Epilogue
David attempted to sit up in his bed, but was unable to do so. The sound of crying had waked him up. He winced as he felt pain in his chest. He looked down at where the pain was coming from. A smile crept upon his face. "Daphne," he whispered gently as he rubbed her back.
"Huh?" His wife replied sleepily.
"Chloe and Ethan are awake."
Daphne let out a low groan and lifted herself up. She got off the bed and walked down the hallway in their house. David followed her.
The young married couple reached the baby room at the exact same time. Daphne picked up Chloe and David picked up Ethan. The adults sat in the two rocking chairs and started to rock their children. It took half an hour for the babies to fall asleep. When they did they put them back in their beds.
David jumped when he heard the clock strike midnight. "Happy Anniversary, honey," he said as he kissed Daphne.
The blonde girl blushed. Even though had been married for three years, he still had the ability to make her blush. "You know it is not our anniversary," she replied when they broke the kiss.
"I know but today is the day that I first told you that I love you."
Daphne nodded. That was true. "It was also the day when we got turned into scarecrows, and the day when Oz was destroyed."
"At least you did not destroy Oz."
"No, I never did. You and our mothers did a good job of that."
David laughed. His green skin seemed to glow in the moonlight. "We had good intentions. Morrible had hurt you then she put a spell on your dad to make him kill you. At least she is dead now and we were able to repair Oz."
"I wish the time dragon had cleared all of this up when I was a kid."
Yeah but it is all over now."
And it was true. Oz was completely safe. The dragon had told them that and had confirmed the death of Morrible as well. Everyone was happy when they had heard the news. Elphaba had even made sure the woman was dead and she was.
A mischievous grin crossed David's face. "Do you want to play in the snow?"
A giant smile crept on his wife face. She still had her ability over the snow, but now she had full control of it. She closed her eyes and created a giant snowball. She threw it. It hit David in the face. She ran toward their room.
David glared at her. He started to chase after her. "That was not fair!"
Daphne laughed. "You never gave any rules."
Her husband beamed.
Life was perfect for the married couple. They had two children and each other. These were the things that made them happy and made them cherish the important things in life. The couple knew that as long as they had each other and their children, they be able to make it through just about anything.
