['[I sat on a barrel waiting for the announcement to come on. The Hephaestus and Athena cabins had managed to put together the biggest set of bleachers I'd ever seen in my entire life. They were full and getting fuller as campers and creatures alike packed the stands. Brian and Wisteria stood at my side while Annabeth and Grover stood at Percy's. Both parties had spent the entire day figuring out how to beat the other. Measuring their strengths and gauging their weaknesses.

Percy had two major advantages over me. One was his amount of experience. He had been fighting monsters for over a year, whereas I had been fighting for about a week. His second advantage that I wouldn't have even realized was without Wisteria pointing it out was Annabeth. She was the leader of the Athena cabin and it was often said that she would one day be right on up there with people like Odysseus and Daedalus. People don't just throw words like those around for show, especially here. With her on his side, there wasn't much hope. It would be a simple task for her to deduce what my weaknesses would be and then exploit them. Percy was tough enough on his own. With Annabeth telling him what to do, he was unstoppable. My future wasn't looking too bright.

Of course, once we realized that we began to work even harder to finding a way to beat him.

The stands had reached capacity but people were still trickling in. All sorts of people and creatures had come to watch. And with the Stoll brothers announcing it was sure to be quite the show. As an added bonus, things only got crazier when a few special guests arrived.

Hephaestus and Athena cabins had installed two special seating areas specifically for the major and minor gods. This was done mostly out of respect and so that Dionysus would have a place to sit and watch. We weren't, however, expecting anyone else to sit there though. But sure enough the seats began to fill like all the others. A few we expected and a few weren't. My mother came of course, along with Percy's dad. The two kept giving each other looks. You know the kind parents give when they're like my-kids-better-than-yours. Athena also showed up, probably because she knew that Percy was going to be using a bunch of strategies Annabeth had mentioned. Of course there were also unexpected faces. Ares showed up, and of course where he goes so goes Aphrodite, and where she goes so goes Hephaestus.

I was glad to see that Zeus hadn't shown up, but more than a little disappointed to find that Hades hadn't arrived. Although he didn't have a reason to show up and, according to Percy, he wasn't exactly on good terms with the rest of the gods, I was still a little disappointed. I really wanted to see what he looked like.

"Well, well." said a voice behind me. Wisteria, Brian, and I looked back. Behind us was a woman who looked like she was better dressed for a casino than a duel between demigods. She had long, curly brown hair and wore a long sleeved white shirt with the sleeves rolled up to her elbows. Over top of that was a tight black vest that fit her bust perfectly and a watch on her right hand where all the numbers had been replaced as seven. She wore typical brown shoes and a pair of tight khakis held up by an unnecessary belt with a horseshoe buckle. A poker cap sat slightly crooked on her head with five cards sticking out the side.

"It looks like Athena is using Annabeth to interfere in this little duel of yours. Let's even the odds a little shall we?"

"Mom?" asked Brian, his eyes filled with wonder.

"That's right, it's mummy!" she said cheerfully. Tyche seemed to be full of energy. Then again I guess she was the goddess of luck.

"Wh-What are you doing here?"

"Silly boy! People don't realize it, but duels aren't nearly as one on one as people think they are. The fighters have friends to help them out before the battle even begins. Just like you're doing now."

"Okay, but what are you doing here for?"

"Honestly Brian, so many questions. Alright, if you must know I'm here to help you three. Athena and Poseidon are acting all high and mighty because they think their kids are the best around. Especially Athena. She thinks you can solve any problem with strategy, but she forgets about the little tiny chances that are left up to yours truly! She thinks you don't stand a chance because Percy has Annabeth, but she's wrong because you have my Brian, Arc. Her child may be amazing, but it's not every day a child of Tyche helps bring down Cerberus! If you want my help then all you have to do is guess the type of poker hand in my hat. If you guess right Arc, Brian will give you his emergency good luck card. Don't panic Brian, I have another one right here for you if Arc guesses correctly."

"Okay, but what does this card do?"

"It's a special card I give to my children in the event they get surrounded by monsters and are out of stored good luck. It grants them three uses of EXTREMELY good luck. It's pretty much the same as three wishes. But each child only gets one card. If Percy is about to land a finishing blow, you can use this to escape it."

