Yo, Forest Dragon Slayer is back and I have updated once more! Sorry I can't post as often. I'm doing a lot and school isn't so forgiving. Good thing I have winter break soon. Another factor is that again, I have no romantic experience and I have a hard time thinking about romantic scenarios. Speaking of that, I want to thank those who actually tried to give me suggestions although they all revolved around a love triangle or love rivalry for some reason. Thanks regardless. I did get an idea from that. I will have to say though it won't be something like having another girl character like Erza falling for Natsu and forming a love triangle as suggested. I don't like putting characters in situations where their heart could be broken since this is a NatsuxKagura fanfic and the couple will be Natsu and Kagura here. But I assure you people who suggested those things. I didn't disregard any of it and you've given me the great idea I'm going to put in this chapter. Well, at the very least introduce, depending on how the chapter writing goes. Remember, I write the beginning author note before I write the actual chapter and the author note at the end after I finish writing it. (Except the next part of the note)
Next, I would like to give some credit to xchrispx since I used one of his chapters from his story, Bond of Fire and Iron as a skeleton of sorts for part of this chapter. Do not worry, I did not completely rip it off from his/her fanfic as have I put in my own original touches and scenes and I only used it as a basis.
Since I've made Eugene a big part of the story sort of, if you want to know what he looks like, he has his own wiki page on the Fairy Tail Fanon wiki! This might be easier for referencing his appearance and I might put in characters I made on there in this fanfic. If you want to find him, just search up Eugene Woodland on the site. Or if you don't want to look at it, just know I based his appearance off of Kirito from Sword Art Online.
Again, I know there are some of you out there who just get a fanficiton account to review stories or do other things except writing stories. Try writing something! I personally think it's a waste to not write them. Also, it's fun! If you got a story idea in your head, write it! If you need any sort of assistance to write one, I'll be happy to help. Yeah, I'll probably repeat this message the next few chapters.

Natsu Dragneel was sitting in the guild hall and chatting with his fellow guild mates. Although he truly did enjoy being with his girlfriend Kagura, he liked to kick back and just relax sometimes too. Kagura had decided to go on a job so Natsu just went with it and decided to go with it and just hang out with his guild mates which he hadn't really done in a while. He hasn't even gone on a job for a while. He was just sitting around for a bit and then he remembered another thing he hadn't done in a while.
"Hey Eugene, want to fight?" He asked the Dragon Slayer sitting across from him. "We haven't done so in a while and I'm itching for a good one!"
"Sure Natsu." Eugene said with a grin. "I've been wanting to test the results of my training."
"I'll join in too." Gajeel said having heard the conversation. "I'll pound you two into next week."
"Bring it on you tin can." Natsu replied with a smirk as the three of them went outside for the three way brawl.
"I'm ready whenever you are." Eugene said as he readied himself. The three then charged at each other and began to throw punches and kicks at rapid pace. After a bit, they realized that they were equal in terms of strength and basic hand to hand combat and decided to throw magic into the mix. This of course caused members of the guild to duck for cover knowing the destructive tendencies of Dragon Slayers.
"Fire Dragon's Iron Fist!" Natsu threw the fire covered fist at Eugene who blocked it using fire proof plants but then was punched by Gajeel who came from behind. Natsu took advantage of the situation and got Gajeel square in the stomach before getting hit by Eugene who was doing the same thing as Natsu in taking advantage. The fight continued like this for a while, causing small craters to form in the ground from the destruction making people have an anime teardrop. They didn't however notice the figure charging in their direction.
"Natsu!" Kagura exclaimed as she bulldozed all three of them to their surprise and tackled Natsu to the ground.
"What's wrong Kagura?" Natsu asked slightly worried about whatever's gotten Kagura so riled up. The swordswoman pulled out a rolled up magazine from her pocket and showed it to Natsu while pointing to at a specific section. "See? Look at this! Sorcerer Weekly is going to interview us about our relationship! I don't know how they got the information about us dating but now I don't know what to do!"
"Calm down Kagura." Natsu said trying to get Kagura to regain her composure.
"So that's what a magazine is." Eugene said taking the magazine from Kagura and began to flip through it. "I don't see what's causing such a ruckus."
