Sorry for the wait… again. I hate school, but mainly the time it takes out of my day. I didn't really like last chapter and I don't know how much better this one will be. I am working on my other fics—even if I have nothing to show you guys yet. I will upload more when I get the chance.

Disclaimer: I don't own Total Drama. Can I own just one episode? The finale of All-Stars maybe…? How about season 6? Please?

A/N: This may be the one story I do where there will not be any crack pairings for sure. I must try to keep it as canon as possible, meaning it will ONLY have TV couples. Cody's dream is in bold. This chapter will be slightly AU but it will stay virtually the same.

Kiss of Death ch.5

Episode: The Big Sleep

A Difficult Night

When the next challenge rolled around, Cody was prepared. It was a "last man standing" type of challenge. All of the campers had to see how long they could stay awake and whoever won got the victory for their team. This would be a piece of cake, Cody thought. Not because he could stay awake for long periods of time, but because he could keep an eye on people, mainly the girls. Okay, mainly Gwen. He had to stay away from her. He had to keep her safe.

Cody was just hanging in his cabin for a little bit after the feast in the beginning of the Awake-a-thon. Soon, the rest of his team, minus Gwen and Trent, came in and had an idea.

"Hey Cody! Wanna play 'Spin the Bottle' to keep us awake?" Owen asked. Heather looked annoyed at Owen, Lindsay look excited and Noah looked… extremely bored as always.

Izzy gave Cody a look that said "It wasn't like I could tell them. Be careful on how you answer this."

Nobody noticed the look except for Cody. He answered back with a look that said "Thanks, I guess?"

"Well, I'd love to, but I'd rather not right now." He answered calmly.

"Aww why not?" Owen asked disappointed.

Oh no… "I think I might be catching a cold or something. Wouldn't want any of you ladies to get sick, would I?" he replied with a glance at the girls in the room, including Izzy. When he looked at Izzy, she looked relieved. The other girls rolled their eyes. This was good. He liked their reactions. His routine was working.

"You sure man? It'll be awesome!" Owen asked. He wanted to do something for a team bonding exercise.

"Nah. It's cool. I'll probably just read one of my books or something." he assured the team.

"Oh okay, I guess. Feel better!" Owen said as everyone left. Once outside, they began talking.

"If everyone isn't going to play, then I'm not either!" Heather stated and left the group.

"And if Heather's out, so am I!" Lindsay and Beth said simultaneously, following Heather.

"Shame, I really wanted to play." Noah said sarcastically as he walked in the opposite direction.

"Not as fun with only a few people. Sorry Owen." Leshawna said walking away. Justin walked away silently, looking at himself in his mirror. Now only Owen and Izzy were left.

"Izzy, you still want to play?" Owen asked hopefully.

"Sure!" Izzy exclaimed, pouncing on Owen.

Meanwhile…

Cody's eyes were starting to close. He figured the outside air might wake him up a little.

After walking for a little bit, he sat down. He knew he was going to sleep soon. He eventually slid down so he was lying down, then he gave in to sleep.

"Hey, where am I?" Cody asked to no one in particular. Everything was kind of hazy. Then it cleared up. He knew he was in his house now. He heard his parents calling him. It reminded him of the day he found out he was an Amante Mortale. He walked downstairs and sure enough his parents were at the table.

"Now son…" Cody's dad began. Then…

"What? Oh it was only a dream. I'm still normal! I'm not a magical killer!" Cody celebrated, "waking up." Then he felt a slight pressure on his ear. I can actually enjoy this now…

Then Cody woke up for real. It took him a moment for him to realize that 1. He was being kissed by a guy—which didn't bother him a ton, as they were both asleep—2. He was in fact dreaming, and 3. As it slowly dawned on him, he realized that he was in fact, still an Amante. He realized that he could hurt Noah, who he saw was the kisser. He could kill his friend! As he realized this, he screamed. Noah screamed shortly before him, most likely because he kissed a guy.

Cody ran to the dock and jumped into the lake, hoping to clear his mind with the cool lake water. Noah ran the other way. "Cody, get a hold of yourself! You need to focus! This can't keep happening!" he scolded himself out loud, pulling himself back up on the dock.

"What do you need to focus on, man?"

"Ah! Oh. Geoff, right? Hey. Why are you out here?" Cody asked Geoff who was behind him.

"Dude, I could ask you the same question. I just needed some fresh air. Something wrong, man?" Geoff asked concerned.

"Nah. Just tired. Probably 'cause I went over 100 hours without sleep." Cody lied. He was tired, but that obviously wasn't the only reason.

"I know how that is." Geoff responded. "Well, I'm gonna go see Bridgette. See you later, Cody."

"See ya." He replied distantly.

He waited about an hour on the dock, just stargazing and thinking, before heading back to camp. He saw that Gwen had stayed awake the longest and won for their team. Of course it was Gwen, he thought sadly. She is too perfect to not win. I can't be here for too much longer if I want to keep everyone safe, especially her.

When Cody went back to the cabins he saw a mess outside the Killer Bass's cabins. Apparently Eva had thought someone stole her MP3 player and went into a rage trying to find it. Heather then came up and "nonchalantly" asked what happened. After hearing what happened, she pulled the missing MP3 player out of her pocket saying she found it on the ground. Well, Eva ended up going home. It wasn't much of a surprise to anyone, considering she acted like a psycho.

After everyone went to bed Cody just lay awake in his bunk thinking again. He didn't know what to do. Cody had no idea how he even got to sleep that night, with everything going on in his head.

Poor Cody! I was going to make this chapter continue into the next day, but, once again, I decided to cut it off here. If I continued the chapter I would have called it "A Letter from Home" (hint hint for what happens next chapter.) I love my readers and I give you all a cookie for a fifth chapter present! :)