"Hm… is that so?" I put my hand to my chin and gave it some thought. When we had discussed fighting Percy we knew exactly which three items I was going to bring: my trident, my bow and arrows, and my Nemian Lion's pelt. The problem was my Lion's pelt was pretty much useless in a fight like this. After all, Percy and I weren't looking for a duel to the death, so attempting to cause me any real injury was pointless. All the pelt really did was reduce the number of places that could earn Percy the win and we figured that given his experience, and the fact that Annabeth would easily anticipate that, it wouldn't really matter much because he'd get me anyway. "If that's the case… Royal Straight Flush!"

Tyche looked overjoyed as she jumped up and down like a little girl. Finally she squealed and handed me the card. I stood behind the three of them so Percy and his team couldn't see what I was doing, then removed the Lion's coat. I handed it to Wisteria and had her place it on. Apparently the coat is enchanted, changing how it looks to suit the person wearing it. When I had it on it was just a Lion's pelt with without the feet and tail with a zipper and sleeves built in, but when she had it, it became a big fluffy red robe.

"Since this Nymph is wearing your Nemian Lion's coat it will really throw them off." I turned the card over in my hand. It had the same pattern on the back as Brians Luckless card, but on the front were three big red seven's, like the jackpot on a slot machine.

"Well, have fun you kids, I'll be watching in the stands!" After that she handed Brian his new card and vanished only to reappear in the minor gods section of the celestial bronze bleachers.

"This is great!" Said Wisteria. "You might actually have a chance now!"

"Thanks, like it was so hopeless before now."

"Well it was looking pretty grim there Arc…" said Brian. I just shot him a cold look. I knew beating Percy would be hard, but that didn't mean my friends had to go and put the fact so directly into my face.

"Hey do you hear that?"

"Hey," said Wisteria pointing at the stands. "It's starting!"

I looked up. Sure enough there were the Stoll brothers. Connor spoke up first. "Welcome, welcome one and all to Camp Half-Blood! Of course I'm sure if you're here then you already know exactly what's going on!"

"But we're going to tell you anyways!" said Travis

"On our left we have the son of the seagod Poseidon, Percy Jackson! One of the children of the three big gods and the easy favorite for this match up he's known for countless feats of bravery all ready. He's defeated numerous beasts, most notably the Minotaur, Medusa, and there have even been rumors he had a sword fight with Ares!"

"I don't care whether he won or not Connor! Anybody who can fight the god of war himself and still tell the tale is okay in my book!"

That made me a little nervous. I had heard Percy was good... BUT HE FOUGHT ARES?! I was so screwed...

"That's right Travis! Other feats of Percy Jackson include invading and escaping the underworld and even surviving the sea of monsters! With a little help from Clarisse of course."

"Ah Clarisse, all muscle no brain but when you fight as well as she does you don't really need one!"

I watched the entire Ares cabin glare at the Stoll brothers. All of a sudden I became less worried about myself and more worried about them. Angering the Ares cabin was like a one way, all expenses paid trip to the underworld and given the behavior of those two I couldn't see them making it to Elysium. On the brightside I don't think they did anything bad enough to warrant the fields of punishment.

"That's right Travis. Now Percy has many known abilities the most notable of which is his power over water. As a son of Poseidon he can control water at will though if he wants to use the water from lakes and rivers he often needs permission from the naiad that lives there. The sea is his domain. He's completely capable of telling where he is at all times in the ocean so he never gets lost!"

"He's like a human compass Conner. That's not all Percy can do either. He can breathe underwater as though it were air, and even keep himself completely dry, though he can get wet if he so decides. One of Percy's lesser known abilities is the power to speak to horses. They say that he managed to coax the black Pegasus, Blackjack, to join our side by speaking to him with his mind."

"Percy's most notable weapons are his sword, Anaklusmos, or Riptide. It disguises itself as a pen and when uncapped becomes a one handed bronze blade of death! When he places the cap back on it changes to it's much more compact and easy to carry pen form. Percy also has a shield given to him by his cyclops brother Tyson. Normally it looks like a plain wristwatch, but when he hits button a full sized bronze shield pops out!"

"Percy is certainly a high level contender! Now on my right we have the newest addition to our half blood family, Arc Hunter! Arc is, get this everyone, the one and ONLY child of Artemis! That's right we have our own little moon child right here and he's no push over either! He's been with us for less than a month and already he's defeated the Nemian Lion, the boogeyman Mormo, and the guard dog of the underworld Cerberus!"