"Kagura seems to be embarrassed about our relationship being public." Natsu said still trying to calm Kagura down.
"I still don't see what the fuss is." Eugene said in confusion to the swordswoman's reaction due to his unknowing of the apparent importance of publicity. (I don't know much about it either.)
"By the way, who arranged the interview anyway?" Gray asked. "Natsu hates the guy."
"I did." everyone turned around and saw Makarov walking towards them.
"What the hell Gramps! You can't just go signing us up for things!" Natsu exclaimed in annoyance.
"I hope you did not forget about our opinion on this matter?" Kagura asked somewhat cross.
"Of course not." Makarov replied not missing a beat. "I'm sure you're aware that ever since the Grand Magic Games, Natsu has gathered quite a number of fan girls." said Makarov, causing Kagura's eye to twitch. "So I saw this as your chance to show those girls he's yours."
"We've got to get new clothes for this interview!" Kagura exclaimed as she took Natsu by the hand and ran towards the town faster than most people could see causing some of the guild members to sweat drop.
At the clothes shop…
"Kagura, why are we clothes shopping again?" Natsu asked as he saw his girlfriend look though several clothing racks, sometimes taking some out and comparing them. "I know you've been interviewed by Sorcerer Weekly before in your normal outfit so why do we need new ones for this interview?"
"Does this suit me better or does this one?" Kagura asked holding up two outfits trying to get Natsu's opinion on them.
"Why do women take so long to buy clothes?" Natsu questioned. "You look fine in anything you wear, so just pick one."
"We need to have the right clothes for this interview to make a good impression." Kagura replied actually somewhat fired up despite her earlier response to the situation.
"I really don't think we need to dress up to show that we're a couple." Natsu said still not seeing the need to do so.
"I do not wish for any other women to flirt with you so I will make it known to the world that you're mine." Kagura replied with a slight blush. "I'll be trying these on." Looks like what Gramps said really affected her. Natsu thought with a sweat drop as his girlfriend went to the changing rooms.
"So she's the jealous type huh?" Eugene said out of nowhere coming out of discount clothes bin next to him. As one would expect, his sudden appearance shocked Natsu making him almost fall over. (Sorry folks, I just couldn't resist putting a Eugene comedy scene in. Also, I needed something to add to the chapter while Natsu's waiting for Kagura who's trying out clothes)
"You've got to stop doing that!" Natsu exclaimed to his fellow Dragon Slayer still both used to and not used to his sudden appearances due to Eugene's usual hidden presence. "And what are you doing here anyway!? Did the guild tell you to spy on us?"
"No actually. To be honest, I have no idea how I got here." Eugene replied making Natsu anime flip. "I felt like getting a couple of bars of ice cream so I decided to go to the ice cream store. After I got a box of ice cream bars and left the store, I got lost on my way back to the guild and somehow ended up in this bin." I was expecting an answer like that from this guy for some reason. Natsu thought to himself with another sweat drop. "By the way, try not to injure the reporter like you did last time he came to do an interview at the guild."
"So you found out it's the same guy?" Natsu asked with a smirk. "Yet you didn't know what a magazine was until today."
"Hey, I didn't really pay attention at that time." Eugene said with a slight pout. "All I can really remember of that day was him saying 'COOL!' all the time and you hitting him." Natsu gave a sheepish smile at this. "Why do you need new clothes for this interview anyway? You had your normal clothes on last time. In fact, the only people that didn't wear their usual attire were Gray who didn't really wear clothes although that's normal, Lucy who for some reason kept trying to get attention, and Erza who kept changing clothes. Human society is so weird needing so many clothes."
"Definitely." Natsu said in agreement. "But I guess Kagura wants to make our relationship obvious."
"Well then, here's a tip." Eugene began to say but Natsu cut him off.
"A fashion tip coming from you, who's basically like a ninja Tarzan?" Natsu said about to laugh at that but Eugene continued while taking an ice cream bar out of the box he was holding.
"I was about to suggest having your clothes match in color and theme. That would definitely show that you two are together." Eugene said as he began eating his ice cream to Natsu surprise as he didn't expect the former forest dweller to actually have a good suggestion for something like this.
