Hey guys! Loved the feedback!
So here's chapter 2: Snow Crystals in the Hair
Kim walked into school with her bag draped over her arm. Only a few days of school left and she was free. Finally, she needed a break from school. A whole week to relax and have fun. No worries and no issues. She went to her locker and exchanged her stuff. She then closed her locker and jumped. Jack was standing right behind the closed locker door.
"Hey Kim." He gave a smirk as she glared at him.
"What the heck Jack! What was that?" She slapped his arm. Unfortunately she ended up with the sore body part. Dang his muscular arms.
"Oh, I just love that delightful look on your face when you're mad at me. Not to mention that your squinted eye look is definitely improving." Jack cheekily smiled as he pointed towards her barely opened eyes.
"Don't ruin my mood, Jack. Only one week left until break! Then a full week away from the torture teachers like to call school."
"Alright, fine. And I totally second that. Not only does the break get me away from the work, I get to stay away from all the creepy teachers at our school. Anyone would jump at the chance for that."
Kim nodded her head then gave Jack a wave as she dashed down the hall.
"Wait, Kim! You're in the same class as me!"
-Lunch-
Kim decided that she was gonna stay away from the icky food in the lunchroom today. She dropped all her unneeded books off at her locker than started towards her favorite spot in the school: the library. Now don't go thinking she's some nerd, she isn't. One day her and Jack had been messing around on the second floor of the library (they were supposed to do a project, but honestly, did you expect them of all people to get the work done there?). So Jack accidentally pushed Kim into a bookcase, but her hip hit something metal.
This happened to be a handle for a door hidden behind the bookcase. They shifted the bookcase enough for them to open the door which led them to an abandoned classroom. Outside the classroom window had the best view in the school: straight over the trees, right to the ocean. They cleaned out the classroom and added a beanbag or two. It became their private little escape in the school. Whenever they felt like ditching class, or their friends during study hall they'd go to this room. Somehow Jack even got some decorations up to help the room match the holidays.
So Kim slipped into the room and settled on a bag. She pulled an apple from her bag and took out her phone. She texted Jack asking him to meet her there. As she was waiting for her best friend she looked out the window, only to discover little flakes floating down from the sky. Since the stuffy room was hot, she decided to open one of the windows. She leaned her head out the window attempting to catch one of the flakes on her tongue.
Jack had gotten his lunch and moved to the table where the guys were. He noticed that Kim wasn't there and figure she was off doing something else in the school. He poked his fork at the food on his tray and it only jiggled in response. Jack gagged. If the food jiggled, it definitely wasn't the meat the lunch ladies claimed that it was.
The guys were arguing again, just like every other day. This time Jerry was insisting that unicorns were real. Milton was telling Jerry that it wasn't possible, not even if rhinos and horses bred together. Jack then received Kim's text.
Hey Jack! Meet me in the usual spot :)
Jack obviously understood this and was glad to ditch his disgusting lunch.
"Gotta bounce, guys. Sorry." The guys barely noticed, still arguing about the unicorns. Jack shook his head and dashed out the cafeteria doors.
He then remembered the bet he had with Jerry. Maybe he could make some moves on Kim in the classroom. They would be all alone. No interruptions. Even if nothing big happened, any progress would be better than nothing. He then dashed through the library doors, only to get scolded by the librarian for running in the library. He sent a quick apology before making his way up the stairs. He checked to see if the coast was clear before entering the room.
As he walked in he was met by Kim's back, as she was still leaning out the window. Reminding himself not to stare at her butt he walked over to her and gently touching her back, rubbing it as he too, gazed out the window.
After about a minute the two pulled back and Jack noticed a bunch of little snowflakes caught in Kim's hair. They seemed to glisten in the light from the dim sky. He ran his fingers through her hair as the the flakes melted onto his fingers.
Kim stood still, watching Jack, as he moved his hand through her hair. Her heart head was swimming as her crush caressed her hair so gentle-like. She still told herself to remain strong, simply because of the bet with Milton. Dang that stupid bet. She eventually reached up and removed Jack's hand from her hair, giving him a small, sweet smile squeezing his fingers for a moment, before releasing his hand. They stood there and stared at each other for a simple moment.
The warning bell rang, jolting them from their "staring contest." They both picked up their bags and made their way out of the room, carefully concealing it again, before heading off to class.
-After School-
The rest of the day went fast and all the teens gathered at the dojo once again. They all picked up where they left off, except this time Jack and Kim were sparring. This was always an issue for Jack because he knew Kim could take care of herself, but being ranked higher than Kim, he worried about accidentally hurting her during a fight.
Eventually practice ended and the gang headed to Falafel Phil's. Time passed and Milton went home to continue some work on an experiment of his. Jerry eventually left because his mama wanted him home early because family was coming over. Before leaving, he bumped Jack's shoulder and moved his eyes back and forth from Jack to Kim. He then left the two black belts alone.
"Want me to walk you home?" Jack asked Kim as he got up and threw their trash away.
"Sure. Some company couldn't hurt."
The best friends headed down the pavement, lit dimly by streetlights. The snow was still falling lightly, dusting the inch of snow already on the ground. The snow once again got caught in Kim's hair. Jack noticed and nudged Kim, before looking at her hair.
"The snow makes your hair glisten more than it usually does." Kim blushed and tucked a piece behind her ear.
"Well it appears to be messing up your do." Kim had quickly recovered before adding a remark of her own. Jack shook his hair out, before picking up some snow and flinging it at Kim. She gasped, grabbed some snow herself and formed it into a ball. Then she aimed her throw at Jack's neck, releasing the snow down into his shirt.
He jumped at the cold and chased Kim down the street. Jack then caught up to her and picked her up, spinning her around for a minute. He put her down and the black belts discovered that they had reached their homes. They said a quick goodbye before parting and walking into their houses.
So a little longer. I hope you like it, be ready for more. And thanks so much for the wonderful reviews! Please keep doing it! See ya for now.