"He's a child of Artemis so no one really knows what he's able to do Conner. Rumors have gone around saying that he can draw power from the moon itself meaning a battle at night puts him at the advantage. Earlier this week we asked him for a list of skills. Since there's never been another like him and he's still new to his own abilities we couldn't compile a full list. However he's what we were able to learn."

"Right Conner! Arc can draw on the power of the moon increasing his physical prowess and making him both stronger AND faster! He has control over the moonlight itself, enabling him to condense it into arrow for him to use even if he runs out. We don't know if there's a limit to how much power he can store but we do know that the SPEED he absorbs it changes based on the phases of the moon."

I watched as Annabeth motioned to Percy and started whispering in his ear. Probably confirming the different theories she had and changing the battle plan accordingly. That made me a little nervous, the more Annabeth knew about me the less likely I was to win. Of course there were some things Conner and Travis hadn't announced because I didn't know them myself when they interviewed me. For starters there WAS a limit to how much I could absorb. If I took in too much at one time, it would basically give me the same effect as eating too much ambrosia. If I took the power in over time without reaching that limit though it would make me sick. That wasn't all either. Apparently the second I stepped into the sun, all but a small resevoir of my power gets sapped right out of me, and that resevoir slowly depletes throughout the day. I also wasn't sure about the different types of moon. I had no idea what a blue moon, harvest moon, or lunar eclipse would do to me, if they'd do anything at all. I was pretty sure that a new moon wouldn't give me any power though.

Percy was throwing his pen sword up in the air and catching it. Occasionally he'd miss and the pen would go flying off somewhere. He never got up to get it though and would just reach into his pocket a few minutes later and would start all over again. I knew his pen teleports back whenever he loses it, but it was still kind of freaky to see happen.

The moon was still a pretty decent size. I was sad it wasn't a full moon because then I could fight Percy full power, but the camp needed this fight now while Thalia was still in her coma. Besides I had made preparations for this and had stored near to my limit on moon power already. I decided to spend the time during the Stoll brothers announcements to check my equipment. Over the past three days I had been given some clothes from the camp store. I now had an iconic camp half blood orange t shirt, with blue jeans. My mothers necklace still hung around me, glowing lightly from my mother being up in the stands. I held its warm light close to me. As always the faint glow was comforting.

Aside from that all I was wearing was a pair of blue jeans and black sneakers. Not all that much considering I was about to have a fight with the strongest guy at camp. My adhd started kicking in then as I thought about the nemian lion's pelt. I wasn't sure, but I guess it would be possible to change how it looked on me. The first time I put it on I was having trouble and just wished that it would change so I could wear it easily. Then it just transformed into your standard hoodie. Now Wisteria was wearing it and it looked like a fluffy coat rich women wear. If I could change it again I hoped it would turn into a long overcoat with a cut in the back so it had two little capes when I walked.*

Suddenly a horn blew and I snapped my attention back to the stadium. Chiron was now running in with a scroll and a bronze microphone headset that had apparently been made by the Hephaestus cabin. He opened the scroll and began to speak. "Today, we bear witness to a duel between the son of the sea god, Perseus Jackson, and the son of the goddess of the hunt and the lady of the the moon, Achilles Hunter. The rules are thus: Each side is allowed to bring three items to combat. Each side will fight the other doing their best not to maim the other. The duel ends when one has landed what would otherwise be a fatal blow, such as placing a sword to the neck or heart. Should either duelist kill the other, the competition is then forfeit. Are both parties clear on these rules?"

Percy and I both nodded our heads. Chiron rolled the scroll back up and motioned for the two of us to come closer. Percy and I walked up to him and he made us cross swords, or in our case a bow and sword. We then walked back to our respective places on the beach and turned around. Waiting for the signal to begin. Our friends took their seats in the bleachers, and Chiron galloped to the announcers stand. Dionysus stood up and looked around to everyone. As the director of the camp he had the privilege of acting like an ancient greek king and starting th battle. Raising his hands he shouted like only a god could "LET THE BATTLE COMMENCE!"

Percy wasted no time. He drew riptide while simultaneously pulling out his shield. Charging toward me he held his sword low and swung it. I was looking at him strange wondering why he would do that when out of the corner of my eye I saw a column of water rise out of the ocean and fly right at me. I jumped over top of it, clearing it by a full four feet and drew my bow firing three shots before coming back down.

