Sorry for the late update, this weekend I had ENEM (it's a nation exam that happens Saturday and Sunday and it's very important since it helps you enter the university). It was 90 questions each day and on Sunday I also had to write a text about the theme that they gave us, so I was mentally tired. Sorry :)

Katherine Beckett (KBPOV)

With my overnight bag and all my stuff to get ready at 6pm I knocked at the door of the Castles' apartment.

"Hey Kate" Alexis greeted me at the door. "Are you excited?" She said opening it.

"Yes, but I am more nervous than excited." I said entering in the house.

"No need to be nervous, I am sure you will be amazing!"

"Well, thank you. Where do I put my stuff?" I asked.

"My room, I want to help you get ready." She said indicating for me to follow her towards her room.

"But you opinion is damaged since you already like me! The last time I went at stuff like that I was engaged to Peter, and now here I am, a few months later, going as the girlfriend of their favorite author!" I said putting my stuff at Alexis' bed.

"You are a kickass lawyer; these guys will be your appetizer."

"Alexis, you are such a sweet girl." I said smiling at her and bringing her towards me for a hug. "Where is your father?"

"He said that he had some last errands to do and he will be here soon."

"Okay then, we have to start getting ready."

At 7:50 I was ready, when I walked down the stairs Castle was already there waiting for me.

"Wow Kate, you are so beautiful." He said taking my hand and kissing it.

"Thank you Richard, you are looking very good too." I said walking closer to him. "I wished I could kiss you right now but I can't, my makeup is too perfect for it." I whispered in his ear.

"I wished I could kiss you too, but don't worry. When we get back here we are going to do a lot of kissing and others stuff." He whispered back.

"Well Castle, now I am almost temped not to go. But I wouldn't want to waste all the hard work that Alexis and I had to make me this pretty."

"Neither would I waste the opportunity to show for New York that you are mine."

"About that… some of these people knew me as the woman engaged to Peter, so probably will have some embarrassing moments… I think." I said shyly.

"Hey, don't worry Kate. I know that this would happen. No need to worry my love." He said squeezing my hands.

"Okay then, now that you talked about the only thing that was making me uneasy. Let's get this party started!" I said pushing Castle by his hands towards the door. "Alexis don't forget to put my overnight bag on your father's room, please? I forgot." I said to Alexis that was in the kitchen.

"Sure Kate, don't worry." She answered.

"Thank you, have a good night."

"You have a good one too, don't worry about the others, and just enjoy the party."

"Pumpkin you have class tomorrow, don't stay up late." Castle said when we reached the door.

"I won't dad, you know me."

"Yeah, I know you but what kind of dad I would be if I didn't say it anyway?"

"Goodnight dad, I hope you enjoy you party too."

"Don't worry, I will." Castle said wicking at me and closing the door.

When we got outside the town car was already waiting for us and a few minutes after we entered the car, we were already at the party.

"Wow, it is really close to your house." I said remembering our talk from Monday.

"I said it; now get ready that the paparazzi will get crazy." He said taking my hands and smiling at me.

"I was born ready." I said smiling back at him.

When we opened the door, I almost went blind because of how many flashes were being shot at us. Even after I have been through that a few times with Peter I wasn't used to. Castle took me firmly by my waist and guided me for the center of the red carpet. When we reached the area that was dedicated to photos and interviews.

The first interview we, Castle, gave was for some woman that appeared to know Castle from others parties.

"Hi Castle." She said to the microphone and after put it near Castle's mouth.

"Hey Jeannie, this is my girlfriend Katherine Beckett." He said looking at me and smiling.

"Hi Jeannie, nice to meet you." I said giving her a warm smile.

"Hi Katherine, nice to meet you too. So Castle, are you saying that sadly you aren't the 11th most eligible bachelor anymore?"

"I am very happy to say that I am officially off the market. I am in love with Kate, so my time of partying is definitely over." Castle said making me blush.

"Wow that is so cute. I wish all the lucky in the world for both of you." She said and we walked towards the next one. The next one was Lauren, I had previously gave her interviews with Peter, so one of my fears was coming to light.

"Hello Katherine, Castle." She said when we reached her.