"That's a great idea, thanks!" Natsu said with a grin. "Now I just gotta wait to see what Kagura's wearing. By the way, I've been wanting to thank you for your help in getting us together."
"I don't know what you're talking about." Eugene replied trying to keep a straight face as he started on his third ice cream bar.
"You can't fool me, Moss let it slip out one day." Natsu said making Eugene flinch in the fact that he had been discovered. Stupid cat. Eugene thought to himself and was planning on reprimanding his Exceed partner at a later time.
"If you actually think about it, you two were the ones who actually made it work." Eugene replied.
"But it probably wouldn't have started without that push so I gotta thank you for that." Natsu said. "By the way, if you know that much about romance, why haven't you made a move on a girl yet?" Eugene's face went somewhat red and caused him to panic a little.
"Um, Ah, I gotta go. See ya!" Eugene said in an embarrassed tone before diving into the depths of the discount clothes bin. Natsu rushed over and searched the clothes bin but mysteriously couldn't find a trace of the dragon slayer who was there previously making the pinkette scratch his head. How does he do that? Natsu thought to himself in confusion.
"Natsu, why are you looking in there?" Kagura asked in confusion just arriving to the scene. Natsu just smiled nervously because he didn't want to say that Eugene popped out of the clothes bin all of a sudden and then later disappeared without a trace which would have sounded crazy to anyone except to those in the guild. "Anyway, what do you think of these? I tried to wear something that would match you." Kagura was showing off the clothes she was trying on. She was currently wearing an outfit that consisted of a tank top, black sweater and skirt. (Sorry, I'm not so good at describing clothing either so try your best to imagine it. Maybe somebody could make a better description to use and then send it to me?)
"Whoa" Natsu said in awe seeing Kagura's new look.
"I'm assuming you like it from that reaction. I'll buy it!" Kagura said with a smile. "Now we just need to find something for you." All of a sudden, a pair of pants and a long sleeve shirt that were similar in style to his usual wear but a similar color as Kagura's clothes were launched into Natsu's face.
"Where the hell did these come from!?" Natsu exclaimed in surprise. "Ah well, I'll try these on." After putting the clothes on, he looked at himself in a mirror and saw to his satisfaction that both of them now had on matching outfits. "We look good." He said approvingly.
"You look especially handsome." Kagura complimented looking him over.
"Thanks, the only thing is that it covers my guild mark." Natsu said looking at his shoulder where the guild mark was located.
"I can take the sleeve off later." Kagura assured him. "We'd probably get in trouble if we ripped it off here." Natsu nodded and the two changed back into their original clothes before going to the cashier to pay for the new clothes they have chosen.
1 day later…
"Coooooool!" Jason roared to Natsu's annoyance as he stepped into the guild hall for the interview.
"Man, this guy is annoying." Natsu said low enough in volume that only Kagura and the other Dragon Slayers could hear due to their enhanced hearing and Kagura being close enough.
"Please bear with it for now." Kagura said as she tried to calm her boyfriend down as she held his hand.
"You two are matching! How coooool!" Jason shouted as he took pictures, causing Natsu's restraint to lessen. He really wanted to beat the crap out of the reporter in front of him for being so annoying.
"Is Natsu-san really going to be all right?" Wendy asked her guild mates with concern at a somewhat distant table from the couple.
"I can tell this will get violent fast." Lucy said
"I can already picture him punching Jason across the guild." Gray commented knowing Natsu's tendencies. "Not that I blame him for wanting to do so, couldn't they have gotten a less annoying reporter?"
"Aye" Happy said in agreement.
"While he isn't the most tact of reporters, his articles are quite detailed. Perhaps that's why Sorcerer Weekly lets him act as he pleases." Erza said.
"Detailed or not, he's gonna be in a world of hurt if Natsu loses it." Gray said in response.
"Seems to me that the two of them are rather dying in embarrassment right now." Eugene said noting how Natsu and Kagura turned red in the face when Jason began asking question relating to how far they've gotten in the relationship and such. Yup, Natsu's gonna lose it. They all thought in unison. They were correct as Jason was sent flying across the guild hall.
