Percy's POV:

My mind rushed with possibilities about this. How could it be even possible? I knew for fact she wouldn't do that. No matter how much those two bothered her, she was unable to do that for herself. There were no realistic possibilities left.

Annabeth was paler than ever, and her eyes were wide with shock. I knew she was probably thinking the same I was. We were both looking at Mrs. O' Leary, who was sleeping soundly. She had something red on her nose, and right behind her, there was a leg.

Yeah, I'm not lying, a leg. A human leg, I may add. Annabeth hadn't seen it yet and I was too shocked to tell her. I didn't want to make her cry. The leg still had a shoe, and I knew it was Bobby's. Also, Mrs. O' Leary had a necklace hanging from one of hers huge tooth. It was Matthew's.

"Annabeth…" I said in a whisper

"Your hellhound ate my brothers" she said and it was barely audible

"I'm sure she didn't. This is just a mistake"

"A mistake?! Are you hearing to yourself?!"

"This cannot be OK. She is trained not to do that"

"Well, Percy, I don't know what you think, but I think she ate them. How am I going to tell my parents?" she started pacing around until she was close to the leg

"Wait!" in tried to run to her, but my dog put her left leg right on my foot. As she was asleep, I couldn't asked her to move, but I couldn't reach where my girlfriend was "Annabeth, I want you to stay put and don't look back, you understand?"

"Why?" her voice was shaky

"I'll explain to you later, but please, come here and don't look behind you"

"Percy…" she was about to turn round

"Annabeth don't!" Too late

She was so pale, I thought she would faint. While we were down in Tartarus, we saw lots of shocking things, but this was different because it was from his brother. At that moment, my hellhound turned round, so I was free. I ran to Annabeth and hugged her tightly. I had one arm around her waist and I was pressing her head on my chest. I was breathing heavily, so she was. I think she was sobbing, but I didn't care about my shirt getting wet with tears. I just wanted her to be OK. I kept holding her until she looked at me and said:

"Wait a minute" she had discovered something

She knelt down beside the leg and touched it.

"Jerks!"She said

"What?"

"It's plastic, Percy!" She passed a finger through the blood and then licked it. I had an intense urge to throw up. I didn't, thanks the gods. She continued talking "This is sauce. They are not dead"

"But…"

"No 'buts' Percy!" she was angry. Not with me, with them "This is not real! They got into the garage and did this!"

"So, if this is not real… where are they?"

"Probably hiding"

"We should…"

"You know what we should do?" she interrupted me

"I was about to say 'look for them' but I think you have another idea"

"Of course! Athena always has a plan!"

"And that plan would be…"

"Payback" she whispered

"Payback?"

"Payback" she repeated

"Like revenge?"

"Better than revenge"

"What do you have in mind?"

"Well… they made us think they were dead. So… let's show them what real death is"

"You want to kill your brothers?!" I asked

"No, Percy! I want to make them feel they are dead!"

"I'm listening"

"You and I both know what death is. We have lived it. Let's make them have the same feeling. We have to make them feel what we have been trough."

"Pretty intelligent"

"Yes, I know"

"And how do we do it?"

She explained her plan. It was brilliant. Well… she was a daughter of Athena, after all. That's why I loved being with her. She was the most intelligent girl I have ever known.

We were leaving at seven o' clock, and it was lunch time, so we had enough time to make those kids feel sorry.
