"Amy please stop hugging me. The Doctor say's if you keep on doing this we'll create a paradox and destroy the universe" Avery complained as her great x10 grandmother squeezed her to death. Avery had gone on far too many adventures with the Doctor and the Ponds, and began to feel she was outstaying her welcome. Not to mention she did slightly miss everyone back on the Enterprise.
"I have had to much fun with you sweetie. Sure you don't wanna make one last stop?" she asked.
"I need to get back to my ship, I've been gone to long it feels like. Don't want to head back with streaks of gray hair now do I? Otherwise people will have noticed" she joked. Amy tucked a strand of ginger hair behind Avery's ear and then squeezed her face a bit.
"You be a good girl now you hear" she sounded very motherly.
"Rory" Avery complained. Rory Pond came in and nudged Amy away from Avery. Amy made a small embarassed smile towards Avery.
"Come here you give your grandad a hug" Rory said as he practically picked Avery up. Avery let out a chuckle. When he set her down she turned towards the Doctor, who was leaning against the TARDIS door.
"No hug from you then mister?" Avery asked as she walked up to the Doctor. The Doctor let out a smile as Avery hugged him.
"Hugs from Ponds are the best" he told her. Avery smiled at him when they pulled away.
"Sorry about your uniform getting all ruined" he apologized as he began to unlock the doors. Avery looked down at her outfit it was a small hawaiian shirt with a tank top underneath and with it she wore, blue converse and tan shorts. They had just visited Elvis during his heyday in Hawaii, but beforehand she had ruined her Starfleet uniform when she got a bit to close to a actual replica of the Trevy Fountain, in Rome at Willy Wonka's Chocolate World, and fell in.
"It's alright I got a couple extra back on the ship" she shrugged.
"Good well I've locked onto the Enterprises signal and you should be right where I picked you up" the Doctor informed her. Avery nodded and began to grab for the handle.
"Well it's been fun" Avery turned towards them.
"Don't hesitate to call if you get lonesome and let me know what happens with you and that Captain Sexypants" Amy told her.
"Oh you should ask him out for texting a scones, I hear that's all the rage with you new age kids" the Doctor advised. Avery looked at Rory.
"Any advise from you grandad?" she asked.
"Be yourself" he told her. Avery nodded at him.
"Well goodbye" she smiled at the three of them and with that she stepped out the doors of the TARDIS. However;she was not met with the clean shiny exterior of one of the hallways on the Enterprise.
Instead she was met with a strange jungle like atmosphere. The trees were white with red leaves, smoke was erupting from a mountain not far away, and far off she could hear the sound of the ocean. Avery now regretted not taking her communicator with her when she had last left the Enterprise.
"Crap" she muttered to herself as she turned around hoping to find the TARDIS still there but was instead met with the view of more forestry.
"Great, just great" she said out loud now as she began to wander. The Doctor had told her that he had locked on to the Enterprise's signal so her crew had to be somewhere nearby. As she began to walk around hoping by now that she was not hopelessly going to be stuck here forever something knocked her to the ground with a brute force.
"Ow damn it" she tried to stifle out as she spit out all the dirt that had been lodged into her mouth when she had been projected into the ground. She looked up to see someone in a sort of robe like outfit with a hidden face. Not knowing if it was an alien with no knowledge of Starfleet Avery began to formally introduce herself in the way she had been taught at the academy.
"My name is Avery Pond-Williams I'm a member of Starfleet and-" the hooded figure flipped down their hood.
"AVERY?!" Kirk shouted.
"KIRK?!" Avery shouted back confused.
"OH MY GOD YOU'RE NOT DEAD" he pointed out.
"Of course I'm not! What's going on?" Avery asked.
"Did you go to Hawaii?" he asked looking at her clothes.
"Not important at the moment" she reminded him as she began to her this strange tribal yelling behind her. Suddenly a deadly creature popped up out of nowhere and Kirk quickly shot it down.
"DAMN IT JIM! that was our ride you shot down" Another hooded figure snapped as he pulled his hood down revealing himself to be Leonard McCoy.
"Oh my god you're not dead" McCoy said when he glanced at Avery.
"Of course I'm not dead. I've only been gone what a day?" she asked. The shouts began to draw nearer and the three of them all took off in a run now.
"What's that?" Avery asked noticing a scroll in Kirk's hand.
"I don't know they were bowing to it so I took it to draw them out" he explained.
"YOU COLOSSAL IDIOT" Bone's shouted at him as they began to dodge spears being tossed at them. Jim stopped for a moment and slid the rolled up scroll on a branch of one of the trees.
"We should get running now" he advised. Bones and Avery both rolled their eyes at there Captain and followed his lead. Avery's chest began to burn from the amount of running she was doing. She was insanely out of shape. Being entertainment manager meant she didn't have to run around the place all the time and now here she was running for her life. She was surprised she hadn't tripped yet.