"Coooool!" Jason exclaimed in excitement before he crash landed into a table. He soon got back on his feet seemingly unaffected and began to write on his notepad. "I should totally write this down! Cool!"
"You're really getting on my nerves!" Natsu said as he hit the guy again this time in the direction of the table where Eugene, Gray, Erza, Wendy, Lucy, Happy and Charle were. This of course caused all of them to flee except Erza who was too focused on eating her strawberry cake.
CRASH!
"Coooooool!" Jason exclaimed once more writing down stuff on his notepad. Unfortunately, he did not notice what he just squashed until he felt a murderous aura behind him.
"You… You ruined my cake!" Erza exclaimed in anger causing everyone especially Jason to be fearful. Well, everyone except for Kagura who's eyes was gleaming at the sight.
"Erza-sama is so amazing being able to silence so many people like that!" Kagura exclaimed in admiration and respect everyone saw Erza go on a rampage on the poor reporter.
"I've heard stories but this is the first time I've seen Erza's cake rampage. It's quite fearsome indeed." Eugene said with a grim smile.
"Erza Rule #1, don't EVER touch her strawberry cake." Natsu said having a similar expression.
"Um, shouldn't somebody stop her before she kills him?" Lucy said seeing that nobody had even tried to stop the rage of the red head.
"I don't think anyone here wants to die yet." Moss said.
"Aye." Happy said nodding his head in agreement. After some time, Mirajane was finally able to calm the red head down by giving her another cake and Jason was able to continue the interview albeit somewhat frightful. The rest of the interview went on without much hassle. The questions were normal ones to be asked in this kind of interview although some caused more blushing from the couple than others. When asked when they fell in love they both answered with from when they were kids and they explained their little love tale which caused some 'awws' and snickers at the funny parts to slip out from everyone else watching. After the interview was over, Jason thanked them for their time before asking whether there was anything they wanted to say before he left.
"If any guy gets even the thought of flirting with her, I'll burn them alive with my flames!" Natsu exclaimed in response which made Kagura blush slightly out of embarrassment.
"I-I would also like to say something." Kagura said somewhat nervously with her face bright red. "Na-Natsu is mine. I-If any girl tries to flirt with him, I will cut her up!"
"Was she trying to sound menacing?" Eugene asked in confusion as they just heard her line.
"I think she was trying to copy Natsu and make sure she keeps Natsu to herself." Erza said eating another cake.
"I think that sounded more cute than menacing." Wendy commented.
"This is giving me great ideas for my romance novel!" Lucy said in delight.
"The reason why you need reference material is because you can't get a boyfriend yourself!" Happy said to her in a teasing manner before flying away from the celestial spirit mage who began chasing him. An hour after Jason left, Kagura decided that she needed to get going home and Natsu said he would at least walk her to the train station as he wouldn't be able to get back on his own if he went with her. Holding hands, the couple walked to the train station slowly as they wanted to prolong their time together. As they began walking, a hooded figure passed by them.
"You can run, but you can't hide." The hooded person said in a quiet voice that determined the person's gender to be female before she left their hearing range. Natsu didn't really pay much attention to it but it made Kagura however to show signs of slight panic and worry as she tightened her grip on Natsu's hand. Natsu noticed this and began to sense his girlfriend's emotional state.
"What's wrong Kagura?" Natsu asked in worry. Not wanting him to worry, Kagura shook it off and smiled with a slight blush on her face.
"It's nothing." Kagura replied. "Actually, could I stay at you place for a bit?" Natsu wanted to ask why but decided against wanting Kagura to say it herself instead of him forcing her.
"Sure, you're always welcome at my place!" Natsu said with a grin as they now headed towards the forest where his house was located.
That's another chapter completed! Apparently, I barely even introduced the scenario for the next part and for that I apologize. I wanted to put more in for that but then I remembered that I'm writing a Christmas chapter for this fanfic after this one and it would be too weird and awkward if I introduced it and then all of a sudden go the Christmas chapter. Well, at least you have the Christmas chapter to look forward to where the two of them share their first Christmas together as a couple! This is Forest Dragon Slayer signing off until the holidays!
