Epilogue

Richard Castle (RCPOV)

5 years later...

"Alexis, are you sure?" I asked my daughter who was extremely decided that she wanted to move to Europe to continue her studies on Oxford.

"Yes dad, I am sure!"

"But baby, you are my baby" I said.

"Castle, let the girl live. She is a responsible adult, I am sure she will be fine; also, we can visit her almost every month!" Kate said hugging my waist.

"Yes dad, Kate is right, as always." Alexis said. "And Dad, this is my dream! I will call every day, you can call me, we can Skype, and everything will be fine."

"I will miss you Alexis, call us when you land." Kate said giving a kiss on Alexis' check and hugging her.

"I will miss you too Kate." Alexis said.

A few months after Kate said for the first time that she loved me, she moved in with us and it made Kate and Alexis extremely close, they became best friends, Kate was there for the first time Alexis had her heart broken, for her prom and was there for her in general, it is not necessary to say that it made me extremely happy.

"If you have any kind of problem call me immediately and I will drop everything that I am doing and fly to London. And if you need money, also call me immediately, I will send you." Kate said hugging Alexis one more time. "Also, don't forget that I love you very much."

"I love you very much too Kate."

"Okay ladies, now it is my turn of saying goodbye." I said taking a step forward while Kate took a step back.

"I love you very much pumpkin and I am going to miss you very much, okay?" I said giving her a tightly hug.

"Okay dad, I am going to miss you too, very much." She said hugging me back.

"Don't forget to behave, always do your best and call me every day, please? Your old man can't spend a day without talking to you."

"You are not old dad, but don't worry, I will always call you." She said giving me a kiss. "My flight is boarding, I have to go dad." She said since I haven't let her go of our hug yet.

"Of course, have a good flight." I said waving at her when she started walking towards the gate.

When she disappeared inside the gate, the tears started threatening to fall, I tried to hold them inside but I couldn't do it. Kate saw my pain and hugged me tightly making my head rest on her shoulders.

"Hey Castle, don't worry, she will be fine."

"I know that is going to be fine, I am not sure if I am going to be fine." I said into her neck.

"You are going to be fine, you can visit her every month and I can go every two months or something like that. Let's go home now." She said.

Shortly after we left the airport we arrived at our loft, we moved out of my loft after two years of Kate living with us since the last one was my loft and the new one was bigger and it was our loft and Kate had her own office; we went straight to bed and less than ten minutes Kate and I were asleep.

The next day, Kate and I were having breakfast when I tried to approach once again the only subject that we couldn't agree.

"Kate, have you thought about marriage again?" I asked.

"Like I said the last time Castle, I don't want to get married."

"But Kate, it is a symbol of our eternal love."

"So, you love forever the last to women that you married?" She asked looking at me with one of her eyebrows raised.

"No, that was different."

"Castle, I am tired of this discussion, if you want so much to get married, we can travel to Vegas and marry there, it will quickly and nothing too fancy and then we can go some amazing place to spend our honey moon."She said taking a sip of her coffee, like she was talking of a weekend shopping.

"I can't understand why you don't want to get married! It is so frustrating!" I said.

"Castle, I don't want to do that entire novel involved in getting married, it is tiring and it is not necessary. We don't even have people close to us to fill a party of 50! Everybody in our big wedding party would be people that we don't really well, won't be people that matters. I don't want to give free food to these stupid people."

"Okay I got your point. Do you really want to marry in Vegas then?" I asked trying not to show my excitement.

"Yeah Castle, marriage means so much to you and we have been together long enough... but, we have to talk to Alexis first, I don't want her to feel left out since she just left." Kate said taking a bit of her pancake.

"You are right, of course. Let's plan the trips, look when you can take time off at the office, on the honey moon let's make a stop on London to see her and then we can whatever where we plan to go."

"Perfect, since you finished your last book and you have a one year gap between the next one, you plan everything while I organize stuff at work, buy the dress, and contact Lanie to be our witness."

"Perfect, I can't wait." I said giving her lips a peck.

"Castle, I love you. All I want is to make you happy, if marring me would make you happy, then so be it." She said kissing me back.

5 months later…

We stood in front of an Elvis chapel with everything we needed in hand; Kate was wearing a sexy white dress, with a sexy pair of high heels while I was in a white suit, if the bride has to marry in white so has the groom Kate said a few months ago, Lanie was our witnessed and she brought with her husband Esposito, they had married a couple years back.

The ceremony was done quickly, like Kate asked me to, and after we partied at our hotel and in the next morning we caught the plane and went to visit Alexis, who was now dating a British boy that I had yet to meet.

4 years later…

Today I gave my baby girl to her husband; I did my best to not cry in front of everybody but sometimes I couldn't keep the tears inside, the British guy she met four years ago, became her husband, they decided to live in London for my extremely despair since my life and Kate's life was in New York, but that is okay, at least my grandchildren will have an extremely cute accent.

18 years later…

My older grandchild is now old enough to travel alone and is coming to visit Kate and me in New York for the first time all alone, she was so excited when I talked to her yesterday, that Kate started laughing at me because I got too emotional. When Laura was born, Kate and Alexis talked and decided that her children should call Kate grandmother since she would be a very constant presence in their life and she deserved a title, Meredith a long time ago had accepted that Kate wasn't going to go way so, she didn't really mind, she didn't even wanted to be called grandmother and Kate really embraced her role in the life of Alexis' children, I was amazed to see how much Kate had changed with the years, when we met to now, and I am glad to say that I was there to watch her become this nice and warm woman but yet, bad ass that I love so much.

A/N: I hope you guys liked, I really wanted to show that they would be together many years after my story ended and I wanted to show that Alexis would be fine too :)
