Chapter 6

Silver is sitting outside of the resistance headquarters, his green eyes looking up at the clear sky expectantly. He is waiting for the updates on all of the missions Glinda has started for them. His tail is swishing softly on the cool grass with a thoughtful look on his face as he is still staring at the sky. It's been a month since Glinda has been rescued by Malky and taken in by hum. She has healed extremely well even though she was on death's door when she first arrived. Silver greatly admires her strength and determination that the good witch has in her to survive her grievous wounds. He is also in awe of the love Glinda has for Elphaba. All she is focused on is making sure that her former lover is safe at the hideaway in Kiamo Ko but the Wolf can sense the loneness coming off of her in waves. He can see that she wants to leave the compound and go towards Kiamo Ko to let Elphaba know she is alive but she has preoccupied with keeping tabs on the Wizard while trying to thwart any of his attempts to corral up Animals or people who are helping Animals out. The two talk almost every day but he knows it's not the same for her. She needs Elphaba back.

"Thinking about Glinda again?" an amused voice came from behind the Wolf. His ears go to the side in a blush. Is he that obvious? A white, bushy tail flicks at his nose as Malky walks in front of him. His nose twitches before he gives a loud sneeze. Malky's fur flies back from the air coming out of the Wolf's nose. The Cat starts to gag when mucus lands on his face.

"Gross! Couldn't you have sneezed away from?" Malky hisses as he licks his paw to rub it on his face. He can't believe he just got sneezed on by the Wolf. Green eyes sparkle in laughter as Silver is holding in his chuckle that wants to escape.

"It's your fault. You shouldn't have hit my nose." Silver shot back with good humor in his voice. The two get into arguments all the time but it is just between good friends. Malky gives a huff as he puts his paw down but his yellow eyes reflect the same amusement in the Wolf's eyes.

"Anyway, you can't distract me. You have to answer my question." The Cat says because he doesn't want the Wolf to evade his first question. Silver's whiskers twitch before he slowly nods his head. He knows that Malky thinks that he has feelings for the good witch but it's the farthest from the truth. The two have been bonding because the two are kindred spirits. His love has been captured by the Wizard almost four years ago. He knows because he has been counting the days the go by she is not by his side. Glinda has been trying to be discreet about it but the Wolf knows that she is attempting to find his mate in any of the Animal camps the Wizard has to hold talking animals.

"I was thinking about her." Silver confesses before he rolls her eyes at the look he is getting from the Cat. Malky thinks he can read his mind but he is far from the truth.

"Mmhmmm…" Malky leans forward to hear what his old friend has to say about Glinda. Maybe it's a confession of love for her. He thinks it is time for Silver to finally move on. The good witch is very good candidate to be with. His tail is swishing in anticipation. Silver opens his mouth to say what he really is thinking but pauses when he sees the Hawk he sent out to look out for Elphaba and Fiyero starting to make a descent towards him. This is perfect. Malky can still be in suspense for a little while longer.

"Oh look! Mail is here!" Silver exclaims as he leaps over the Cat to meet the Hawk. Malky ducks with his ears against his head. The white Cat lets out a hiss of frustration. His friend thinks he is being smart but he will get the answer sooner or later. He twists his head around and watches the Wolf greet the Hawk by a tree.

"You can't get away from me that easily!" Malky shouts towards him. Silver's ears twitch but choose to ignore his friend. It is fun to keep him in the dark just to see the frustrated look on the know it all Cat's face. Malky's fur puffs out in a huff before he slips back into the Resistance's compound. He will be patient for now.

Glinda bites her bottom lip as she is bent over a table in the War Room. Her eyes are looking over a map of Oz. She picks up a marker with her left hand, her right arm still in a sling because her collarbone and right are still healing. The stab wounds are starting to become scars, thank the gods for that. She doesn't have to worry about reopening the stitches anymore with any type of movement. Glinda gives a curse a when she uses her left hand to make a circle on the map but instead of a smooth line all the way around there are bumps and waves that jut out of the supposed circle.

