Levi, Hanji, Mikasa, and Armin both had the same thoughts at the time.
Someone kill this bitch.
Erwin had brought them onto the helicopter, them cramped in the back seat, meant to fit only three people. Mikasa could've been killing minataurs with that glare, while Armin and Hanji seemed to be designing a plan. And then there was Levi. Who right now, didn't care if Petra was dating him, just wanted to put a bullet through his head.
But wouldn't that be to easy of a death for someone like him?
It didn't take long, to tell you the truth. Maybe an hour or so, before they arrived at the mansion. It still looked the same as it did over two years ago, when Eren came here. They just didn't know that.
"Welcome to my mansion," Erwin greeted them as they exited the helicopter. Hanji and Armin examined every single bit of the landscape, while Mikasa and Levi were focused on the front door. They wanted to know. Where Eren was. What he was hiding. They wanted to know everything.
They carefully walked into the house, people rushing all around, some with clipboards, others with lab coats. "Oh," Erwin pointed out, "Felice! Come here." He said, and when she turned around, she froze. She snapped out of it quickly, walking slowly over.
"This is Hanji, Levi, Armin and Mikasa." He stated, pointing at each one as he said their names. Once said, Felice focused on two of them.
"So your Mikasa." She said, smiling. "Eren spoke of you everyday. How much he missed you and his best friend, Armin." She noted, Mikasa cringing. Armin stopped what he was doing, and looked at her with pained eyes.
"... You knew Eren?" He asked, his voice frail.
"Well, more like betrayed him. Isn't that right?" Erwin slithered out, smirking. "Along with that man, Hannes."
Mikasa looked like she would pounce and slaughter Felice, until Erwin mentioned the man named Hannes. Felice had cringed, and became furious. "You swore to never speak of him." She snarled, making Mikasa back up.
"Ah, I forgot. Sorry." Erwin said in a sarcastic apology, Felice exasperated. She stormed off, Erwin rolling his eyes. "Now," he stated, smiling. "Let's start at the beginning of Erens journey."
"Mikasa will probably remember this scene fairly well." Erwin noted, coming into a dark, long hallway. There were huge television screens on each one, all having something different playing on them."Here." He said, turning on the first one. It was labeled;
The Fire.
Mikasa froze in her steps. Armin turned pale. Hanji and Levi were left clueless.
Scenes. Endless scenes of what happened in a matter of few minutes. Eren getting out of his bed. Mikasa and them fighting. Him falling. Then him scared. Then the murder. Then another murder. The petrified boy, who swore revenge as he was taken away. All of it, in just mere minutes. Armin was in tears, Mikasa barely standing up. Levi and Hanji were also taking in everything, Hanji shaking in anger. Levi had just surpassed murder mode.
"Well, next," Erwin noted, as if it was nothing.
The Years of the Hunt.
Eren was dropped off. He fell in a lake, then picked up by a man.
"That's Hannes, his caregiver most of the time. He was like his new family, along with Felice." Erwin noted.
Eren was shaking. Eren was scared. Eren was comforted. Hannes and Felice were there to help him. He was trained for battle. He fought a ugly, disgusting monster. Hanji and Armin examined it, wondering what it was.
"That's a Beast. Eren fought those most of his time there. Everyday. All the time." Erwin bluntly pointed out, letting the images and words sink into their brains.
Felice turned sick. Hannes was depressed. Eren took over, trying to manage. Eren cried himself to sleep. He struggled through the days. Felice got better. Eren was happy. Everyone was happy. It was short-lived.
"Is this what you put him through?!" Armin yelled at Erwin, enraged. "I don't believe it! I won't believe it!" He screamed, Erwin rolling his eyes.
"Believe it, Armin. This isn't even the middle."
The Creation.
Eren found Hannes at the helicopter. He couldn't say goodbye, in shock. He went over to a mansion. The exact same one. They brought him into a room. Erwin showed up, and made Eren start to break. Then Felice showed up.
Mikasa punched the wall. "That bitch..." She snarled, the screens still going.
Felice talking to Eren. Eren horrified. The injection put into him. Him screaming and thrashing, tears falling down. Eren dropped off into a dumpster.
Hanji turned to Erwin, and just looked at him. Nothing else. It hurt more than any physical pain. It was saying 'I hate everything about you. You make me sick.'
Erwin rolled his eyes. At least his plan was working to some.
