Author's Note- Finally, my poem about Lucy.

Lucy: A Child's Dilemma

It's calm barking,

A sound to soothe my aching ears.

Ears that ache from hearing nothing,

nothing but one's name,

in cruel phrases.

A bark so gentle,

So sweet,

A noise able to bring joy to me.

Only it gave me company,

Only it brought me joy.

Yet one day my secret was discovered by one,

One whom I confessed to with no lie.

Her lips were stitched,

Or so her empty words told.

Yet even words so empty,

Sounded truthful to me.

The unheard secret,

Slipped from her loosely stitched lips.

To be heard by those with hearts,

hearts of a true monster.

The one that I loved,

caught in their claws,

beaten till it reached the light.

The monsters had done it,

done the unthinkable.

I yelled out in pure agony and pain,

and then I fell,

slipped of the edge,

of the cliff I always stood on.

The last sounds,

heard before I was lost,

the sound of red liquid hit wall.

Then there was darkness,

I lost all control,

I didn't control my body anymore.

It seems the cliff,

Was one I was meant to fall of,

and pure evil was meant to control me.
