I got chased by a mythological one eyed man who was murdered by my best friend, who I'm now carrying because she is unconscious. Yeah, I was having a shitty day.
I stumbled into the camp, my limbs were sore and I was tired. I heard a few gasps and I looked and saw a group of teens, they were all wearing the same orange Camp Half-blood shirt. I wanted to shout "Help!" but I couldn't bring myself to do it.
I stumbled toward them and cursed quietly, couldn't they run any faster!? I heard them stop and I held in a groan, what now? I saw their eyes look up and I decided to see what all the fuss was about.
I stared as an electric blue lightning bolt appeared over my head and as a sea green trident appeared over Andy. I heard the group gasp at the sight of the two symbols. I looked at the group, there were two teens in the front, the leaders. They were older than me but not by much and they stood straight and confident as if they were ready for anything.
The blonde girl reminded me a lot of Ellie, with her calculating grey eyes except the girl in front of me had a dark look in her eyes. She shared the look with the boy besides her, her boyfriend judging by the way he stood protectively in front of her. He had messy black hair and sea green eyes that were exactly like Andy's, they even held the same sadness in them,.
The teens behind them were a good looking Latino elf, a pretty girl with golden eyes and a girl with kaleidoscope eyes. They all were wearing armor and holding weapons. I momentarily wondered who would give teenagers pointy weapons before the pain in my back returned. Sheesh, Andy was heavy! I
looked down at my best friend who was peacefully unconscious.
"Percy s-she's your-" The blonde girl said suddenly to the boy with Andy's eyes, he must be Percy. I suddenly imagined Andy smacking me over the head at how stupid I was sometimes. Percy then turned to look at Andy in shock and I glared at him. Andy hated when the male gender looked at her and I felt like her new "brother" was violating his "sisters" privacy.
He ignored my glare and continued to stare at her before he breathed out two words to the blonde girl who I still didn't know the name of, "My sister"
Percy suddenly straightened up even more, if that was even possible and turned to the blonde group that was rushing over. A blonde teenager with very light blue eyes caught me attention and I held in a gasp. He was breath-taking with his luscious b- wait what the fuck!? I am seriously not going to go into what Andy calls "Girl Mode" over some random guy I just met.
"Will, get my sister to the camp infirmary" Percy directed to the blonde that had literally taken my breath away. He nodded and carefully walked over. I tried to ignore the blush that was currently making its way up my face as I hesitantly handed Andy over to him and his siblings. His sibling immediately took Andy away and I watched her leave with a pained expression.
Will lingered momentarily and he gently squeezed my shoulder for comfort. I felt the warmth in my cheeks as he smiled and jogged off toward the building where his siblings had taken Andy. I looked down as I tried to control the stupid joy that I got when Will touched me.
I remembered what my mother had told me about love and my father "Love is for the foolish James! I was foolish to believe in your father. So please..do not make the same mistakes as I did and do not fall in love"
I was snapped out of my thoughts when I felt someone's eyes on me. I looked up and saw Percy inspecting me. I would glare at him but I was tired and worried about Andy.
"Will she be okay?" I asked and Percy stopped inspecting me and nodded. "Yes. Will, the blonde that took her away, is one of the most talented healers here" He said and I nodded with a blank expression. Percy was waiting for a reaction when he mentioned Will and I would not give him the satisfaction of seeing me vulnerable.
"Oh well if you say so" I said reluctantly, I didn't trust him or anyone here. We'd never admit it but Andy and I had some trust issues. "I'm James, just James" I told him. If he was going to become an Allie or possibly even a friend, I wanted him to like me because of who I was and not because of who my mother was.
"Nice to meet you James, I'm Percy Jackson" He introduced himself and placed a hand out in front of him. I shook his hand and was about to say something when I heard footsteps coming toward us. I looked and saw Ellie and Derek. I felt myself smiling as I saw Ellie's wild blonde and brunette hair all over the place and Derek trying not to trip over anything.
"Oh James, you're okay!" Ellie yelled and she ran over and hugged me. I felt another pair of smaller arms and I knew Derek had joined our little hug fest. I chuckled and hugged them tightly, I was so glad that they were okay.
"Ellie, Derek I'm fine" I said with a chuckle as the two looked me over for non-existing wounds. They looked around confused and then they looked at me, worry clear on their face.
"W-Where's Andy?" Derek asked as he looked around, tears building up in his eyes. I knew Derek saw Andy as his older sister. I wondered how to tell him that Andy had been injured without getting them to freak out.
"Andy got hurt but don't worry, Andy's new brother, the son of Poseidon, say's they can fix her right up!" I said pointed toward Percy who gave them an awkward wave. Ellie began to stare at Percy, who squirmed under her calculating stare. Derek was looking at him, and I knew we were all inspecting him to see if he was worthy of being Andy's brother.
Suddenly a grew owl appeared over Ellie's head and a golden lyre appeared over Derek. Athena and Apollo.
Wait.
A trident appeared over Andy and a lightning bolt appeared over me. Poseidon and Zeus.
Well shit.
I'm a son of Zeus. I'm a son of ZEUS! I'M A FUCKING SON OF ZEUS.
Alright I'm done with my freakout and this can't be real. I blame Andy. Yes blame Andy, who is unconscious, James. Shut up voice in my head!
"Well that was anticlimactic" I said as I broke the tension. I heard footsteps and I looked to see Percy's blonde girlfriend. She looked at Ellie and Derek for a second before looking back at me.