The Monster.
The men Eren was cornered by. Thea. The dump. The bull. Eren dying.
Eren transforming.
Levi couldn't say anything. Armin was petrified. Mikasa just stood there, wide-eyed, and Hanjis mouth was agape. They were real. Not made up.
Eren was a monster.
Erwin smirked, his plan in motion.
Eren murdered, slaughtered the others. He collapsed. Thea brought him back. Eren broken, angry at Thea. Him. Alone. Men, asking him to go to the government. Going upstairs, with the children at his side. Eren fighting with words. Eren shocked, angry, and then enraged. The kids. Splattered blood.
Mikasa wouldn't believe it. "... He wasn't kidding. He really was..." She murmered, Armin collapsed on the floor.
Hope.
Erwin sneered at this one, while Hanji kept note of everything, no matter how worried she was.
The children talking with Eren. The building, collapsing. There was nothing left. Only dust that filled the air. It faded to black, until it was when Eren was smiling. Laughing. Happy. The children were there, along side Eren. Eren leaving.
Then there were many scenes filmed into one.
Gunshot by gunshot. Scream after scream. Splatter after splatter. Eren was above them. Every single time. His face was twisted. He was evil. He was fearless. He was insane. Tens of hundreds of scenes fell before them, each one of them Erens tragedy.
He was a monster.
There was nothing but silence in the room. Absolutely nothing.
Meeting Thea again. Taking her home. Saying goodbye. Helicopters. Erwin. Evil glares and petrifying talk.
Doom.
Cages. Dungeons. Locks. Nothing. No hope. No will to live. Lifeless. Footsteps. Erwin. Clean up. Sit downs. More talks. Eren pale, and lifeless. The town.
It was over. But there was still one thing that stuck the whole time.
Eren was a monster.
At first, no one said anything. There was only silence. All were shocked. What was he?
"... I guess you were right. " Armin whispered, talking first. ".. He really did change." He silently noted, Mikasa next.
"He's still my brother, but..." She was ashamed. She couldn't say anything. Hanji didn't say anything. She wouldn't say anything.
And finally there was Levi.
"..." He just stood there. Quietly. Patiently. Didn't say anything. He turned around, and looked at Erwin.
"That's a shitty attack plan."
Erwin froze. Everyone stared at him, confused.
"I mean, what were you trying to do? Trying to make us think he's a monster? Make us not go after him? Let him be your little puppet?" He snarled, eyes aflame. "That's the great thing about being the one chasing him. Cause the thing is,
I already knew he was.
I knew he was a monster, I knew he had killed people. Now, I won't say how many I knew, or what he was been hiding, which was a shitload of stuff, but did you actually think that would change my opinion?"
"If I didn't care, I would've stopped a long time ago. I don't know what you were trying to accomplish with this, but if you wanted them to believe you and be traumatized, congrats. You've done it. But if you wanted to change me, then sorry. You fucking failed."
"I don't care about what he was before, what I care about is what he was when I meet him. He was a fucking brat, sadly. But he changed. He was scared. He was petrified. And you're the one who did that. So, this whole time I'm looking at this, it just gives me more reasons and ideas about how to kill you, how to slaughter you slowly and agonizingly. Because I care about him. I want him to live happily, I don't want his life held down by chains. I want him to get better. I want to see him grow old. And you aren't going to change that." Levi noted, walking down the rest of the hallway.
"So, if you don't mind, Mikasa, Armin and Hanji are going to make you unconscious until I can find a better way of disposing you. And while that's happening," he commented, swishing the door open. "I'm going to find Eren."
Levi was rushing down the hall. Wouldn't he be in the same cage he was in the clip? Wouldn't he? He hated thinking of it. He didn't want it this way. He wanted it to be something, anything else than this. Eren had to go through his hell again.
Felice noticed him, and stopped him. "Look, you've probably seen what I've done to him, and I regret it, okay? I truly do." She said, grasping onto him. He didn't want to listen to her. But she had something to hold onto also. "Let me help you. I know where he is." Felice noted. Levi nodded.
They ran down corridors, they went down flights of stairs. "He was transported here about an hour ago. He isn't well." Felice warned him, but Levi didn't care at the moment. He wanted to see Eren.
It finally came down to the last hall. Eren would be at the end. Levi ran ahead of Felice, and she cringed. Levi turned to the cage. He saw Eren.
A broken one.