He ducked behind his shield allowing me to put up my bow and draw my trident. Out of the corner of my eye I saw Annabeth gasp. She must have been expecting me to fight with the bow for as long as possible since it was a weapon I was innately good with. But Wisteria had a feeling that would be the case and told me I would have a better chance in close combat due to the reach of the trident.

Percy's attack had made a large dust cloud and I lunged at him through it. He caught it with his sword though and pulled me to the side, slamming me in the face with his shield. The attack sent my head spinning and I was just barely able to jump out of the way of his sword swing. Unfortunately I had to let go of my trident meaning I was left with nothing but my bow.

I drew it and prepared to draw an arrow but didn't have the time. Percy had pulled up balls of water from the sea and began to fire them at me one after another I was forced to retreat constantly dodging the blasts one after the other as they hit the ground with the force of cannonballs. I was paying so much attention to the water that I almost completely forgot about Percy himself. I looked behind me and there he was slashing at me with his sword. I jumped rolled to my left towards the sea, prompting one of his own attacks to fly at him instead of me. Since he was the son of the sea god though I guess he just willed himself to stay dry as instead of hitting him it just kind of flew around him, like it hit an invisible forcefield that was right in front of his face.

To make matters worse my roll wasn't quick enough. While he didn't get me he did slice through my entire quiver of arrows and the one I was holding broke while I was rolling away. I drew shaky breaths as Percy stood before me with his sword and shield ready. The crowd was going absolutely wild screaming and cheering for their favorite. Most of it was for Percy but I could've sworn I heard a few girls from the Aphrodite cabin chanting my name.

I wiped my silver hair out of my face and began to concentrate. I closed my eyes and let the world melt around me. When I next opened them I saw nothing. Nothing but me, Percy, and the battlefield. My target was locked, my prey was in sight. I threw the leftover pieces of my quiver to the ground. They made a dull thud in the self imposed silence.

I began to draw on the power of the moon I had been storing up. Because of camp rules I couldn't go out at night, so storing power was hard. Wisteria had come up with an idea though to get me the boost I needed to fight Percy. She figured that the fountain in my cabin might be able to provide me with the strength I needed to fight Percy. As it turned out she was right. It was a long slow process, but I was eventually able to store power to my maximum in a single night. That of course is when we learned about the sun. After staying up all night I walked outside and lost nearly all of it the second the sunlight touched my skin. Needless to say I was not a happy camper that day. Still though I used that to store power before our duel today and of course I had been stockpiling it this whole time we've been waiting for the fight.

Drawing both from the power in my and the moon itself I Knocked a moonlit arrow. Just before firing an idea hit me. If Percy cold use water like that why couldn't I use the moonlight like that? Firing the arrow I watched as Percy lifted his shield then began to run as he thought better of it. The light slammed into the ground creating a blast like his water did. I then proceeded to fire another arrow only this time I willed it to split. Percy's eyes grew wide as he watched my one arrow split into six smaller ones. Five of them slammed into the ground while the last connected with his back. Unfortunately splitting them up made them weaker, so while it might have hurt it didn't get me the win.

I continued to fire shot after shot like that, keeping Percy on the run. Sometimes he'd dodge every shot and sometimes a few would connect. Regardless he was tiring out, and fast.

I knew exactly what I was doing. I kept firing these almost shotgun like volleys as he constantly dodged, wearing him down. Once he was weary enough I'd pin him down while drawing an arrow that he wouldn't possible be able to dodge and that would score me the win.

Suddenly I began to hear the water behind me begin to stir. Glancing back quickly I saw several liquid hands rise up and charge. With my body so powered up by moonlight though, dodging them was a simple task. A sidestep here, a quick jump there and all of the attacks were rendered useless. I looked back to the beach to find my target when I realized he was right in front of me sword charging.

I jumped as hard as I could to my right but to little avail. I managed to keep myself from losing, but not from taking another hard blow to the head. What's worse Percy was now standing waist deep in the sea, his strength back in full. I could use the moonlight to speed up my recovery but it took a little time whereas his was almost instant. Just then Percy lashed out at me with a trail of water. Still recovering I couldn't move fast enough, but I could fire an arrow down the center of the stream. For a brief moment I thought the impact had saved me but then I saw Percy's real intention.