"Jim the beach is the other way" Bone's commented as they began to reach the end of the forest.
"We're not going to the beach" Jim replied. Avery nearly stopped in her tracks as she saw what lied ahead of her, which was nothing but a steep drop down to the ocean.
"That's insane" she commented trying to think of some way out of this but her legs kept propelling her forward.
"You good at swimming Pond?" was the last thing she heard before her, Kirk, and Bones propelled themselves into the ocean. The next thing she knew she was falling and could hear the wind whistling past her ears and soon braced herself for impact. The fall made her limbs cry out in pain but she had to follow Jim and Bones before she lost them. Her eyes began to sting as she opened them in the salt water to find her way, her head began to hurt from the pressure as she swam lower, and to top it all off she was pretty sure she would have to find a lung donor from all the strain she was putting on them today. Finally though they reached the Enterprise under the water.
The three of them were sucked in as a hatch was opened and they landed ungracefully in a pile of limbs on the floor before them.
"Do you know how hard it is to hide a starship below the bloody ocean" Scotty snapped at them as he came in.
"JESUS,MARY,AND JOSEPH! Last time I checked two of you left to go and distract the native's, and now there's three of you! Unless I'm seeing a ghost" Scotty exclaimed as he noticed Avery.
"Not dead!" She coughed out trying to expel some sea water from her lungs as her and the others got up to straighten themselves out.
"Jim! It's Spock!"Uhura interrupted any further conversation as she told the captain that the first Officer was in imminent danger and that they had to save him. The walk to the elevator was a short one thankfully but for Avery, she was found unlucky as she had to stand in awkward silence with Jim Kirk on the ride up to the bridge. It took all of Avery's will to not stare at how attractive her captain looked in that wetsuit but she couldn't help the blush creeping up her cheeks.
"I was in Hawaii" she answered his question from earlier, she couldn't stand the awkward silence any longer "I met Elvis" she continued.
"Nice" Kirk nodded not wanting to take the conversation any further, due to other matters at hand, but there were now several questions he had about where the Enterprise's Entertainment Manager had exactly been. And they were once again in awkward silence. Avery didn't know how long she had been gone but she knew that she had obviously missed having the drink with him that she had promised after the Silence attacked. However, now was not the time to bring it up, there were more important things to do at the moment other then apologizing. As the door's opened Kirk and Avery stepped out but Avery was quickly dragged back into the elevator as a familiar flash of red hair tightly gripped onto her arm.
"OW!" she couldn't help but shout out in pain as the doors closed and she turned to her best friend Morgan.
"Where have you been?" she asked as she hugged her.
"How long have I been gone?" Avery asked, finally she had someone she could talk to about her adventures. Morgan was silent for a moment and then answered
"A month"
"A MONTH!" Avery ran her hands down her face in frustration. No wonder everyone had thought she was dead! She was going to be in serious trouble for this. This could even cost her, her job. How could she have been so stupid to take a chance like that, she should have known from all those stories she had been told that the Doctor was never on time.
"I didn't know that would happen" she confided in her friend.
"I told most of them you were sick and when we made a fuel stop I lied and said you had to urgently go back home because of your illness so you took a cheap transport home" Morgan told her.
"Did anyone believe that?" Avery asked.
"Some did" Morgan tried to say.
"I'm done for. I'm going to have to be a bartender. How can I explain that I left at a fuel port and then magically appeared wherever the hell we are" Avery complained.
"But I may have some good news" Morgan tried to cheer her up.
Morgan skipped off to her quarters. Her date with the adorable Pavel Chekhov had gone wonderfully and in fact ensured that there would be a second one. As she passed by Avery's quarter's she saw a slightly forlorn Captain Kirk in front of it with his hand sraised, ready to knock on the door. This made Morgan pause for a moment. She had never had an informal conversation with the Captain before but she couldn't help it as words began to spill out of her mouth.
"Are you alright sir?" she asked. The Captain turned towards her confused for a moment he recognized the female before him as a friend of Avery's and wondered if she could help him solve this little mystery he was having. He paused for a moment as he tried to think of how he was going to put this.
"I'm looking for Pond. We were supposed to meet for a drink over professional matters but she didn't show up so I was worried about her well being" Kirk told the young Tech. Analyst. Morgan smiled for her friend but then realized Avery wasn't back yet, like she said she would be. Quickly she tried to come up with an excuse for her friend.
"Last I checked she actually had a cold, she couldn't reach her comms unit though. I think she forgot it somewhere. But I know she was really looking forward to it" Morgan explained and then quickly stopped herself as she realized she may have said to much. A smile formed on the Captain's lips.
"Well if you see her let her know I can take a rain check and I hope that she feels better" he said before leaving.
"How is that supposed to make me feel better?" Avery asked.
"I think he likes you" Morgan smiled as she nudged Avery in the shoulder with a big smile on her face.
Sorry that's a random ending but I hope to continue this soon
