The bullet shot out of the suspects' gun and flew past Lisbon, narrowly missing her head. She ducked behind a pile of crates.
"Lisbon!" Jane shouted. He panicked as he couldn't see her after the psycho fired his gun at her head. Was she alive? "Oh god" he thought. Tears ran his face. He couldn't believe his eyes. But, all a sudden there was a flash of light from Lisbon was last seen. It gave him some hope. Especially as the crook fell, crashing into a load of crates by the door, a few seconds after.
After Jane was sure that the coast was clear, he ran towards Lisbon.
"Lisbon, I'm so glad that you're okay!"Jane puffed. "I was so worried". His hair was all over the place and his eyes were frantic. He was shaking with nerves.
He pulled her into a hug, and squeezed her into her body.
"Jane, let go" Lisbon said, "I'm fine." She wriggled out of his grasps and pushed him away.
"I wish, you would stop running into buildings, all gun ho after suspects."Jane breathed out, "what are you trying to do? Give me a heart attack?"
"Jane... It's my job to me in harms' way."
"Yeah, but I don't like it."
"Look, Jane. We've been living like we're in glass houses for so long. Sometimes, we need to crack a window and let some air in." Lisbon remarked. "Life's too short..."
Jane grabbed her face and kissed her.
"Jane!" she screamed as she jumped back, "what the hell do you think you're doing?!"
"Throwing a stone to smash the glass walls." he grinned.
"What! I've got a boyfriend. I'm going out with Marcus." she said stepping further away from him, shaking her head.
"But, do you love him?"
"I...I.." Lisbon stammered. "Jane..."
"I love you Teresa, and I believe that you may love me too. That's why, I'm willing to wait however how long it takes, for you to sort out your feelings for me." He blurted out. His cheeks turned a shade of pink and he looked away shyly.
"What if I stay with Marcus forever."
"Then at least, I would die happy, knowing what it felt like to kiss you."
Lisbon was speechless. But, decided to walk away from the confrontation of their feelings. Jane happily followed behind her. He knew that she wouldn't mess with his feelings. He just had to wait and see what she decided.
It was only later in the bullpen, when he knew that she was considering what life with him would be like.
She was smiling, looking lost her thoughts. She kept glancing at him every so often,as she believed that he was sleeping on the couch.
Yeah, she definitely has been thinking about his kiss since they left the warehouse. Hopefully, she decides to break up with Pike soon rather than later, because he doesn't know how long he could play nice for.
But he knows one thing for sure, the chase was going to be exciting.
