As I said yesterday, here is the next chapter for Darkness of the Night. It begins with Glinda and Elphaba, that's all I'm going to say about that part, then it will end with a discovery that will shock everybody to the core. What that is…well you will have to read and find out. Though I think some people already have a suspicion of what that might be and they could be right. Oh and about a couple weeks or more have passed since the initial Elphaba/Glinda reunion Anyways, read and enjoy!

Chapter 11

Glinda is breathing softly through her while she is sleeping in a bed. She inhales deeply when her body is telling her it is time to get up.

"Mmm…." She groans as she arches her back while she gives a big stretch. Her arms come out from underneath the sheets and blankets to rest her arms on top of the grey blanket. The good witch lazily opens her eyes with a smile. The room seems much brighter and cheerful than before. Glinda inhales slightly at feeling an arm being wrapped over her waist and a warm body being pressed up against her back.

"When did you start getting up this early?" Elphaba questions making sure she lowers her voice just to feel the blonde shiver against her. She gives a slight frown when Glinda shimmies out of her embrace and slowly sits up with her bare back facing her. She has been hoping for longer bed time with her.

"When there is much to do around here." The blonde answers as she turns her head around to see her lover lying on her side with her head propped up by her hand and the covers pooled at her waist, revealing her naked upper body to her. This look she can get use to again. Glinda gives a smile before leaning back to place a loving kiss on the waiting green lips. If Fiyero saw all of this he would be teasing the two of them endlessly about them supposed to be taking it slow. Elphaba uses her other arm and wraps it firmly around the good witch's waist to pull her closer to her body. She bites the bottom lip of her blonde lover, hoping it would entice Glinda to stay in bed with her a bit longer. The good witch inhales deeply through her nose at the intimate gesture but she reluctantly pulls away. She is sorely tempted to just crawl back in bed with the raven haired beauty and stay there for a couple more hours but stuff needs to be done.

"I want to, Elphie, but there things that I need to attend to." Glinda whispers as she caresses the green cheek with loving affection. She then sits up and turns her back on Elphaba so she can get up. Her front arches forward as a long finger goes down her spine and her eyes flutter close. Oh, that woman; she knows what to do to get her all heated. Brown eyes follow the finger finishing its course. Elphaba is enjoying watching the good witch squirm under her touch. Her eyes drift away from the spine to sees the start of one of the pink scars that rest on Glinda's right hip. Her eyes soften and her hands cover it. It is one of the many scars marring the blonde's body from the brutal attack she endured by the Gale Force. Elphaba starts to sit up with a grunt. She is just thankful to just have a second chance with her. Glinda's heart is pounding in her chest when she feels the green woman's front being pressed against her back and warm lips kissing the side of her neck in an intimate way.

"I love you, Glinda." Elphaba whispers against the skin before kissing it again. The blonde turns around and lifts the head up until she can see the full lips. Maybe she can stay in bed a little longer. Elphaba closes her eyes with a smile when Glinda leans in and kisses her. Looks like her subtle seduction won out. The raven haired beauty wraps her arms around Glinda and gently pulls her down onto the bed.

Three hours later Glinda has finally pulled herself away from the nice, warm bed occupied by her green skinned lover. She is currently digging through the dresser drawer to find clothes to put on. Elphaba is watching her from the edge of the bed with a satisfied smile on her face. It is just nice to appreciate the view before her. The pale skin still has that glistening sheen of sweat on her body from what they were just doing in the bed. It made Elphaba feel good that she can still make the blonde's body react that way. The green woman can see that Glinda's right arm and shoulder has healed without complications but she seems to favor her left arm more now. A thought pops up in her head when thinking about Glinda's recovery.

"How did you get involved in the Animal Resistance?" Elphaba questions with curiosity while putting her elbow on her thigh and rest her head on the palm of her hand. The blonde purses her lips in thought as she pulls out a short sleeve, V-neck, light blue shirt. It has to be at least ten to twelve years since she has been a part of the Animal Resistance.

"Not too long after you left when the Wizard pulled me into the political word as Glinda the Good. I found I had the power and resources to truly be of help to the Animals. It made feel closer to you when you left. That's how I managed to keep tabs on you for years." Glinda answers as she puts the shirt on her. Elphaba blinks her eyes and looks to her with curiosity. If the good witch knew where she was the entire time then why didn't she seek her out? That will be her next question to ask.

Glinda buttons up her pants before running her fingers through her hair. It's finally time to actually do some work. The green witch slides off the bed and slowly walks up behind her lover. Her long fingers rest on the swell of her hips. The blonde bites her bottom lip at the touch and closes her eyes. She is enjoying all of this. The two witches are definitely making up for lost time.

