A Second Chance
Chapter 13
Their lips finally meeting in a slow gentle kiss, leaning their forehands on each other's looking in each other's eyes. They are only broke apart when they hear little voices coming closer, leaning back the couple watches as their kids come walking in the bull pen with his father and Ziva.
"Hi daddy"
"Hello Shelby, Anna, LJ, dad and Ziver"
"Where are Tony and Tim?" Ziva asks
"They are sleeping behind their desks." Ziva gets an evil look on her face, bends down in front of the triplets
"You guys want to help me wake up Tony and Tim?" They shake their heads
"Ah Ziva, I don't think this is a good idea" Holly tries to reason
"Come on Holly let them have a little fun"
"Ok" The blonde signs, this is not going to have a good outcome.
"Ok, Anna and LJ you wake up Tim while Shelby and I will wake up Tony. How do you want to make them up?"
"Tickle" Shelby says
"Water" Anna and LJ say.
"How about we pour water over their heads and next time we can tickle them?" Shelby agrees, walking over to her desk grabbing two bottles un-capping them handing one to Anna the other to Shelby.
"Now we have to be quite so we don't wake them up in till we pour water on them. Ok you two go over to Tim come on Shelby." Gibbs, his father and Holly watch as the four of them walk over to their victim's, slowly the water drips on their heads Tony's hand comes over his head trying to wipe the water off, while Tim does nothing.
"More!" Ziva yells they pour the whole bottle over their heads. The two men jump up almost knocking over the kids.
"Ahhhh, what the hell" Tony yells
"DiNozzo, no swearing in front of the kids" Tony looks over at Gibbs with wide eyes, Gibbs is trying very hard not to laugh at him, he looks like a wet dog and so does Tim.
"Gibbs, shouldn't you say something to your kids about this?" Gibbs laughs
"No we agreed to this, it was all Ziver" Tony looks at his girlfriend with wide eyes.
"Zi, how could you"
"You needed to wake up"
"There are other ways to wake me up." He says giving her a look, she smiles walking closer, leaning so they are almost touching.
"Oh I know my little harry butt" She says as her fingers walk up his chest to his chin tapping a finger on it.
"Hey, will you two stop playing grab ass in the office" Tony jumps back, while Ziva moves back slowly with a smile on her face.
"Daddy you said a bad word" Anna pointed to her father, Holly smirks at him
"Yes, daddy did; don't any of you say it."
"Daddy get a spanking?" LJ ask, Holly can't help but laugh
"No, daddy is not getting a spanking"
"But you said bad word"
"Daddy is too big to get a spanking, so what do you think we should do to him?"
"Take his coffee away" Tony says which earns him a glare
"Tony that will be worse for us along with for Gibbs"
"You're right Ziva"
"I got it" Everyone looks at Tim
"No head slaps for a week"
"The last time that was suggested Jethro couldn't go 2 minutes without head slapping someone" Came a voice behind them. Everyone turns to see Jenny standing there, with a slight smile on her face.
"What happen?" Holly asks, she wants to know more about his past in the NCIS, and if she had to hear it from his ex- partner/lover then that was what was going to happen.
"I had been an Agent for 6 months and Jethro had no problem head slapping a woman"
"Only if you did something wrong"
"What you thought was wrong. Anyways Decker one of the other agents on our team and I bet him he couldn't go a week without head slapping someone. And it was barely two minutes later and he head slapped someone."
"I happen to remember it was you I head slapped"
"Yeah, you over reacted as I remember it"
"I remember I head slapped you because you wouldn't shut up about something"
"Did something happen between the two of them?" Jackson whispers to Tony, who smirks.
"We don't know for sure but there are rumors going around that they were together in Paris."
"Paris? When were they there?"
"Undercover thing had to act like a married couple, and from what I have heard they fell in love but Jenny left him when he was to come back here."
"Where did she go?"
"Cairo, which is where I met her"
"So you know what happen?"
"No, Tony I don't she just said she left her lover in Paris; picked the job over him."
"That must have been hard on Jethro."
"That was when he married his 3rd ex-wife."
"Dose Holly know about them?" Jackson asks
"I think he told her"
"What are you three whispering about?"
"Nothing boss" Jenny looks over at the three, the older man between them she has never seen before but he looks a little like someone she knows.
"Jethro, who is that man between them?" Before Gibbs can say anything Jackson walks closer to the red head
"Jackson Gibbs"
"Jennifer Shepard, Gibbs as in Jethro's father?"
"Yes, one in the same, it's nice to meet you."
"You too." I didn't know Jethro had a father? Wonder why he didn't say anything. I wonder if we stayed together would I have met him.
"Team, Holly and the kids brought some coffee and beagles." Everyone grabs one and sits where they can, once everyone is settled
"Ok back to what we should do to Gibbs for saying a bad word." Tony says to the group.
"I'll call Abby; she will be very upset if she is not a part of this." Tim says as he calls down to the lab
"I still think no head slaps for a week." Tony started, earning him another glare from Gibbs
"I would like to see if he could do it this time." Jenny adds
"You're just saying that cause you're the boss now." Gibbs answers angrily, the red head smirks at him
"That is a plus"
"Gibbs! Gibbs! Gibbs!" Abby yells running into the room
"Has anything been decided yet?" She asks looking around the room
"No, Abs. But Tony has a good idea" She turns towards the man in question
"No head slaps for a week" Abby's eyes get wide, an evil look crosses her face
"I like it. What did Gibbs do anyways?"
"He says bad word" Anna tells her
"So did Tony" Shelby adds
"Did he?"
"Hey Shel, I thought you were on my side"
"No" Ziva says laughing at him
"Even a 3 year old doesn't want to be on your side" Tony pouts
"Tony should have to give something up to" Tim adds
"Hey! This is about Gibbs not me"
"DiNozzo, you said bad word too, so you can suffer along with me"
"Fine, Boss" He knows there is no point to fighting against him
"Back to what we were saying. How about Gibbs no head slaps for 2 weeks and Tony no movie references for the same amount of time?" The others nod their heads except for Gibbs and Tony
"Wait why it is now two weeks Abs?" Gibbs asks
"Yeah" Tony agrees
"Well the first week is for swearing in front of the kids, the second week is to test your strength"
"I like it" Ziva agrees along with Jenny and Holly
"And that means at home too" Ziva grins evilly at him
"What happens if they can't go the full two weeks?" Holly asks
"If they mess up two days is added to the end for every mess up the make"
"Oh Ziva, I like the way your way of thinking" Holly and Ziva grin at each other.
"Boss, don't you think they are taking things too far now?" Gibbs gives him a look, Holly laughs as LJ tries to make the same face as his father
"DiNozzo, we are not getting out of this, just suck it up and deal with it. You know how these women are once they make up their minds" Tony sighs knowing he is right
"Then it is settled" Abby says jumping up and down
"Wait, how about we start this tomorrow since the day is half over?" Holly says
"Sounds good, you guys better get it out of your system" Abby tells them
"Alright, it's time to get back to work" Jenny tells the team before heading up to her office
"Kids tell daddy and the team goodbye we have to let them work" The three hug everyone in the room. Holly kisses Gibbs on the cheek before leaving with them and his father.