"Hello, I'm Annabeth Chase, you three must be the new campers. The son of Zeus" She said in my direction and I nodded. My life was already shitty, so why no make it shittier, right? Ellie looked at me in surprise and Derek looked at me in awe.
"Yea that's me, I'm James" I said and she looked at me. She was looking me down and up and I felt totally creeped out.
"You must be the son of Apollo" She said to Derek and his eyes widened in excitement. He smiled and jumped up and down with his bow. Wow, did he have his bow with him the whole time?
"Wow. The Gods are real! We're demigods. Hey Percy if you're a son of Poseidon, does that mean you can surf really well?" He asked as he bounced around. I chuckled but I saw the sad looks that flashed quickly on Percy and Annabeth's faces.
"I don't know kid, I've never tried" Percy said and I saw that his face had returned to a happy mask. I looked at Derek who was still smiling excitedly.
"And you must be my new sister" Annabeth said to Ellie. Ellie looked at her new sister and analyzed her as if she was some experiment.
"Yes, I'm Elizabeth Wise but call me Ellie and he's Derek Primavera" Ellie said and motioned toward Derek who was looking all around.
"Well it's nice to meet you. I'll be showing you around and we'll pass by the Infirmary so you can see your friend" We nodded and followed her.
The tour was pretty boring in my opinion, it was mostly just looking at the same cabin just with different designs on it. I stared at all the kids of different ages as they talked and battled each other. Annabeth went on and on about the Gods and other stuff about them.
I did learn about my Roman brother(Roman and Greek, please spare me the headache, Annnabeth) Jason Grace who would only stay here for s few months. She also told me about Thalia Grace, Jason sister, well my sister who was an immortal hunter of Artemis. Wow my "family" is kind of complicated.
After making sure Annabeth took Derek and Ellie to their cabin, and that they settled in before going to the infirmary. I walked to the big blue building and entered the door that said "Infirmary". As I entered I was shocked at how big and how cool everything looked.
There were blonde kids everywhere that were checking on the patients and I noticed some of the patients had sword wounds. I smirked, sword wounds left the most badass scars.
I looked over and saw a blonde girl with a clipboard and walked over to her. I tapped her on the shoulder. She looked at me and her lip curled into a smile.
"Yes can I help you?" She said with a flirty look on her face. Oh shit, she's hitting on me. Act cool, James.
"Yes, can you tell me where Andromeda Knight is, you know the new daughter of Poseidon?" I said and her eyes widened in excitement.
"So that what her name is, all Percy told us was that she was his new sister. Poor guy, didn't even know her name" She said and anger rang through my veins. Percy doesn't even know her bloody name and he's already calling her his sister.
"Yeah well, can you tell me where she is?" I said with an eye roll. She looked at me suspiciously and then her eyes widened again.
"Are you her boyfriend?" She asked with a disappointed look on her face. I looked at her in horror.
"No, god no! Can you just tell me where she is!" I asked impatiently. She glared at me.
"She's the last bed on the left" She said and began to walk away. "Bye" I yelled after her and she flipped me the bird. I chuckled and started walking over to the end of the beds.
I heard Andy's voice as I got closer and I could literally feel her glare. She must be better if she's already glaring again.
"I'm fine Percy, really I can get up" I heard footsteps, then someone stumbling and then a curse "See Andy you can't even stand! Get back in bed at this instant!"
I winced and started walking faster to stop Andy's temper and possibly save Percy's life. Andy didn't like when people told her what to do, she said it reminded her of her old orphanage caretaker. I was pretty sure Andy was about to snap and yell at Percy. I didn't like the way he just bossed her around but he didn't deserve to be under Andy's glare
I quickly walked up to her bed. Andy saw me and beamed, she motioned me to come sit and I did. "Jamie, tell Percy that he's being unreasonable" She said with a cute pout. I groaned inwardly, I was totally wrapped around Andy's finger and I could never deny her most things.
"Andy, you have to. You're injured" I said and looked away so I wouldn't have to see Andy's eyes that just begged for me to agree with her.
"Fine" She said reluctantly. Percy sent me a look that said "Why does she listen to you and not me" that I ignored. I knew Andy was very protective of her feelings and right now Percy was making her very uncomfortable. Andy listened to me because I had grown up with her, I knew how to handle her. This Percy boy would have to learn that just because he's blood related, it doesn't mean that you're immediately family.
Percy then told his sister that he had to leave and left. I was pretty fucking mad, Andy was just as much his sister as she was Percy's and that boy had just left her here. I was about to say something when I heard footsteps.
I turned to the side and saw it was Ellie and Derek. They were bickering and I just had to roll my eyes. Those two argued like siblings.
"The Apollo cabin is way better!"
"Be logical Derek, we have wisdom on our side!"
"Psh who needs wisdom when you have bows and arrow!"
"Who needs wisdom, I'll tell you who needs wisdom you illiterate fool!"
"SHUT UP!" Andy yelled her sea green eyes turning into terrifying waves. The two fell quiet and I reminded myself yet again to not get on Andy's bad side.
"Thank you now come in and tell me all about your cabins" Andy said with a smile. The two sat down and Ellie immediately spoke about all the book and knowledge in her cabin while Derek talked about the archery. I chuckled and froze when a powerful voice whispered in my ear,
"The heroes have arrived" and then the voice laughed.
I ignored the voice and the chill that came with it and joined in the conversation. Today had been a very weird day, although I couldn't help but feel that It was about to get worse.