Hidden inside the blast of water was a small yellow glowing cube. I tried to duck but I was too slow and it clipped my shoulder. A huge blast of light came out and I felt a sudden burning sensation as all of my strength suddenly left my body. Disoriented I tried to call upon my storage of power and create an arrow, but nothing happened. As my concentration faltered and the roar of the crowd returned I realized what had happened.

That was Percy's third item.

That was his trump card.

That was Annabeth's plan in action.

A small cube of concentrated sunlight borrowed from the Apollo cabin.

Annabeth had guessed my weakness, and I was now completely defenseless.

I tried to draw power from the moon as quickly as I could but it just wasn't happening. Percy was firing waterball after waterball at me and between my injuries and dodging those I couldn't concentrate long enough to get more than three shots. Things weren't looking up for me at all. I was left running around trying not to get blasted with no way of countering at all. Suddenly I felt kind of bad for what I had done to him earlier. Being on the receiving end of my own strategy was not a nice feeling.

That's when I had an idea. My trident it was sticking out of the ground not too far away. If I could get that I could at least have a weapon! I dug my heels into the ground as hard as I could and took off. Percy watched me and must have realized what I was doing as just before I got to it he blasted my trident, sending it flying even further away. I wouldn't be denied though and used to the small amount of moonlight I had managed to gather to fire at my trident sending it spinning through the air back towards me. Grabbing hold of it I placed my bow away and began to continuously dodge Percy's shots as I gathered my strength back.

After what seemed like an eternity I managed to get enough strength to take him on again. It wasn't much, but with the plan I had I didn't think I really needed a whole lot to begin with.

I began to charge Percy earning a reasonable gasp from the crowd. Let's charge the son of the sea god while he's in the sea. Makes perfect sense right? Well obviously Percy wasn't about to have any of that. He began willing the water to rise. Based on how hard he seemed to be concentrating, he intended on ending it here and now. But I'm stubborn and wanted to keep going, so I put a stop to that.

Holding out my other hand I willed the moonlight to mold into a new shape. Suddenly a ghostly white wolf burst from my outstretched fingers and charged at Percy grabbing and pinning his arm with his teeth. I willed two more dogs to assist him grabbing on to both of his legs leaving only his sword arm free. They weren't very strong and he quickly washed them away with a torrent of water, but it bought me enough time to get close to him.

Free from my wolves Percy forced a column of water to begin rising at my feet, but I slammed the trident into the ground and used it to pole vault myself over him. With a flip I landed behind him, grabbing his shirt and with all my strength, threw him out of the water and back onto the beach. Before he could get up I grabbed my trident and quickly rushed myself back onto the sand, making sure to stay a barrier between him and the ocean.

I raised my trident in a battle stance as Percy pulled up Riptide and his shield. Now that I actually had a chance to stand still for a few seconds the energy of the moon began to pour into me like it normally would, easing my weariness and giving me a much needed power boost.

Like sharks he and I began to circle each other slowly watching and carefully thinking about our next move. It wouldn't last long though. Percy had to know I was growing stronger by the second so if he didn't attack soon I'd be too strong for him to take.

Then we stopped and it began. Percy charged at me shield first. Using the bottom of my trident I deflected his shield and sidestepped him. I tried to bring the front end down to his head but he turned and caught it with his sword again. I wasn't fool enough to fall for the same trick twice though so I made sure to keep a good grip on my trident, slamming it into the ground so he couldn't throw it away. When he came at me with his shield I simply dodged by leaning back, then used the momentum to break my trident free and use it as a pole to lift myself up so I could land a hard kick to his chest. He was quick though and brought up his shield causing him to stumble backwards. I planted my feet on the ground and pulled my trident up, lunging at him carefully as I didn't want it to get stuck in his blade again.

This however was when our experience kicked in. While I was innately good with a bow, a trident was completely out of my comfort zone and I had only been using it for a small time. Percy on the other hand was a seasoned opponent who had been through plenty of battles. He dodged me easily again and again, using his sword and shield to deflect the thrusts he couldn't dodge. He was completely calm and collected with clean simple movements whereas I seemed panicked and my attacks looked frantic and sloppy. Seeing as how that wasn't working I decided to use the style I had created while training with Wisteria.

