Chapter 14.

"You all must be very famished after the long walk over here and it is a good thing that I had made batch full of snicker doodles and glasses of lemonade to quench your thirst." Amelia explained as the kids were all at the big round table eating their snacks. "Thank you so much for the delicious cookies Mrs. Daniels." Henry complimented appreciating the offer seeing her giggle. "It was no problem at all there Henry dear, I enjoy baking treats for my guests especially guests who are great friends with my son." Henry smiled taking one last bite of his snicker doodle and sipping the lasts of his refreshment.

A little while later, after the homework was completed, and the dishes and cups were all washed, dried, and packed away, Thomas and Percy were in Thomas's room playing, Emily was outside with Amelia watering the flowers, and Henry was just exploring around the house looking at pictures of the Daniels family. He smiled warmly looking at one of a very young Thomas, sitting on his mother's lap, along with tall blonde hair male which revealed his Father looking grand and mighty with his hands behind his back. Sir Rupert Daniels was the second in command of the great world war; he was very kind, caring, and devoted husband and father towards his family and felt proud being a hard worker. Sadly, he had lost his life while in Germany that resulted for his troopers to carry his dead body back to Sodor; Thomas was only 3 years old when he saw his dad laying in his casket but was taken away for it was too heartbreaking to watch him trying to wake him up.

3 more years later, by the age of 6, Thomas had met and instantly befriended 3-year-old Percy who's father died from liver cancer and was also in the war by that time. Hearing the word death ring in his ears, he felt like his heart had hit his feet feeling the stinging of tears forming in his eyes as he tried to brush them away going outside to get some fresh air; after all, being inside for too long, gave him a sense to do something and he really wanted to get his mind off of certain things.
