Lukas relished in the rare silence permeating the Scandinavian residence as he sat comfortably on the couch. He had a thick comforter wrapped around him as he read the tome perched on his lap.

It was indeed rare to have the house so quiet. Berwald took Tino out for dinner, Emil went over to Kaoru's house, Peter was left at Arthur's house for Christmas and the stupid Dane was held back at work for who knows how long. That left Lukas home alone.

He sighed in content as he glanced around the living room, the soft popping of the burning wood in the fireplace made it warm and relaxing. Turning his attention back to his tome, Lukas continued his readings. Before he knew it, he had fallen asleep on the couch with the tome balancing precariously on his lap.

Nearing one in the morning, Matthias finally arrived home. He closed the door softly, expecting the inhabitants of the home to be asleep. Before he returned home from his long day of work, he had stopped by a jeweler to pick up his present he picked for Lukas. It was a small delicately wrapped box that sat securely in his coat pocket.

Moving into the living room as he took off his coat, his vision caught sight of the sleeping Norwegian on the couch. Matthias blinked before smiling warmly at the sleeping blonde wrapped in a comforter. He gently picked up the book slipping from the blonde's lap and closed it silently, placing it on the coffee table. Matthias then moved to brush a few stray hairs from the Norwegian's face before placing a soft kiss on his forehead and leaving the small box atop Lukas's book, knowing it would be one of the first things the Norwegian would look for.

Standing upright, Matthias turned to head upstairs for a hot shower and sleep in his inviting bed.

Lukas awoke slowly, the light was sparse since it was still early in the morning. Sitting up, he slowly surveyed his surroundings and looked for his book that was previously on his lap. When his eyes landed on his book, they were drawn to a smaller neatly wrapped box on top of it.

Curiously, Lukas reached out to retrieve the box and read the familiar scribble 'From Matthias'

A faint smile made its way to his face as he headed upstairs to Matthias's bedroom. Quietly, he opened the door to his bedroom to see the sleeping Dane. He walked silently to the bedside and looked at the Dane with a soft expression before leaning down to place a gentle kiss on his temple.

"Thank you," He ghost whispered against the Dane's ear before pulling away.

With a small smile, Lukas made his way to his bedroom with his new gift in hand. Little did he know, a certain Dane smiled with him as he left to his own room.