I began to wield my trident mostly one handed, spinning it around like you'd see in a Kung Fu movie. Normally this would be silly to do in a real battle as the chances of messing up and dropping your weapon would be pretty high plus you leave yourself pretty open, but with the moon's power flowing through me I could twirl it around as much as I wanted keeping it connected to me with nearly invisible threads of moonlight. They were so small and weak that I could use them practically whenever I wanted as they cost so little energy to make. This would be simple to do even during the daytime.

By spinning my trident around I caused it to gather momentum meaning the faster it spun the harder it hit, and you know me. Speed is my middle name. Well actually Drakonias is but that's not the point. Using this technique was enough to throw Percy off rhythm. He was having a hard time keeping up with me due to the strength and flow of my attacks. While he was used to fighting monsters and trained opponents, I was used to being raised by a hundred different families who each had different quirks they pounded into my head. In this case I was combining what I learned from gymnastics and ballet. (I said I learned how I never said I liked it!) This let fight with completely fluid motions like I was actually dancing. Spinning and jumping around Percy while using the all the balance I had to make sure I always landed on my feet exactly the way I wanted to. As I kept up my barrage the crowd grew louder and louder and for a moment it seemed as though I would win.

But of course it was only a moment.

Without realizing it Percy had carefully and purposefully been blocking and stumbling in just the right way as to bring us close to the sea again. I realized that too late though and watched as he drew a large amount of water towards him, forming a kind of shell around himself that he forced outward. There was nowhere I could go to dodge it and I took the full force of the attack causing me to lose my grip on my trident and once again send it spinning away.

I landed square on my back sending jolts of pain through my tired and beaten body. Dizzy and seeing stars I lifted my head up only to find Percy charging at me sword first. I was so exhausted I couldn't draw my bow. My storage of power was completely gone and my head was too bleary to concentrate and draw anymore. In a few seconds he'd be on me, sword at my chest and duel over. I closed my eyes waiting for the inevitable, when suddenly I had an idea.

My hand darted to my pocket wear I grabbed Brian's card. I pulled it out and held it in front of willing it to activate as Percy brought down his sword. Then, as if from nowhere, a bright green light flashed between us. When my eyes readjusted I was taken aback at what had happened.

A green blade made of light and smoke had stopped him dead in his tracks, blocking his blow. Holding that blade was a woman who seemed to be made of the same... whatever it was that the sword was made out of. She looked to be in her thirty's and was wearing a sort of half dress half toga type of clothing. Rings, necklaces, bracelets, and other fancy bobbles covered her arms and neck and she had long fully volumed hair that came down to her waist.

She pushed a little on her blade causing Percy to stumble and fall. She stared at him for a moment then turned her attention to me. In a rather deep, but strong voice she said "Are you Achilles, son of Artemis?"

Not knowing what else to do I nodded.

"I see. Well then I have a prophecy for you."

A prophecy? Wait she couldn't be...

"Delphi?!" I head my mother shout in what seemed to be a confused tone. So she WAS the oracle of Delphi. But I had been told that she never left the big house and that her body was old and withered like a mummy's. "Delphi, what's going on? How are you here? And why in that form?"

Everybody turned their attentions to the gods. Our eyes all widened as we noticed the shock on their faces. It's one thing to see a camp full of mortals and monsters shocked. But to see gods shocked as well is... well it's not normal even by our standards.

"I've come to deliver a prophecy just as I said. I have traveled quite a long ways through time to deliver this and I don't have much longer so I'm afraid you'll have to ask your questions to the me of this time." Some of the gods began demanding explanations but the oracle ignored them, closed her eyes, and began to speak.

Three kings will fall to their knees
A hellish dive will be the key
Your heart devoured by the lord of time
A tale retold without the rhyme
A spirit, a princess, a goddess your own.
For a day Zeus will bow as you sit on his throne.

With that the oracle opened her eyes, smiled, and vanished as though nothing ever happened. For a while all that could be heard was the wind and the waves. I knew why they were silent. Everyone knew why they were silent. It was that last line, the line that all but commanded my death sentence. Just when I had gotten on his good side, or at least his neutral side, some weird future seeing ghost just had to come and say something like that.

For a day Zeus would bow as I sit on his throne? I hoped today was that day, because I didn't think I was going to get another one.
