Patch was nearly asleep, tangled in the white musty hotel sheets, laying on his back with all of his 8 pack glory showing. In his mind, he could see Nora's beautiful glowing face and her soft, plum lips that he knew all so well. An image he wished wasn't just something he imagined; he wished she could be here with him. Not just because he loved her and missed her, but he felt the need to protect and comfort her and being so far away didn't satisfy that need among others.

It took a few months for the elder couple to prepare the house for showing, which really sucked. Now the baby was almost on the way and Nora was bed ridden, meaning Patch had to go by himself to make sure the house was as good as the pictures.

The ringing of his phone cut off Patch's murky, half-asleep thoughts . He groaned as he sat up onto the side of the bed. He ran his hands through his hair and looked to the clock. It was roughly 2 in the morning. His phone rang for a fourth time; He turned to the blindingly bright screen. It was Vee. What the hell did she want at this hour?

Patch picked up the phone, his voice hoarse and irritable, "Hello?"

"GET YOUR ASS OVER HERE!" Vee screamed through the phone. Patch had to move the phone a few inches from his face so his ear drum didn't break.

"What the hell, Vee? It's two in the morning."

"NORA'S IN LABOR!"

Those words made his heart stop. It couldn't be. Nora wasn't due for another 6 weeks. Suddenly, Patch had that taste of fear that he knew all too well. What if the baby doesn't make it? What if Nora doesn't make it? No. He couldn't think about that. He had no meaning to his life if he didn't have Nora.

"How is she?"

"I DON'T KNOW! THEY WON'T LET ME IN! UGH!" Vee yelled.

"I'll be there in 2 hours." Patch said in an even tone.

"PATCH YOU'RE 700 MILES AWAY, HOW ARE YOU-?" Patch hung up before Vee could finish.

Patch swore he was going to be there for Nora and he would be no matter what.

….

The clear, cool night will make the trip back to Maine quick. Patch's thoughts ran through his head as he drove at an inhuman speed. His stomach kept doing these crazy flips. The last time he felt like this was when he escaped from Hell and he couldn't find Nora. He felt panicked and anxious like he might never see her again. Patch pushed those thoughts away as he drove. He had only one thing on his mind and that was he was going to be there for Nora.

2 and a half hours later…

Patch ran into the emergency room. Vee and Gavin shot up from their seats and followed behind him.

"They still won't let us see her!" Vee protested as she glared at the nurse behind the reception desk.

Patch's aurora immediately made the nurse take a step back. She was wearing blue scrubs with her dirty blond hair pulled back into a bun.

"Nora Grey. How is she? Can I see her?" Patch demanded.

"A-and you are?" the nurse stuttered.

"Her fiancé." Patch said sternly. Nothing was going to stop him from being with Nora when she has their baby.

The nurse paused for a moment before pressing a button. "Right through those doors. Take a left then a right, she's in the 3rd room on the right, b-but I'm not even sure if the doctors will let you in."

"They'll let me in." Patch mumbled before hurrying through the doors.

….

Patch ran into the room to see Nora lying on her side facing away from him and a blanket pulled up to her chest. Patch strode up to her resting one hand on hers and the other on her face. He brushed a few stray hairs from her sweat coated face.

"Hey, baby. I'm here."

Nora stirred turning to Patch. His charcoal eyes were worried but loving; it soothed Nora's ache instantly.

"Patch…" she said ever so softly as she turned towards him. She reached up and pulled him in so their lips met in a fierce kiss. Patch felt his worry melt away as he lost himself in her. She dug her hands into his hair with a desperate need for him. For his comfort, his warmth, his love.

Patch pulled away, meeting Nora's eyes. His eyes saddened as he leaned away. Nora sat up catching his hands as he tried to pull away.

"I'm so sorry you had to do this by yourself…"

"Patch, It-"

"I swore I'd be there for you and help you through it, but you were here all alone." He paused. "I failed you again, Nora Grey, and because I have I will voluntarily chain-" Nora punched Patch, cutting him off.

"Don't even finish that sentence, Patch!" She took a deep, ragged breath and pulled him in so only a few inches remained between them. "You haven't failed me. You've never failed me. None of this was your fault, so don't blame yourself. We have a family now and maybe a beautiful house that we can raise him in."

"Him?"

Nora smiled. "Our son. Hunter Harrison Cipriano.."
