02- Midorima, Azami and Pancakes Invitational
…
At Aomine's humble abode
It was just another pleasant Saturday morning. There's nothing significant to her mind other than today's breakfast. While humming a song that is popular nowadays, Satsuki strides along.
After graduating from a culinary course, Satsuki was delighted by the fact that her cooking did 'change'. All of Aomine's complaints about her food killing him were nowhere to be found, she only received compliments from him and that made her smile.
"What's up for today?" she heard his low bedroom voice as his hands wrapped itself around her waist. His baritone voice whispered a nice good morning to her.
"Hmm, pork cutlets?" she replied, a smile brightening up her features. His head perked up, "That dish early in the morning? You sure come up prepared."
"Of course."
The people around them were expecting for the two of them to get married while they ignored that possibility and dismissed it as nothing. Not knowing that in the future, they will take that premonition seriously.
Aomine smiled in appreciation, releasing his wife and retiring to a nearby chair. His smile stretched to a bemused grin while his eyes followed her every movements. Admiring the way her slender arms work on the sizzling cutlets and he caught on the smile that resurfaced on her face. It lit up dark places in his sleepy atmosphere, cheering him up. Police work might be tiring but with his wife waiting expectantly for him when he gets home made him feel special than any other guy living in this world.
"Dai-chan?"
"Yeah?" he responded, forgetting to reprimand her for calling him by that nickname again.
"My phone's ringing, mind getting it for me?" she asked, glancing at him while tucking a stray hair on the back of her ear.
He stood up heading to the cupboard and reaching for the blinking smartphone indicating the message that it just received.
"Who is it?" Satsuki asked, casting a sidelong glance at her husband's lean figure. Aomine touched the screen revealing the name of the caller.
"It's just Midorima, don't mind him," he grumbled, placing the phone back to its place.
"Just answer it, Dai-chan. He might say something great," she replied suppressing a laugh from escaping her lips. Her husband's old habits really die hard; he can't even hold a proper conversation with the people that he avoids. Especially the giant weirdo called Midorima Shintaro who didn't change even at the age of 27.
"Yeah, he will sprout all that 'horoscope' garbage of his. It will only ruin my morning," he complained, refusing to answer the call even if it rings for the fourth time.
Satsuki shook her head and dropping the mittens, she reached for her phone. Aomine set aside, facing her grilling pan and trying to control himself from making face.
'Midorima really knows his time,' he thought, releasing a cold hearted scoff.
"REALLY?"
Judging by his wife's high pitched voice that can wake anyone sleeping around the corners of their house, Midorima said something which was probably 'sensible'.
Aomine raised an intrigued brow, wondering what the question was all about only to receive an excited hug from his wife.
"What is it?" he asked, not daring to control his curiosity.
"Midorin's getting married today!"
"Huh?"
At Akashi's humble abode
"Honey?"
"No, I would prefer the sugar."
Emi, Akashi's wife, was busy with their usual teatime, which turned to coffee because of their rushed schedule. Emi will fly to Australia in an hour to see what the new cosmetic products are while Akashi just got home from the strenuous job as the CEO of his family's company.
"Then… here goes~" Emi sang as she placed the pristine white cup of coffee in front of her husband. Akashi pleasantly smiled, taking the cup politely and giving it a sip.
"Thank you, Emi."
"Ah, Sei…"
The redhead batted an eyelash, observing his wife closely while waiting for what she has to say.
"I think, I need to cancel my flight…" His wife continued, showing him her cell phone. "…Fortunately, Azacchan is getting married tonight."
Akashi merely smiled expecting it anytime soon, his right hand settling the white cup on the table. "So Shintarou finally got his horoscope fantasies on track, huh?"
"Ah… not really. Actually, Shin-kun's horoscope just matched for luck right now… so the wedding is kinda rushed I guess."
At Kuroko's humble abode
The bluenette wrapped an arm around his wife's shoulder. She giggled and wrapped hers around his waist, her cold hand warming himself on his body.
The two of them were watching the peaceful sky both lying on the makeshift bed on their rooftop while their first-born child is on a crib, asleep in peace.
