them.
Understand?" Erwin noted kindly, the world crashing and thrashing down on Eren.
Eren was freaking out. Ashley and Joshua was what he lived for. What he loved. His little lights of his. They couldn't die. He wouldn't let them. That's why he separated himself from the city, kept them in the forest, tried to kill every last person who tortured them, that's why he tried to protect them.
He was very greedy man.
"... " Erens throat had gone dry, not able to say anything. He swallowed a lump in his throat, and spoke. "Understood, princess. I'll stay here and chill till the pops' back in shape, Kay?" He said, hoping into the cell. Outside, Eren was fearless and stupid. Inside, he was frightened and worried.
Erwin smiled, satisfied. "Don't worry, monster, you'll be here for a while."
6 months later
Breathe. Breathe.
That was what Eren had been thinking. He had lost track of time. No one came. No one gave him attention, or food, or went to take care on him. He just stayed there, hair grown out and the swollen wrists that were in shackles. He could barely move, and his throat was dryer than a desert; he could barely breathe. He was scrawny, weak, and hopeless.
It was a very dark place.
His eyes couldn't open, and when they did, there was nothing but a gray concrete wall. His arms had hanged up above him, his hands just flopping over the metal. His legs were shackled to the ground, cold and wet, with his legs bending behind him. His appearance was awful; his eyes were a dull green, and his clothing was scattered. His hair had grown farther than his shoulders, and he was nothing but skin and hones. He wasn't the monster he was before.
He hadn't heard footsteps at all. Not one noise was made in the hallway expect the dripping pipes and the clanking shackles. Nothing made a noise, really.
Until now.
There was now the sounds of footsteps, made by dress shoes, going down the empty hall. He didn't understand whose it was, his mind blurry. He looked up when the footsteps stopped, and when he finally opened his eyes, he saw the blurry image of Erwin.
"Hello, Eren." Erwin said calmly. "You doing okay?"
Eren wanted to make a rude remark badly, but his throat said otherwise. He opened and closed his mouth, but with no words coming out. His eyes were puffy, and his mouth burned.
"I see. We'll get you cleaned up." He noted, letting other footsteps coming down the hall. What was happening? How long had it been? Why was he letting him out?
What was going on?
...
"Eren." Erwin said, looking over him. Eren had been cleaned up; had gotten a haircut, given a nice arrangement of food, and could talk again. He was still very thin, but he felt much better than he did before. He was cautious, and despite his condition, was very wary.
"What is going on?" Eren said quietly, looking up. His face had been freed of its tears and sweat, and now looked decent. Erwin sighed.
"Eren." He said again. "You're a machine, Eren, remember that."
Eren almost laughed, or croaked. Those were the first words he said? What... Bull.
"Look, I have something to confess." Erwin noted, standing up a bit taller. "We never planned on you to go back in. We tried to see how long you'd live with nothing. Seems that you live quite a bit." He said, making Erens eyes fill with disbelief. He didn't care about his punishment, but what about Thea? Josh? Ash?
"So, in apologies and rewards," he spoke again, "We will let you go. Out. We will give you two months, Eren. Go have some fun while you can." Erwin stated, making Eren a bit confused again. He didn't dare to say anything, if he even could at the moment. Go out? What did that mean?
Wait... Did he mean... Out there?
"But afterwords, you will come back, and be our test subject. Forever. Understand? Until then, well keep them. That's what your thinking about, right?" Erwin smirked, making Eren shiver in fear. He couldn't do anything. He was so weak. So useless.
"... I understand, sir." Eren finally realized. He was the dog. Erwin was the master. Listen to what he says. Be loyal. Obedient. Wasn't that the job of a dog? A monster?
"Good. Erwin said, sighing. These were the last words said to him by Erwin until he was shipped off. "Eren. " He spoke, towering over him. "When I let you out into the real world again, I need you to remember one thing..."
"You will always be a monster."
