Sorry about not updating for a long time. I kept getting writer's block and got really busy crocheting Christmas gifts and working on last month's NaNoWriMo…
Anyway, because I was going to post a new oneshot / my first cross-over, I decided to work on this, too (as in, yesterday).
Horsea was one of Lance's closest Pokemon, and Gray knew it. Chuchu stared at the floor, her ears drooped. Shinx sighed and hopped down, sniffing the ground. It jerked back, its face scrunched. It looked up at Lance, nodding and walking ahead, continuing to sniff the ground, its expression unchanged. Chuchu turned to Lance and shrugged, handing him the Pokeballs. She hoped onto his shoulder as he started to follow Shinx.
Shinx frowned, looking back and forth down the hallway. It sat down, glaring in each direction. It looked up as Lance approached, complaining to him, pointing in each direction.
"He wants Yellow to find the Viridian Forest Guardian, so he's probably trying to get her to find it."
Shinx stared for a moment with an expression that seemed to say "Oh." It pointed to the left. It walked ahead a few steps and stopped, listening. It growled and ran ahead.
"Shinx!"
"I don't know how to find it!" Yellow repeated that statement for the third time."
"You know the Forest almost as well as Lance does," Gray gestured to the trees around them. "Latios will come to you… with enough motivation." He sent out his Noctowl. "Shadow Ball."
Noctowl powered the attack and fired it. A blue-green pulse of energy hit the attack, overpowering it. Noctowl flew out of the way and got hit by an Electric attack, as it fell it crashed into Gray, taking him to the ground.
Lance ran over to Yellow. "Are you alright?"
Yellow nodded and stared at Altaria with interest. "When did you get one of those?"
"… Isn't it the Pokemon you tried to give me?"
"No….that was Ratty…"
Lance gave Shinx a confused look for a moment. "Chuchu wanted me to use it." At that the Pikachu returned to his shoulder.
Yellow looked very confused. "Chuchu has been with me the whole time…."
They stared at each other and slowly turned to look at the Pikachu. The Pikachu sighed before jumping away, its body and the air around it shimmering as it grew in size, becoming more dragon-like; a red and white dragon took its place. At the same time Altaria had done the same, being replaced with a blue and white dragon.
Everyone except Shinx stared at the two Pokemon.
Gray slowly got up. "So that's why…." He got to Pokeballs out, throwing them. The Pokeballs opened, and then closed, returning to him. He frowned, getting another Pokeball, ordering for the Pokemon to come out. A Weavile materialized and used Blizzard. Latios and Latias picked up the Trainers, getting them out of the way and setting them onto the other Pokemon's back. Shinx growled and ran at Weavile, zapping it as it went by.
Gray looked from it to the two Latis. "I'll get rid of you first then… Weavile, Shadow Ball!"
Shinx waited and leaped up, disappearing before the attack would have hit it. Lance and Yellow gave each other a questioning look.
Gray walked towards where the Electric-type had been, frowning. "It must have-"
Shinx appeared in front of him, floating upside down and kept drifting out of the way as he grabbed for it. Gray turned to his Noctowl. "Foresight." The owl's eyes lit up and a light scanned Shinx. "Nice try, but now your Ghost-type will-" Nothing held Shinx.
The Electric-type rolled so it was right side-up. It blinked and stuck its tongue out, pulling the fur beneath one eye down with a paw. Gray glared and threw a punch at it, only for his fist to collide with a pink bubble and rebound into his face.
Shinx snickered and back flipped, flashing. A blue cat-like Pokemon with a long tail and large eyes too its place. It winked, "Mew!"