The team gets back to work, Ziva doing background, Tim finical and Tony helps Ziva. While Gibbs takes phone calls from the senator's office, FBI and many others wanting to know when the case will be solved. It was making him frustrated, he hates when others are putting presser on him like he doesn't know he needs to solve it and fast. Slamming the phone down, he looks at the others
"Do we have anything?" He yells at them. The three look at each other than their boss before all three start talking at once.
"Stop! Ziver what do you have?"
"He had what seems like a normal childhood. Other then he hardly saw his father growing up"
"Which led to him to acting out in his teenage years" Tony picks up
"Was into some bad stuff, drugs, drinking; got arrested a few times but it was dropped. His father got him out of it. Was sent to another private school but got kicked out a year later. Father sent him to military school after that he barely got through his training before he got kicked out of that as well"
"Was he in the Navy?" Gibbs asks He is wondering why they have this case
"No he was thinking about it but got kicked out before he could figure out what he wanted"
"His father was" Ziva says
"That is why we have this case, Tim have you found anything?"
"He didn't have much money. Never kept jobs for long, the longest was about a year and half at a fast food chain his father got him that job."
"So he can't keep a job or stay out of trouble. Maybe it's time to talk to his father and mother. Tony call them to set up a meeting as soon as they can"
"Yes, Boss" Tony picks up the phone to make the call
"I'll go update the director" Gibbs says as he leaves the room, a few minutes later Tony slams his phone down making both Tim and Ziva look over at him.
"What did he say?" Ziva asks
"We are being stonewalled"
"What did he say Tony" Tim tries time
"He said he can't talk to us till Friday"
"What! Why not? You would think he would want to find his son's killer" Ziva says
"Yeah you would think" He mumbles back.
"Ziva, claim down, think of the baby" Tony adds, in return she gives him a glare, as she starts to rub circles on her belly, Gibbs comes down the stair, sees this and hurries towards her
"Ziver, everything ok?" She smiles up at him, still rubbing her belly
"Yes, Gibbs everything is fine" He looks at her for a few more seconds before turning towards the men
"Tony what did he say?"
"We are being stonewalled" Sighing, Gibbs had hoped this was going to be a somewhat easy case but it doesn't look like it.
"DiNozzo, McGee do a little digging into the Senator's background"
"Yes, Boss" Both men get right to work
"Ziver, why don't you go down and see Abby, relax for a little while"
"Gibbs, I feel fine. I don't need to rest"
"Ziver, think of the baby, no go relax half an hour"
"Fine" She says mumbling as she walks out of the room

An hour later Ziva comes back up to the bull feeling more relaxed Gibbs had been right. She walks into the bullpen to find it empty
"Where did everyone go?" She says to herself, walking over to desk she finds a note
Dear Sweet checks,
There was another murder; Gibbs said he would call you with what he wants you to do.

"Being pregnant sucks" Looking down at her belly, placing her hand on the bump
"I know it's for your own good, but mommy doesn't know if she can handle desk duty."
"Ziva are you talking to yourself?" Looking up she sees Jenny by her desk smiling at her
"No I was talking to the baby."
"Oh Where are the other's?"
"There has been another murder"
"Do you know who it was?"
"No, Tony left me a note saying Gibbs would call me when they had something"
"Ok, well please tell Gibbs I would like an update as soon as he can"
"I will tell him."
"Thanks Ziva, try and relax"
"I am trying; I am just not use to not being out in the field that is all"
"I know but it's what best for the baby"
"I know, everyone keeps reminding me" Smiling again Jenny leaves Ziva alone. A couple minutes later her desk phone rings, excited that she will be able to help now, she picks it up quickly.
"David"
"Hey sweet checks"
"Hey Tony, Do you have anything for me?" Tony laughs at the excitement he hears in her voice
"Gibbs wants you to look into the Senator's background more"
"Ok, who was murdered this time?"
"His brother"
"First his son then his brother, does Gibbs think it's the Senator?"
"Not sure"
"Ok, tell Gibbs Jenny was down here looking for an update"
"Ok, bye"
"Bye love" Ziva hangs up, starting to dig into his background.
