Hi all! I'm sooo sorry I didn't update the next chapter yesterday…I was forced at my job to work third shift and I had to come back to work my second shift hours today. I didn't have the time to update the chapter because I was sleeping then bouncing back to work on little sleep but here I am posting this next chapter for you all. This chapter I will say very little about because you have to read it to find out what has happened and if Glinda is alive or not. I won't keep you waiting any further. Read and enjoy!
Chapter 4
Glinda is breathing softly as she is laying on a make shift bed. She doesn't know how long she has been lying on the bed since she woke up from her dream. It is cleared the spell she used to connect her mind with Elphaba's worked and the green woman is none the wiser. She thinks that it was her spirit visiting her one final time. Glinda sniffles as she reaches up and wipes away the tear. Hearing Elphaba begging her to stay so they could be together forever was very tempting to do but she couldn't do it. The raven haired beauty needs to be ready for the future plus the blonde needs to finish what she has started. Glinda breathes deeply before she starts to sit up. She bites her bottom lip at the sharp pain going through her body.
"Ugh..." The blonde grimaces at the pain as she swings her legs over the side of the bed. The Gale Force soldiers really did a number on her body. She looks to her right shoulder and sees the sling has shifted down when she was sleeping. Glinda moves it back into place with a whimper. She suffers a broken collar bone and a broken arm on that side. She can't count how many bruises she has over her body or the stab wounds she received from the swords. They finally did stop the brutal assault when they realized who they were attacking. They also ran off like scared children afterwards, leaving her to bleed to death.
"Lady Glinda, what are you doing up? You are not fit to be up and about." Came a voice floating up from her feet. Glinda rolls her eyes and leans over the bed to look at whoever is talking to her. Malky is sitting in front of her feet, his fluffy white tail swishing back and forth in annoyance. This is not the first time he has caught Glinda trying to escape the confines of her bed.
"There is too much to do and I told you can call me Glinda." Glinda shot back with the same annoyed look on her face. Malky's ears go the side before leaping up onto the bed. He didn't save her ass from dying to have her screw it up by not letting her injuries heal properly.
"They can wait. You need to let your body heal up or me saying your ass was all for naught." The Cat snaps back with his ears going all the way back. He is just frustrated that ever since the blonde has been awake she has been trying to dictate certain things while trying to get out of the damn bed. Glinda would cross her arms and pout but since she can't cross her arms she will just have to curl her lips into a pout. She swears the white Cate has spent way too much time around Elphaba when she had sent him to spy on the green woman and made sure she was safe. He is so cranky now.
"I just need to make sure things are going as planned." Glinda looks down at him with her eyes shimmering with tears. She knows how to get him to do what she wants. The good witch just has to turn on the water works and make herself look pitiful. Malky gives a soft hiss and flicks his tail sharply. Glinda knows how to get him every time. He tells himself he would never give in the next time but it never happens.
"All right, if I bring it to you will you rest your injuries for once?" Malky retorts as he stands up and looks towards the blonde woman with his eyes narrowing. Glinda's face breaks out into a satisfied smile and nods her head in agreement. Just as long as she can see how her plans are doing. Whiskers twitch and with a huff the Cat jumps off the bed to keep his end of the bargain. Glinda closes her eyes and with her good arm clenches her stomach. The pain medication she has been receiving is beginning to wear off. The pain is pulsing from her stomach in waves and it gets more painful with each wave. She just hopes Malky is moving his little, white butt. She won't admit it the pain in front of him. It will make him even smugger than before. She breathes through her teeth as she lifts her legs up off the floor to bring them onto the bed. Glinda gives a whimper when a tremor of pain goes up her body at the movement. She wishes her body will heal faster so she can physically do stuff and not go crazy lying in her bed. With a huff, the blonde leans her back against the head board and closes her eyes. Lying down on the bed does help with the pain.
"Lady Glinda?"
Glinda looks towards where the soft spoken voice came from. A silver furred wolf stands in the door way with scrolls by their paws and a vial hanging around the thick neck. The good witch gives a smile at the animal and waves him in.