"Tetsu…" she whispered, latching her free hand with his warm one. "I love you…"
If he was a bit younger than he was now he might have ended up looking at her blankly as if she suddenly grew two heads. Nevertheless, since that and then is different from right now, he simply leaned closer and pressed his soft lips on her forehead.
"I love you too, Akari…" he said in a soft falsetto, sharing the same sentiment. Getting married to her is actually not a part of his dreams nor does he actually plan to have a child. At first, she was just there watching him from afar and now in his arms, well loved by him.
He felt his lips stretched to a pleased smile, squeezing his eyes shut enjoying the peace of the moment when—
His phone, which was resting safely on top of their heads, buzzed noisily disrupting the very peace of the moment. His wife opened her eyes quizzically, "Tetsu your phone's ringing…"
Kuroko sighed, seeing how selfless his wife was even letting their peaceful moment disrupted by the sudden call. He reached for the digital object and pressed it on his right ear.
"…Ah, Midorima-kun."
The green head on the other line ignored the flatness of the blunette's tone and almost commanding, the latter reported something that brought the former to sit up.
"Tetsu…?" his wife—Akari—sat up too, her bright raven tresses falling behind her back as she did so.
Kuroko promptly ended the call then faced her, "Midorima-kun… is getting married."
"WHOA! REALLY!"
At Kise's humble abode
"Mama! Mama! Yon-chan pinched me!" a plump six year old complained, her cheeks stained red in exasperation.
"UWAH! Don't believe her, Mama! San-chan did that to herself!" another six year old lashed out, his cheeks also stained red in annoyance.
"Come on, sweethearts. Don't fight, okay?" Miaka hummed softly, getting on her knees and patting her kids' foreheads. "Your daddy will wake up on the noise~!"
The twins quickly covered their mouths and shook their heads, evoking their vow to quick silence. Their mother laughed fooling the kids again that their father was short tempered.
"That's harsh, Miakacchi," someone said from behind following it up with a yawn. Miaka turned to her husband who looks ravishingly gorgeous even after waking up in the morning.
"Kids, don't believe your Mother on that okay?" Kise said, settling beside Miaka and ruffling their kids' heads. "It's fine for Daddy okay?"
"But Papa you're not getting enough sleep!" the boy twin exclaimed, latching his small arms on Kise's big one.
"Yon-chan's right! Papa sorry for the noise!" the girl twin remarked, latching on the opposite arm.
"… Ah, Sayaka, Youji, aren't you two sweet~" Kise smiled and planted kisses on his offspring's head. He wanted this home even though his wife sometimes ruins his reputation in public. Besides, all his efforts of trying to get her family to agree on their marriage all paid off.
He was also the lead that started the line of marriages that followed his. His former teammates all seems too envious when he became a father several years ago and often teased him for it. However, out of the five, the only person that never agreed to the idea was Midorima Shintarou.
The shooting guard seemed to be too persistent on keeping the religious pattern of having Oha-Asa announce the proper time of marriage. Kise had to stop his wife from suggesting many weird and crazy things to Azami just so Midorima would finally agree. Nevertheless, all this time, the former shooting guard still remained stoic.
"Whoa! Kise!"
"Ah?!"
Kise had to back away from his wife and hold the kids on the same distance. Miaka seemed to enthusiastic for some reason.
"AZACCHAN IS GOING TO GET MARRIED!"
Azami's apartment
"So then… Shintaro…" Azami started, her eyes drew to slits. "You look happy…"
"HAH!? DO I PROJECT THE VERY IMAGE OF HAPPINESS RIGHT NOW?!" Midorima glowered, his grip on his phone tightened that it could break anytime soon. Crimson littered his cheeks reacting out of embarrassment.
"Pfft…" She laughed, her hands gripped the edge of the table in fits of hysteria. "Aren't you masochistic?"
"Shut up, wife-to-be."
"Eh?"
This time, Azami reddened that she involuntarily swung the chair at him. Luckily, the doctor moved out of the way startled.
"W-What?"
"D-D-Don't j-j-just s-s-say w-w-weird t-t-things a-a-all o-o-of a-a-a s-sudden!"
"Azami, you do realize that we're getting married at exactly three in the afternoon, right? I love you but you seemed to be out of it sometimes."
She swung the chair once again that the doctor practically jumped out of the way now.
"I-I-I…" she swallowed hard, blushing more.
