Storm:

The wind was blowing at full force as Shifu made his way to the barracks. The storm had recently approached the valley – minutes ago, to be more precise – and Shifu had left the Training Hall, just to be met with dark clouds, thunder, rain and strong wind.

Shifu had in fact been afraid that he wouldn't even be able to make it into the barracks, given that the wind was probably strong enough to blow him away. As soon as Shifu closed the door, the wind that could be heard outside was muffled – slightly.

Of course, Master Oogway was probably outside, meditating, even in weather like this. Such things, Shifu would never understand about the old Master. Shifu would have for sure lost focus due to the storm.

Making his way into his room Shifu, due to feeling the fur in his face, came to realize just how fluffy and ruffled his fur was. Shifu sighed to himself. He had never been too crazy about his appearance… but if Junjie saw…

Suddenly Shifu heard the door to his room close, and before he could even react, he felt a pair of arms embrace him from behind, as well as Junjie's front side press against his back.

"Such a mess, my little Shifu," Junjie chuckled to himself. Furthermore, Shifu was surprised when he suddenly felt Junjie starting to groom his fur with a comb. "Why were you outside – in such weather?"

"I just came from the Training Hall," Shifu muttered, half of him annoyed, the other half appreciating the attention that Junjie was currently giving him.

"Excuses, excuses," Junjie said in a rather playful, yet also sarcastic tone of voice. Shifu rolled his eyes in slight annoyance. "You should really be more cautious – look at the mess you've made."

Shifu's ears perked a bit when he heard a slightly muffled chuckle from Junjie. This made Shifu know that Junjie was simply playing with him. Shifu jumped in surprise when suddenly he felt Shifu pull him closer.

"What's the matter dearest," Junjie said in a playful and somewhat false-sounding tone. "Is it the storm?"

Shifu didn't answer for a moment. Junjie moved closer. The red fox sat down, pulling Shifu with him, so that Shifu now sat in his lap. Junjie was holding Shifu in a tight embrace, and Shifu's hands were softly resting on Junjie's.

"Or did you just miss me?" Junjie teased.

"I was just in the Training Hall," Shifu said, a bit puzzled by Junjie's question. "And you've been home all day – it's not like you've actually been out of town or anything."

Junjie just chuckled once more and Shifu simply rolled his eyes. Shifu managed to turn around in the embrace and put both arms around Junjie's neck, giving his lover a kiss on the lips. "But maybe I did miss you."

"I knew it," Junjie chuckled before kissing Shifu once more. He frowned, and his ears flickered a bit. "I wonder when that storm will end."

Shifu's ears perked. "Did you hear that?"

"Hear what?" Junjie asked confused.

"I think someone knocked on the door."

Sighing, Junjie got up and walked towards the door of Shifu's room, and soon he was headed for the door to the outside. Junjie opened the door, but there was no one there… only the rain.

Suddenly a pair of hands pushed Junjie forwards. Stumbling forwards, Junjie managed to turn around, just to see Shifu with a teasing grin on his face stand in the door.

"Shifu, this is not funny," Junjie growled as he started knocking on the door – hard.

"I think it is," Shifu chuckled. It wasn't because Junjie hadn't ever done a similar thing to Shifu. After a half a minute or so, Shifu did decide to open the door. He was met with a very wet and grumpy-looking Junjie.

"Very funny, Shifu," Junjie said, taking off his small glasses. He grinned. "Now, come here and give me a hug."

Shifu backed away. "I'd rather not."

"Come on now, little Shifu~!" Junjie walked towards Shifu who kept backing away. Soon Shifu ran into the barracks with a wet Junjie behind him. Once the two came to the hallway that led to the rooms, Shifu quickly turned, still laughing.

However, when Junjie came to this hallway, he was so wet that he slipped and crashed into some stuff. Shifu stopped when he heard the noise. "Junjie?"

There was no answer, so carefully Shifu walked towards the end of the hallway. Just before he could turn to the right, he was jumped by a wet figure.

"Aah!" Shifu screamed, sounding a bit girly. He started laughing like crazy once Junjie started snuggling against him, getting both of them very wet. Though still pleading for his lover to stop, Shifu couldn't help but laugh like crazy.

"Ahem." The two stopped abruptly and looked up to see Master Oogway, a somewhat stern expression on his face, though also the trace of a smile.

"You're back," Shifu said, as he got off of Junjie, blushing. "Where were you?"

"Meditating," Oogway said, sounding somewhat peaceful. He frowned a bit. "But I lost concentration because of the storm… But mostly I wanted to see how you two were doing."

"Why's that?" Junjie asked.

"Because Shifu used to be scared of lightning," Oogway said, much to the embarrassment of Shifu. And of course, Junjie started chuckling. Oogway looked backward on the trail of water and mud that was left on the floor. "Someone will need to clean this up."

"It was Junjie," Shifu said quickly, also sounding somewhat childish. Junjie simply grumbled some answer and went to get some stuff to clean up.

To be or not to be:

"Is something wrong?" Master Oogway asked Shifu. The red panda had seemed somewhat depressed the last two days. Shifu was currently lying with his face against the table in the dining hall, a rather strange thing in Oogway's eyes.

All Shifu did was sigh, which was muffled by the table against his face. Finally he started, "Master… What should I do?"

"About what, Shifu?"

"Well… you know how Junjie and I are… you know." Shifu looked up. A somewhat sad face on the red panda's face, but also one that looked somewhat scared, in a sense. Master Oogway slowly nodded. "Well, I'm just confused."