"Ugh…how did Elphaba do it?" Glinda whispers to herself as she sets down the marker. The blonde is right hand dominant but since her right arm is out of commission she has to use her left hand for everything. Silver has been trying to be helpful with carrying things for her but with his paws he can only do so much. Her eyes soften in thought at how Elphaba would be helping her. The green woman would feed her, help her put on her clothes and teacher her how to write with her left hand. The blonde gives a sigh as he looks at the map to see Kiamo Ko castle with 'Elphaba' badly written above it. Her love is miles away from her who doesn't know she is alive. The blonde sits down in the chair that is behind her and rests her left elbow on the table so she rests her head on her hand. This past month has been busy for him with the recovery of her wounds and organizing strikes against the Wizard while making sure he doesn't figure out where Elphaba's hide out is. Glinda closes her eyes with a weary exhale. Her body feels exhausted and bone weary. She has never stopped doing stuff ever since she got here even when she was confined to the bed; she was dictating what has to happen next. She opens her eyes and stares at Kiamo Ko before looking towards the glowing city. Her eyes narrow in hatred for the Wizard, living high and mighty at the palace. She will not let him find where Elphaba is and bring harm on her head.

"Lunch?" a very muffled voice comes from the good witch's right side. She blinks her eyes before craning her neck to the right. She gives a giggle at what she sees. Silver is standing before her with a tray of food precariously placed on his back along with a brown, leather bag in his jaws. He is looking at her expectantly. It took him almost an hour to get to this room because he had to walk so very carefully so he didn't drop the tray. Silver's ears start to go to the side in annoyance at the lack of help from the blonde. Glinda moves the map to the side so it won't get crumpled under the tray. She grabs the middle of the tray and picks it up with a soft grunt. It gives a shake as Glinda is struggling to use her left hand. This is harder than she thought. She sticks out her tongue when the blonde slowly sets it on the table. Glinda shakes her left arm to get some of the feeling back. She hopes it gets better the more she uses her left arm. Silver gets on his hind legs and rests his front paws on the table.

"Much better." Silver says happily when he sets the bag on the table before stretching his jaws with a crack. The bag was heavy for just being filled with papers. Glinda reaches over and scratches behind his ear before reaching for the bag to see if anything significant has happened.

"Hey!" She exclaims when a massive paw goes on top of her hand and pushes it down on the table, just short of the bag. Silver looks at her with a snort. If he lets her dive into the bag to retrieve all the scrolls she won't eat anything. The blonde needs her strength.

"You need to eat first." Silver insists as he pushes the tray towards Glinda. The blonde wriggles her nose and looks at the plate that is filled with vibrant, juicy fruit along with different veggie sandwiches. Never in her years as a proclaimed carnivore did she think that she would just be eating fruits and different veggies for her meals. She won't admit it but she is actually enjoying this new diet. Glinda looks towards the Wolf and giggles at his wide, green eyes starting at her in a pleading way. He knows that she can't ignore that look at all.

"Pwease, for me?" Silver pleads in a cute voice. Glinda feels her resolve weaken at such a cute face. The blonde reaches forward to grab one of the veggies sandwiches. Silver gives a smug look afterwards and his tail swishes with a triumphant flick.

"Happy?" She mumbles through a mouth full of food. He nods his head with satisfaction. He is very happy that she finally got some of her food in her stomach. They can strategize better with a full stomach. Glinda swallows the sandwich and sets her sandwich down before reaching for the bag with Silver watching her with a snort. He won't fuss because she is eating something.

"As long as you continue to eat we can go over all the details of each scroll." Silver says as the good witch manages to pull out two scrolls out with her left hand to set them on the table. Glinda rolls her eyes slightly but she will humor him today.

"All right, Silver. If it will stop your nagging." She replies with good humor as she scratches behind his ear with friendly affection. The Wolf nudges her arm with a deep chuckle. He will never stop looking out for her even when he helps reunite Glinda with Elphaba.

"I will never stop."

The blonde just shakes her head while reaching for another sandwich just to please him. It is good to have a friend that will watch out for her and an ear to have when she needs it. Of course, the good witch would return the gesture many times over. Silver peers at the scroll while scooting closer to Glinda. The two friends look at each other and smile. It is time to get to work.

It thought that was a cute scene between the two of them. Silver is ever looking out for Glinda, making sure she is taking proper care of herself while she is busying looking out for Elphaba from very afar and making the Wizard's life hell. Someone has to do it since Elphaba isn't there to do it. Though that won't change if the green woman comes back into the picture. The next chapter is where it will start getting good. I won't say what is going to happen cause you will have to wait until next week! Until then.
