I saw the weird stone creature sitting in the middle of the road and I slowed to a walk. I ran my hand over it as I walked by it. The stone rough beneath my hand, chilled to the bone. The cave entrance was dragging me into it yet again. I closed my eyes and thought of Haku then proceeded to walk into the vast darkness.
The inside still looked the same. Old train station, and empty except for a few benches. I walked outside and took a deep breath. It was a vast empty field except for a town at the bottom of the hill. I suddenly started running as fast as I could across the field and down to the town. Jumping over rocks across the river and up the stairs just to do so. I looked around and then started to run down random streets. Looking at the stalls I passed looking for Haku.
"HAKU!" I finally yelled as loud as I could stopping at a cross in the roads.
I looked around breathing hard and realized that this was the spot where my parents had been turned into pigs. I flinched at the memory and started to stumble backward. I felt myself bump into a broad chest and I froze. The spirit was breathing hard behind me as if he was angry or as if he had been running.
I knew I wasn't suppose to be here but Haku hadn't come for me so I had to find him. He didn't keep his promise either. I knew I had to keep him safe however even if it meant risking my own life.
"Chihiro what are you doing back here?" I heard and I felt my heartbeat rise.
I turned and there was Haku.
