Early the next morning at the Rehab Center the doctor who will be in charge of his care came into Luke's room .
" Well Good Mornin' Luke my name is Dr. Macdonald how are you this fine morning?".
Luke just gave Dr. Macdonald a blank stare and didn't really know how to respond so he just smiled.
then the doctor just wrote down somethings on Luke's chart before he talked to Luke some more.
" Well you sure have a nice smile but don't worry we will take very good care of you here".
Meanwhile as Jesse and Bo arrived this morning at the Kessler Rehab Center they couldn't help but notice how well the people who are in charge of took great pride in preventing the place from looking like a nursing home it looked so warm , open their was even a fire place in the main lobby and some of the guests was even roasting marshmellows , the walls were a nice rose color .
" Hello my name is Megan I'll be Luke's nurse while he is here I bet y'all are anxious to see him". said Megan
" Nice to meet you Megan my name is Bo I'm Luke's cousin you sure is pretty as a picture"!". said Bo
Megan couldn't help but blush some at Bo's comment and she silently chuckled some too".
" Excuse me Megan but can we see Luke now ?". asked Jesse
" Well unfortunately y'all will have to wait awhile on account of he is actually in speech therapy at the moment once he is done y'all can okay ". assured Megan
Meanwhile Luke and his speech theraphist Jeff was going over some words and Jeff couldn't help but notice that Luke was having a little trouble.
" Okay Luke c'mon you can do it say APPle". asked Jeff
" A...PP , AP... APPL ... A..". said Luke
" No Luke say APPLE ". said JEff
" APP... APP AHH AHHH ". said Luke
" Okay Luke try saying the word Ball can you say Ball ?". asked Jeff
" Ba ... Ba Ba... LL .. Ba.. LL Ba.. ". said Luke
" Okay Luke what you say we take a break from spelling for awhile and work on some of your motor skills okay ". said Jeff
So Jeff walked on over to the shelf were they kept all the toys for motor skils and he picked up a tub of blocks.
Okay Luke I want you to stack these blocks in shape and size okay now try doing that ". told Jeff
As Luke was doing that Jeff was taking notes to report back to Dr. Macdonald who was in charge of Luke's care.
Jeff couldn't help but notice that Luke was starting to get frustrated an he was also starting to get sleepy.
" Okay I think someone needs a nap how about we take a break for now and finish up later this afternoon ". said Jeff
Unfortunately as Luke was being placed back into the wheelchair he began throwing a fit he didn't want a nap and unfortunately Jeff had to sedate Luke to get him into the chair And so as Jeff wheeled Luke back to his room you coudn't hear a peep out of him because he was fast asleep from the medication once he arrived at his room he , a nurse put Luke onto his bed.
Meanwhile back out in the lobby Bo , Jesse was still waiting to see Luke and so finally around 10:30 Megan told them they could go see him and they could stay as long as they wanted. So Bo, Jesse followed Megan down a long hallway as they walked they couldn't help but notice on the walls some pictures of Angles which made Jesse feel maybe this was the best place for Luke.
About 15 minutes later they arrived at room 115 as Megan slowly opened the door Jesse took in the room he noticed the room was beautiful shade of blue everything else in the room remained white
except for the dark brown hair that was sticking up underneath the bandage that was on Luke's forehead and he just looked so peaceful Jesse didn't have the heart to wake him up".
" My poor boy I sure wish this didn't happen to you ". said Jesse As he sat in the chair beside Luke's bed he couldn't help but feel his heart was breaking at the site of Luke's condition.
A few minutes later Lukes' eyes opened and he looked around the room and he couldn't help but notice two people staring back at him and unfortunately he didn't know who these people is .
" Hey Luke it's me Bo your cousin I sure miss you cousin wish you would come back to me ".It ain't the same riding in the General all myself"! said Bo
unfortunately once again Luke didn't respond back to Jesse and Bo and it left them feeling lower then a snake's belly in a wagon rut ".
Luckily Luke's doctor happened to come into the room a few minutes later and Jesse couldn't help but notice that he was holding a folder he assumed was Luke's.
" Hello Mr. Duke my name is Dr. Macdonald I'll be Luke's doctor while he is here is their any questions you may have ?". asked Dr. Macdonald
" Yes their are I would like to know how long it is gonna take for Luke to recover and come back home with his family ?".asked Jesse
The doctor took a deep breath and sighed before he answered Jesse's question he could tell that Jesse was very frustrated.
" Mr Duke you are gonna have to understand that Luke's recovery is gonna take time a brain injury is a very slow recovery process ". said Dr. Macdonald
" But I want to know how long it's gonna take Luke will stand a far better chance recovering around family then with a bunch of people who don't know him". said Jesse
" Uh.. Mr. Duke you have to realize that with the condition that Luke is in now he ain't gonna be able to function like he usually does he is gonna have to relearn everything " Look I know what a frustrating process this is for the family of the injured person but Luke is in the best of care here he will recover alot better here then at home". said Doc
" He's gonna have to relearn everything from eating , walking , talking , dressing himself , bathing himself, and unfortunately for the time he'll have to wear diapers".
" Well just as long as y'all can bring us Luke back we will be much obliged to y'all and I really want him back ". said Jesse
" Yes we know that it can be very trying for the family and not to mention heartbreaking but Luke will recover in time ". reassured doc
Meanwhile over at the Boars Nest Daisy was just making her normal rounds of beer when she couldn't help but overhear a conversation ".
" Hey you know I can't believe that dummy sheriff ain't figured out yet that we is the one's that caused that hit and run with that dukeboy ". said Russell
" You wanna keep it down I don't want to get arrested again buddy okay you peabrain .". said Parker
" I still can't believe that we have managed to get away with it he'll never arrest us so don't worry". said Russell
Unfortunately the boys luck was about to change on account of Enos was looking over the wanted posters at CITY HALL heard a APB come over the radio
" THis Is Atlanta State Police we just wanted to let the Hazzard Police know to be on the lookout for two dangerous guys who committed a hit and run named Russell McBride and Parker Simms".
Enos coudn't help but feel the little wheels in his head to start turning he knew he had heard that name before you knew it he was hightailing it out of there to arrest them two hoodlums.
Meanwhile back over at the rehab center Bo was visting with Luke in his room still and he couldn't help but feel that half of his heart was missing .
" Dangnit Luke I sure hate myself for letting this happen to ya I hope you know I didn't mean what I said about you not coming back ". explained Bo
" I just wish you would come back to me I really miss ya alot the farm it ain't been the same without you and we really need you back Luke ". said Bo
as Bo spoke he couldn't help but pray that Enos or Rosco would catch the guys that put Luke in this mess and maybe then the family could finally be whole again.