"I told you to just call me Glinda, Silver." Glinda replies as she watches the huge male walk up to her bed with the scrolls carefully in his jaws. His ears twitch as he sets them on her lap before looking to her with brilliant, green eyes. Glinda always thinks about how the color of his eyes is the same shade as Elphaba's skin color. It makes her heart ache for her lover.
"I will try and work on it La-Glinda." Silver replies with his tail swishing back and forth. He uses one of his paws and carefully removes the vial from around his neck. Malky has tasked him with making sure the blonde got her does of pain medication along with the updated plans.
"Here, your medication along with the updates on all the plans."
Glinda takes the vial before rubbing the top of the Wolf's head to say thanks for doing all of this for her. Silver gives an affectionate lick to her hand when it starts to retract from his head. Glinda gives a giggle at the lick and winks at him. He has been very good to her ever since Malky had her broken body taken to this Animal Resistance compound. Silver is the head of the sect that does information gathering and taking care of the wounded. The Wolf sits down and watches her with a careful eye as she drinks down the liquid from the vial. He wants to make sure she drinks every last drop. He doesn't like to see any Animal or human in pain. Glinda gives a slight shudder and a hard swallow to take down the nasty tasting medicine.
"Ok, I took it. Now we need to go over the plans." Glinda says grabs the first scroll and unfurls it to look what is written on it. Blue eyes move back and forth as the blonde silently reads what is on the scroll.
"They stopped at an in a couple of hours from the EC?" She questions with apprehension. She doesn't like that Fiyero stopped so soon after taking Elphaba away from the place where The Wizard and the Gale Force are still looking for her. Silver's left ear goes to the side and gives a soft sigh. He knows that the blonde would want her former lover all the way to Kiamo Ko already but there was an unforeseen storm that forced them to stop.
"They did. A bad storm forced them to stop. Our eyes in the skies had a hard time keeping track but Prince and Calypso are there. I will have some Animals to keep an eye out for Gale Force." Silver replies in hopes to try and get rid of the fears Glinda have fright now for Fiyero's and Elphaba's life. The blonde wriggles her nose in disappointment. She doesn't like that the two of them are still so close to the Wizard. They can be captured by his guards at any time.
"I would like that. Prince and Calypso can only do so much in keeping an eye out. I want an update tomorrow on their destination." Glinda dictates as she rolls up the scroll and sets it next to her leg. A part of her is sorely tempted to go to that inn where Elphaba has taken temporary taken refuge and reunite with her former lover. She gives a sad sigh and puts her left hand to her face. Her throat tightens up as the tears she has been forcing away ever since she has woken up in the Animal resistance compound. She wants to show Elphaba that she is alive and on the way to recovery. The blonde wants to feel her touch again and the warmth of the green woman's body against hers; she wants the full lips against hers for a passionate kiss. Glinda gives a jump when something wet goes across her right hand. She sniffles and looks towards where the source of the wetness came from. Her eyes soften and she gives a giggle when big, green eyes are looking up at her. Silver is just trying to cheer her up because he knows how much the good witch longs to be with Elphaba again.
"Thanks Sil." Glinda whispers as she reaches over and scratches behind his ear. The two haven't been together for a long time but she feels like she has known him for a long time.
"You're welcome. I promise you nothing will happen to her under my watch." Silver promises with his tail flicking in a strong way. The blonde nods her head towards him. She knows he will do everything he can to make sure Elphaba will not be harmed in anyway. The Wolf watches the good witch compose herself by clearing her throat and discreetly wiping away her tears with her good hand before setting it down on the bed. His ears twitch before he reaches forward and places his paw on top of hers in a comforting way. Glinda looks towards him and gives a reassuring smile to Silver. He silently promises himself that he will look after her and take care of her until he can reunite the two witches again. He will stake his life on it.
Glinda has survived the brutal attack from the Gale Force and is on the mend. It seems all she is focused on is making sure Elphaba stays alive and away from harm by the Wizard's hand. Will be she successful in doing this task while she is on the road to recovery? You will have to wait and see with the future chapters! Till next week, my faithful readers.
