The morning dawned a pearl grey. Katniss awoke to screaming coming from the bed across the room. She rushed out of bed and knelt next to the screaming form of her younger sister Prim. "Prim? It's just a dream. It's okay, please wake up." She cajoled, trying to calm the young girl. The brunette smiled as the blonde woke, blinking. "Hey, I'll be back, okay? I'm going to go get something for dinner." She explained, moving to get dressed. After grabbing her foraging bag, she ambled down the stairs and grabbed the cheese Prim had hidden under a bowl. She smiled at her sister's thoughtfulness. She wandered to the fence surrounding District Twelve. Hearing no telltale hum of the fence being electrified, she crawled underneath and into the forest. After hunting for a while, she met up with her best friend Gale. They went to their spot and sat, talking about anything and everything under the sun before gathering some food and heading back to the Hob to sell their wares. She smiled as one of the people in the Hob gave her a Mockingjay pin. She left and brought the food she had left to her home.
Harry awoke with a start. 'Who was that strange girl? What did she have to do with me?' Harry thought, wondering what that dream had been about. His aunt and uncle had sent him off to an orphanage in District Twelve so they would not have to deal with how different he was. He sighed as he got up and dressed for the Reaping that would take place in the town square that day at two. He frowned as he tried to manage his unruly hair. Frowning, he put his wand in his jeans pocket and hoped that his friends wouldn't be picked for the Reaping. He wanted to keep them safe. Voldemort was still trying to kill him, and the President wanted to basically control the population. He swore that Voldemort and President Snow were related somehow. "They are too similar to not be related." He muttered, frowning. As two crept closer, he sighed and joined the throng of people heading for the square. He zoned out as the video played before he heard a girl's name be called and noticed it had been one of the ones from his dream. He frowned slightly before hearing the name Peeta Mellark be called. He stepped out from the group of people. "I volunteer as Tribute." He called, out, noticing Ron's sister Ginny become pale at his exclamation. He walked up on stage and stood beside the brunette who had volunteered for her sister. Shaking her hand, he tried to figure out where he had seen her before. They let go of each other's hands and walked into the city hall. He talked to his friends and even talked to the man he had volunteered for. "Please take care of Ginny. She is hard to miss. Red hair, fiery temper, and usually can be found near her brothers." He nodded, hearing Peeta agree to keep her safe. "Thanks. I don't know why, but I feel like you can be trusted to keep my friends safe." He muttered, sighing as he ran his hands through his hair. "Don't take offence to any questions Ron's family might ask you. They are welcoming and will probably treat you like one of them." He explained, smiling. He stood and shook Peeta's hand before leaving to make his way to the train station. He boarded the train and went to his room to freshen up a bit.