"Because you have feelings for him?" Master Oogway asked. Shifu shook his head.

"No, it's because… well, usually two males wouldn't do what we do, I guess," Shifu said with a sigh. "And… well, I don't know what to be."

Master Oogway patiently said, "Please continue."

"For starters, I kind of feel like one of us should be… well, the girl in the relationship," Shifu said, suddenly finding the floor to be interesting to look at. "And… well, I don't know if Junjie expects me to be it."

Master Oogway slowly nodded. Unfortunately he couldn't say that he had ever been in a similar situation. Shifu blushed a bit. "And if we were to… you know… do that… I wouldn't know what to do, I guess."

Master Oogway coughed a little, as the conversation had gotten to a rather awkward point. "W-well, I unfortunately cannot say much, Shifu. But I do know one thing."

Shifu waited for his Master to reply. After ten seconds, Shifu became impatient. "So, what is it?"

"From what I can see, you are both happy together," Master Oogway started. He continued after a few seconds. "And even with the many… ahem, complications the two of you have had in the past, I think you have made the right choice."

"What choice?" Shifu asked confused.

"Choosing each other," Master Oogway said. He smiled at Shifu. "And I'm sure that in your heart, you do know what you want. And what you want is what you want."

Shifu tilted his head. Of course what one wanted, was what one wanted. What was his point exactly, Shifu wondered. "And?"

"And you do not have to act a certain way because of the world," Master Oogway said. "Make the world be the way you want it to be."

Shifu blinked a few times. "I… I think I understand… Thanks, Master."

Master Oogway simply smiled. "I hope you do. Now, I do believe we have run out of rice. You wouldn't mind picking up some in the village, now would you?"

"Why can't Junjie do it?" Shifu asked. Oogway sent Shifu a stern, yet somewhat playful look. The red panda sighed. "Alright, Master, I'll be right back."

Rooftop Meeting:

Shifu quietly left the barracks. The reason for being so careful was that he didn't want Master Oogway to hear him. As Shifu exited the barracks, he came to realize that this was the first time he had done something that Oogway certainly wouldn't have liked… yet; this thought also encouraged him somewhat.

As he came to the staircase that led to the village, Shifu remembered the letter he had found in his room. "Meet me in the village after Oogway's gone to sleep. Love, Junjie."

Shifu's heart was racing quite a bit. Not just from running down the stairs, but also because he wasn't quite sure whatever Junjie had in mind. Once he finally came to the bottom of the staircase, Shifu stood there for a bit. Junjie's letter had only told him to come to the village, but it hadn't exactly said a word about where exactly to meet him.

Eventually Shifu decided to just simply walk around the village for a bit, just to see if he could eventually find Junjie somewhere. As Shifu continued, he suddenly heard a voice. "Shifu, up here!"

Looking up, Shifu found Junjie standing on the rooftop of the building next to Shifu. Junjie signaled for Shifu to come up. Shifu was a bit surprised by the fact that he was on top of a roof, but nonetheless, Shifu managed to get up by using various items, such as a nearby carriage to make his way up to Junjie.

"There you are," Junjie chuckled. He took Shifu's hand.

"So, why have thee summoned me?" Shifu giggled. He smiled at Junjie.

"Well, I just thought we needed a little quality time together," Junjie said with a smirk.

Shifu frowned. "Hmm? But we're together every day."

Junjie just chuckled in response. He kissed Shifu's cheek. This led Shifu to believe that there must have been something else to it. Junjie then walked a bit away, sat down, and signaled for Shifu to come over.

When Shifu sat down next to Junjie, he scooted closer to his lover. Junjie put his one arm around Shifu. Shifu snuggled up against Junjie. "So, what did you really want to talk to me about?"

"Well, I wanted to ask you something," Junjie said. Shifu was surprised to see the red fox blushing.

"And that is?"

"Well, in a few days, I'll be leaving," Junjie told Shifu.

"Why?" Shifu asked confused.

Junjie chuckled nervously for a bit. "Well, home… you know, I'm going home to see my parents."

"Oh," Shifu said, trying his best not to sound disappointed. "Hmm… so what did you want to ask me then?"

"I… wanted to ask you… if you'd like to meet them," Junjie said, somewhat shyly. Shifu was very surprised by this. It was a bit strange though; as far as Shifu was aware, Junjie's parents didn't know about his relationship with Shifu. So did this mean Junjie would just simply tell them by bringing Shifu along?

"So do you want to?" Junjie asked after a moment's silence.

"I… Yes," Shifu said, still surprised. Junjie chuckled to himself once more.

"You sound surprised," he said with a smirk. Shifu nodded. "Well, my father has always been against things like this, but I've never really cared. Shifu, I know what I like, and you're it – that's what I really care about."

Shifu felt all warm and fuzzy inside, hearing this. The fact alone that Junjie could say such deep words to him – about him – were enough to make Shifu swoon. Instead of replying with words, Shifu simply pressed his lips against Junjie's.

It seemed to take the red fox a bit by surprise, but he liked it nonetheless. Pulling back, Shifu looked endearingly at Junjie.

"So is that a 'yes'?" Junjie asked chuckling.

"Yes," Shifu replied and snuggled up against Junjie.

"That's what I was hoping," Junjie said and stroked Shifu's back. Shifu sighed contently. However, one thing did buck him; Junjie had no chance of meeting his parents… or rather, father.
