Katherine Beckett (KBPOV)

My day couldn't go slower; it appeared that until three o'clock instead of passing seven hours, it was fourteen. During the time I was in the office, a few people passed through it and looked inside to get a look at me; it was almost funny seeing these people coming towards my office and trying to look at it in an unsuspicious way, but failing miserable. Most of them couldn't pretend that they were doing another thing, so, I saw right through them. It would be funny if I wasn't so annoyed with it.

In the middle of the morning Patricia came to my office to inform me that a few blogs and magazines were calling trying to schedule a interview of some kind, I asked her to ignore them since I didn't have anything to be interviewed for, I only was the date of Castle in a fundraiser; photos I could almost understand why they would want but interviews were way out of line.

When I started walking out of the office, going to pick up Alexis and meet Castle a few people said hi to me, like it was something that they had been doing since they started working there. When I got into my town car I started laughing with myself and remembered a quote that I highlighted in one of my books:

"People?" as though she'd never of such a thing. "They're like dolls. Plastic, shiny and fake."

"Like if you took their batteries," Kit said "they'd fall over."

And indeed we were and are, everything we do for a reason, we measure our happiness on how much we have on the bank or how much we get in the end of the month; and we became friends with people that somehow we will gain something from. I confess, I was one of these people at that time, but I was starting to change, and of course, not ever body was and is like that.

Putting aside all of these people that didn't deserve my time, I went to pick up Alexis and stopped at a bakery to buy something for us to eat later. While we were in the car I asked Alexis if she would mind if we stopped at my apartment, since she didn't, we went for my apartment and I was happy to see that we didn't find any paparazzi; I was glad that finally I was old news. We went up to my apartment and I picked some stuff up to spend another night on Castle's loft, I took enough to spend two more nights since I wanted to sleep on my own bed on Sunday.

When I arrived at the loft, Castle was very concentrated on something that he was writing, so I decide not to bother him and I went to study on some cases that I had going on. Two hours later when Castle took a break, he discovered that I had arrived from work.

"Hey Kate, I didn't know you arrived from work." He said kissing my forehead and going to the kitchen.

"Well, you were really concentrated on whatever is that you are writing so I though leave you alone so you could find me when you finished it." I said getting up and following him towards the kitchen. "Can we have the talk now? Or you didn't finish whatever is that you are writing?"

"I didn't finish it, but we can talk. Still on the subject of my writing I have something that I want to tell you. Let's go to my room." He said taking my hands and leading me towards the room.

We both sat in the middle of the bed, and he looked around appearing to be trying to get the courage to say whatever was that he was going to say.

"Kate, when I met you I was with writer's block and I couldn't write anything. I would spend the days sat on my desk looking at my computer and to the letters and nothing would come up into my mind until… I met you."

"Okay…" I said not really understanding where he was going with that conversation.

"So… I started to write a book based on you. And, at first it wasn't my intention, because we were just starting to get to know each other but I couldn't help myself. So, I started writing it. I am almost finishing it and when I finish it, I would like you to read and see if you wouldn't mind if it was published."

"Wait a minute, are you saying that you wrote a book based on me?" I said with a calmer voice than I really felt inside.

"Yes."

"How much is based it on me?"

"Not a lot, a little details that I learned during the time we know each other and…. The leading character it's a criminal lawyer, who the mother was murdered."

"Did you at any moment mentioned that I cut myself? And how was the mother murdered?"

"No, I didn't mention that the leading character cut herself." He said very serious. "And the mother was murdered in a hit and run where the driver walked free because of a loop on the law."

"Okay, so, the way they died was different, and you didn't mention my habit. Does the leading character have a fiancé or a boyfriend that remember Peter in any way?"

"No, she doesn't."

"Okay then… I think I am fine with it. It has a little detail of my personality but nothing too personal to be out in the public. When you finish it I want to read, to see if it doesn't have anything that I don't want the public to know."

"Okay, thank you so much Kate, I was really worried that you wouldn't want me to publish it." He said with a silly smile, like I just gave him a very good present.

"Well Castle, it's your work and nothing offended me, why would I say you can't publish it? I am bitch, but not that much!" I said laughing.

"You are a very private person; I was worried that you would get mad."

"Like I said, since nothing too personal is being revealed, I am fine." I said smiling.

"Now that this problem is solved, let's talk about yesterday, okay?" Castle asked taking my hands between his and squeezing.

"Okay…" I said unsure if I really wanted to have that conversation.

"I will make some questions and if you are not ready to answer or don't want to, you tell me. I don't want to make you feel uncomfortable. And like I said, I am here, I won't judge you, I want us to have a future together so… you can open yourself to me, I won't hurt you." He said putting one of his hands on my cheek, bringing my face near his and giving me a sweet kiss on the lips. "Are you ready?" He said when he finished kissing me.

"I am ready." I said giving him a small smile and feeling very anxious of what he was going to ask.

The quote is from Slice of cherry, Dia Reeves. I am really sorry that I didn't post this weekend, but I was again doing tests to enter the university. On December I will be on vacation, and I post a few times a week to finish this story, I don't want it to pass from January.

Since they talked about his book this chapter I will let they talk about Kate's dad next chapter. Since it's a holiday here this Friday, I am sure that I will be posting a chapter on the weekend, don't worry :)

If you can, please review :)