"If you knew where I was the whole time, why didn't you seek me out?" Elphaba asks as she rests her head on Glinda's shoulder. The blonde opens her eyes to give the answer but she stops when she notices a familiar green bottle among the oil bottles placed on top of the dresser drawers. An image pops into her mind. The Wizard finding her crying on the balcony overlooking the glowing, green city with her heart still in pain over the loss of her love. He dangles a green bottle in front of her and asks if she wants a drink. Saying it will help dull the pain she is feeling. It as if a light bulb has gone off in her mind.

"Glin?"

Glinda gives a jump when she hears Elphaba calling out to her. She didn't realize that she has spaced out. The blond clears her throat.

"Yes?"
Elphaba turns her fully around so she can see her lover's face. She is a tiny bit concerned when Glinda didn't respond to her. She wonders if the blonde is in pain or it has to be something else.

"Are you ok?"
The good witch looks up to her head and nods her head quickly. She just needs to start doing some research to confirm her suspicions.

"What…yeah, I'm fine, Elphie. The green bottle was your mother's right?" She asks as she points to the bottle in question. Elphaba blinks her eyes and looks towards the dresser top to eye the green bottle. Why is Glinda suddenly asking about that object? The raven haired beauty turns her gaze back towards her lover with a raised eyebrow.

"It was. Why did you want to know? I thought you already knew." She shoots back a question towards Glinda. The good witch just gives a chuckle before leaning up to kiss the confused woman. She doesn't want to bring up what she is thinking without proof. Glinda knows that her green lover will flip out if she hears this now and it's just a theory.

"Oh, I couldn't remember. You should get dressed, Elphie. I'll meet you for lunch." The blonde says rapidly before kissing her again then running out of the room, leaving Elphaba stark naked while trying to wrap her head around the situation that just happened. She is so confused she could only say in response.

"But it's supper time."

Glinda is biting her bottom lip in thought as she just lets her feet take her to the library area of the compound. Her mind is buzzing at the thought of the Wizard being Elphaba's father. That is why she needs to get all the books about the Wizard and send out her feelers to get information that isn't written in the books. She gives a squeal of surprise when she walks into something solid and stumbles backwards.

"Whoa there, where is the fire?" Fiyero asks with a smile on his face as he puts a hand on her to help steady her balance. She gives him a grateful smile while running her fingers through her golden locks, exposing a hickey on the right side of her neck. His blue eyes widen at seeing the mark then a stupid smirk appears on his face. So much for the two of them taking their relationship slow. Oh, this is too good for him to pass up. Glinda swallows at the mischievous glint in his eyes.

"Why do you have that idiotic look on your face?" The good witch asks with uncertainty because she isn't sure she wants to hear the answer to it. The Winkie prince smirk grows some more as he is tempted her some shit about her and Elphaba but it will be even sweeter to do it when the green woman is in the same room with the two of them. The future metaphoric daggers being thrown at him by Elphaba would be totally worth it.

"Nothing important. So why are you in a mad dash?" Fiyero deflects the question with a question of his own. His curiosity piques when he notices the good witch hesitates and looks away from him as she is debating on whether to tell him her suspicions. She doesn't want the knowledge of Elphaba's paternity to get it around and have Elphaba hear it from somebody else when she should tell her personally. Glinda knows she's the only one who can quell the fire that would burst the green woman if she finds out it is true.

"I...uh...just heading to the library. That's all." She answers with partial truthfulness. Fiyero has known her long enough to figure out when she isn't telling the whole truth to him. She leans back with an uneasy feeling in the pit of her stomach when he leans in closer to her with his hands on his hips. She can tell he knows that she knows something.

"Glinda, you know something and it has to do with Elphaba." Fiyero states with underlying hurt in his voice. It's clear the good witch doesn't trust him enough to keep this in confidence if need be. She can't believe how astute he is with what he just said. Is she just that readable? Glinda exhales shakily and looks him in the eyes. Somebody helping her would make all of this an easier burden on her shoulders.

"I have a hunch and it's a dosy of a one but I'm not going to say it here. There are too many ears." The blonde confesses as she starts to walk away from the Winkie prince while motioning for him to walk with her. It's best to have this conversation in the privacy of the library. Fiyero catches up to her and puts a friendly arm around her shoulder. He wonders what information Glinda will be telling him if she can't speak it freely and why it has to do with Elphaba.

I thought Elphaba and Glinda deserve a little happy moment in this chapter after all they have been through. The Wizard being Elphaba's father will be talked about in certain chapters. You will see in the upcoming chapters of this story. Chapter 12 will have Silver, Glinda, Elphaba, The Wizard and a new character being introduced. You will see what happens in the next couple of days. Until then!
