Alarm Clock

It wasn't that Jill disliked her best friend's daughter. It wasn't even that she hadn't agreed to take rooms with her (although she hadn't had that much choice, considering the Count's desperate plea). But she really disliked being woken at half past six in the morning by Kanan and Shuko screaming at each other.

Pushing open the door to Honlon's room, she stomped inside and started to scream too. "Hey, can someone get at least some sleep in here?! Some people are tired, you know!"

Junrei came over and let Jill pet her tear-streaked cheek while her two sisters turned to the wall and refused to answer. The human woman sighed and threaded a hand through her hair. "You know," she said, sounding amused and tired at the same time, "sometimes I wish you two'd do like your fathers did and hook up, too. Then at least Junrei would be entertained instead of frightened."
