Chapter Twelve

Daphne closed her eyes as she felt warmth go throughout her entire body. She took a deep breath. It felt so good. "Thank you, Mrs. Elphaba," she said to the green witch.

"You're welcome. Now come. We have to rescue your mom, your dad, and David," she replied. She spoke the last name in a more worried tone.

The princess of Oz noticed but did not say anything about it. "So do you have any children?"

Elphaba nodded. A smile crept upon her face. "I have three boys. All are grown up and living in different places. Two are married and one is not."

"Where do they live?"

"I would tell you where they live, but I don't want Morrible to know about that in case she captures you or anything."

The blonde haired girl nodded. She understood the reasoning. She was about to say something to her when suddenly she felt very dizzy. Darkness completely clouded her vision. She fell forward and fainted.

Elphaba grabbed her, picked her up, and put her in her bed. The green witch closed her eyes. She clinched her fists. She was going to kill Morrible when this was over. She touched Daphne gently.

A vision suddenly came to her. She let out a gasp. A smile crept upon her face. She would not mind if that vision happened. It would be good. The problem with her visions though was that they would change sometimes. She hoped that this was not the case.

David let out a deep sigh as he looked down at his hands (or lack of hands, in this case). Straw?! Really? I have to be turned into a scarecrow now?! He thought to himself. He murmured some words and he changed back into his human form. He smiled. He was back to normal now.

Glinda stared at the young man in front of her. A look of shock and disbelief were on her face. She shook her head. The young man was a sorcerer or wizard by the looks of it. He must be a smart and powerful one in order to counteract a spell like that after the torture he went through. She and Elphaba had used to think that there was way to reverse any spell, but as Glinda began to learn how to read thed Grimmerie she learned that all spells had a way to be reversed or counteracted.

David looked down at the ground. He felt like he was being scrutinized for the magic he just did. He knew Glinda was no stranger to magic. She was a witch. So why was he being looked at in awe? He grabbed her hand. "Is your husband here?" He asked.

The blond witch shook her head. "They took him away," she replied sadly.

The dark haired young man let out a sigh. "Okay, when he gets back. We are getting out of here."

"How?"

"Let's just say that I have a few tricks up my sleeves…"

Daphne groaned when she woke up. She rubbed her head. She started to sit up.

"Lay back down," Fiyero told her. He gently pushed her back onto the bed and offered her a glass of water.

The blonde let out an aggravated sigh. She took the glass of water. She was about to drink it when her hands started feel funny. She let out a gasp as she watched the water turn into ice.

Fiyero's blue eyes widened. "Fae, get in here! It is getting worse!"