"Hi Lauren, how are you?" We said together.

"I am great, thank you. And how are you?"

"I am great" I answered and Castle said right after me. "I am fine."

"I am glad. So Katherine, the last time we met you were engaged to Peter Krauchisk, what did happen?" She said almost giving me an evil smile.

"Well Lauren, Peter and I came to the conclusion that we didn't want the same things, and were better to end everything now than after we got married. I wish him the best but we both have to move on." I said smiling.

"How did you guys meet?" She continued.

"We met at a coffee shop near my work." I said omitting the fact that we met before I broke up my engaged, since it could create a lot of wrong ideas about what really happened.

"We have to go, sorry Lauren." Castle said taking me by my hand and walking to another interviewer.

After a few more interviews, we stopped for some pictures and entered the place where the party was happening. The decoration was beautiful, everything in soft colors giving an idea of a heavenly place.

After we entered, Castle and I started walking around and greeting the people that knew one of us or, rarely, both of us. After talking a few minutes with some people, Castle asked me if I wanted to dance.

"Of course Castle, I would love too."

In the dance floor we lost ourselves at each other, the slow song appeared to be from some kind of version of some song from Frank Sinatra. We were so wrapped around ourselves that we didn't notice Peter walking toward us.

"Hi, could I have a dance with my ex-fiancé?" Some voice said dragging Castle and I back to the reality. Castle looked at him like he was going to kill someone, probably Peter, and before Castle could say something and make things worst I jumped in.

"Peter, I don't think it's a wise decision."

"Why Kate you think that? I thought we separated in an amicable way?"

"Yes, of course we did but Peter, let's not go there. Have a good night." I said taking Castle's hand and taking a step back to turn around.

"Why did you do that to me Kate? I still love you." He said taking a step closer.

"Peter, I am sorry that you love me, I really am. I haven't loved you in a long time and I am sorry about it too, but you have to let me go."

"How can I let you go? When I think I am ready to move on, you come to a public event as the date of the guy that was the cause of the end of our engagement."

"Peter, we both know that wasn't Castle the cause of it. It was life, it was our different objectives in life, it was our personality that didn't match, and it was me who doesn't know how to love right. So, please move on, I have and I am sorry to say that I am glad that I did, I realized that I couldn't make you happy. I wish you the best, we will meet at more events like this and I hope we can be cordial to each other. Have a good night." I said and walked way pushing Castle with my hands. After I had walked a safe distance that I considered safe, I let out a deep breath.

"I was ready but I wasn't ready for this." I said smiling sadly at Castle. "Like I knew that we were going to meet him here but I thought he was going to stay away. I am sorry."

"Hey, hey, baby, no need to be sorry. I love you and I knew that this was going to happen." He said taking my face between his hands.

"Thank you." I said and kissed his lips; soon our kiss started to get more heated and I used all my strength to take a step back. "We can't start here what we can't finish here."

"Who said we can't finish it here?" Castle said with a wicked smile and kissed me back.

"Well, next time I will use a shorter dress or easier one to open because this one is very difficult; so we can't do quickly somewhere. Okay?"

"Okay." Castle said with an impatient voice. "Let's mingle a little more so we can go home and start and finish many time as we want."

"I agree with your plan."

First I want to apologize because I changed Peter last name, I didn't remember the one that I gave him and I couldn't find it, the only thing I remembered was that it started with the letter K, so I kept it.

Also, I received a lot of guest reviews and I want to thank you guys, it was really great see you guys saying what you think about the story, I always answered the reviews so, I will comment some that raised interesting points:

For the guest reviewer that said that the story was to dark; I know it is different from the stories we have on the site, and that was the idea. I like dark things and I love to write dark things, but as you can see, things are getting better.

For the guest reviewer that I made Kate a bitch; I indeed made a different Kate but I was tired of reading about the good Kate, tragically thing happened and she could have gone the other way. In the face of tragedy people can change a lot, for better or worst. And at the same review you/he said about the cheating at the beginning of her relationship with Peter, Kate was a selfish person that was trying to change, at the same time that she wanted to be a "normal" person and have a nice relationship with Peter, she was also the selfish girl with wrong habits.
